I just bought the m12 pvc shear a couple weeks ago cause the new company I work for in the heating and air conditioning industry a few guys I worked with had it and I kept seeing it but could never find a good enough reason to buy it then I had a couple high efficiency furnaces that needed to have 2 inch pvc run and I said he’ll with it I found it on Amazon for $150 with overnight delivery so I bought it and damn I love it. I had to replace my blade cause it got a chip in it somehow and other then that it works perfect I use it for pvc 3/4 to 2 inch everyday
So I guess I’m keeping this thing, after watching this video review! Just took down the OfferUp ad, I recently purchased this for $75 or $110( I gave the guy $550 and he gave me 5 tools, even though this one was $75 in the package deal, if you divide 5 by $550 comes to $110) I use this a couple of times and figure I’d just sell it because I can’t justify having it because I’m not a plumber, I was just helping one out for around 4 months to some hotel renovation. However this works way better than at Husky hand cutter. I also bought the M12 copper tube cutter from Home Depot, because trying to do it manually locked up by risk and I can’t even open my head. I know a real plumber has no problem doing that, but I don’t pretend to be a plumber I’m just helping one out, whatever tool I can use to make your job easier I purchase.
The waste pipe we have here is only about 2mm thick. I use a “ plasticut” by rothenberger acts the same as a copper pipe slice perfect cuts check them out. I’m looking at getting the Milwaukee 12v copper pipe cutter at the minute to save my wrist 👍
@@michaelprosperity3420 thats what I used not but a few days ago. Had main and 2 outside spigot valves to replace. Wasn’t enough room for even close copper cutters so my little hacksaw did the trick. Thanks for the tip though 👍🏼
How does it do on cold PVC? Also have you had an issue with blades? How does it cut 2 inch? I know it’s rated to cut 2 inch schedule 80. I deal with a lot of 2 inch schedule 40 and it gets old and a very short period of time using a saws all. I appreciate any feedback you have. Great video
When pvc is cold at least 2 inch it won’t cut it or at snaps. If I am on a job and it’s cold out I try to bring the pvc in doors now to warm it up I use it for vent pipe on high efficiency furances.
What an amazing tool. Just ordered one had too ship over from U.S. Unfortunately this is not available for the Australian market... Does this work with any m12 battery??
Hi, i am from London and brought this cutter but it breaks the pipe in pieces, what can i do or doing wrong. Also the pipes I'm using are a bit thinner than the ones you are using. Thanks
Hey Marco I use schedule 40 and schedule 80 pipe most of the time. That being said it seems like your using class 200 which a thin walled pipe. It also helps if the pipe is warm and not brittle. Also it will crush thin wall condiut
I’m a UK plumber but I work in Canada. Our waste pipe is a lot thinner than in NA so I’m presuming it’s either crushing or snapping the pipe because it’s too brittle.
@@oregongoldhunter Yeah I am going to try it on all the pvc I use 1/2" up to 2" thin wall and test. Thanks. I hope it works because this tool would surely help me!
Piss Trooper007 burrs and clean up, I think that'd be the worst of it. I'm sure if you're a plumber, these clean cuts save you alot of time AND clean up. It depends what you're doing and how much of it

@@eazyinstalls I tried today and it cuts it but it bends it before it cuts. so yea it works just not great. Hoping they make one that cuts 3 inch pvc and down
I’ve been cutting with my m18 hacksaw for a long time I just got this today I love how there is no burs to clean off anymore.
Excellent purchase. Thanks for watching
The fact it cuts a near straight cut is worth the money, NO hand PVC cutter I have used will make a near straight cut.
Im a young plumber, I have this tool and I love it, I always try to find things to work less with my body.
Keep up the great work brother!
I'm also a young plumbing and i just discovered this tool. I'm trying to find the full kit online. I'm a Bosch user though 🤷🏾♂️

Good video by a guy who obviously works with his hands.
thank you sir,
you hit the nail on the head
Hand saws are cheaper to buy. Cut good still. This shear kit if probably perfect for against wall applications even though.
@@easyenetwork2023 Hand saws are fine for homeowners but if you’re a professional you should step it up.

Are there clips available for this guy? Just got myself one and I’m a sprinkler fitter on ladders all day. Would love a clip
None that I’m aware of brother. Be safe out there
i got one too...and i love it !!!!👍🏻
Hi would this be good for straw and pipe in the ground ?
No use on fresh pipe
So how does this handle older pipe?? I have used the Rigid 2in ratchet cutters for awhile but definitely considering this.
It will shatter the pipe. This is best with new pipe. I use miles of pvc every year so it work amazingly for me.
Old pipe gets brittle a hacksaw will cut it.

Does it work well with abs tho, I've read a few comments saying it deforms the pipe
Do not use it with abs, cpvc, or class 200. Use it with fresh schedule 40 ,schedule 80 or pex pipe. Thanks for watching

It will but the pipe has to new. It does a terrible job when the pipe is cold it will shatter it. It's best to sch 40 1.5" and lower.
