      my old boss who made his employees braze in linesets on mini splits would use one of these if he had to flare. when he saw me see him using one it was like caught him in corner with a Monster Calender

    Good unbiased review, we need more of those! As a plumber, I believe the one I just ordered will serve me in my trade very well. Cheers, fellow professional!

    I was absolutely getting ready to order one of these in Amazon. I’m so glad I saw your video. I do residential, so your right…not being able to cut the 3/8’s is disappointing.
    I’m gonna have to think a bit. I might just get it for the 7/8’s…my poor arthritic hands.

    I had one for a while and they're great for light commercial situations while you are correct they don't do anything to 3/8" they are fantastic when it comes to larger split systems

      @WorldofHVAC  2 года назад +1

      Yea for commercial work with bigger linesets its definitely a great tool. Residential is where you have the drawbacks

    On the fence about getting one. Would totally buy one that could cut 3/8 and up. It’d be nice to have one tool to cut through everything with ease.

      I agree. I really dont use it since it doesnt cut 3/8

      Between this and the pro-press, I can plum an entire dealerships air system in half the time. Wonderful tool to have

    You can get the 3/8 cutter too.

    Busy running a shop refrigeration piping, got desperate today cutting 3mm wall 28mm (1-⅛") went and fetched one of these and did 6 cuts in less time than it took for me to cut 1 with a hand cutter.
    Also agree it's half a tool because I would have settled for 2 models, 1 from ¼ to ¾ and other maybe ⅝ to 1-⅜.
    But it is definitely going to save me some time

      @WorldofHVAC  2 года назад

      I rarely come across 1/4 but if I could just get a 3/8 - 7/8 it would be amazing. I've grabbed it before on commercial units and its a breeze but for residential its just a pain having to go back and forth.

    its good for 5/8, 3/4 and 7/8 lineset. i like to use this on water heater as well as this can cut 1/2- 1inch for water heater

    • @WorldofHVAC
      @WorldofHVAC  2 года назад +1

      It's definitely good for that but we use 3/8 for so many units is not worth carrying around in residential. If they made 3/8 fit it would be a game changer.

    I like the review. I would say it does work for regular 3/8 copper with the 3/8 interior but definitely not the hvac 3/8 with the exterior 3/8.

    what about for flares? i use to work in a aerospace tube and duct assembly shop, with hard metals like stainless, inconel, and Titanium. M place im the assembly line was run the cnc tube benders, and while the machine bent the next part we had to cut the excess off the previous one deburr and chamfer them perfectly square.
    Thats the secret to a good flare is no bur and no scratches from a deburr knife. On hydraulic lines if you scratch up the metal being flared you're bringing down planes.
    Coppers more forgiving but when youre testing full retard that 500+ psi and samsung wants they're minisplits pt'ed at like 687 psi.

    I’ve been cutting 1-1/8 line sets for a few weeks straight now, my fingers cramp and my for arms cramp (really painful on my forearm) but idk if I should get it with that half the job tool I don’t want to have to get my cutters for the 3/8 copper line

    • @WorldofHVAC
      @WorldofHVAC  Год назад

      If you're going to be cutting 1-1/8 that much for the foreseeable future then its probably a good investment. Not cutting 3/8 sucks but that's way easier than the big pipe

    Was going to get it but it doesn't cut 3/8 which is the dumbest thing ever to build a copper cutter but not have the option for 3/8. I'll just get the m12 caulk gun I'm tired of the manual one's

    • @WorldofHVAC

    Here’s the thing though, they do advertise it as being able to cut 3/8 I wonder if you have a defective unit or an old blade making it smaller than necessary but idk.

    • @WorldofHVAC

      It hasnt cut 3/8 since the day i bought it. Probably the different measurements between hvac and plumbing copper

    I owned this tool for 5 or 6 days. After approx. a dozen cuts, it kept screwing itself down the copper tubing. What a piece of chit? Yeah, I can spell. I just don't want another threatening note from RUclips. If you really want to separate yourself from your money, wad up your cash and throw it into the street.

    plumber = yes, Hvac = no Thankfully HVAC tech doesnt need to cut as much as a plumber. the close quarters work factor is great

    Junk. Mine breaks down all the time. While under warranty I had to take it in at least 3 times because it would not reset after the cut. This happened 7 times in 3 years period. The tool company that works on these told me they are constantly fixing these because of the heads not working right. I own all Milwaukee cordless tools but they dropped the ball on this i ended up buying the DeWalt cutter and yes I have to switch heads from 1/2" to 3/4" but at least it doesn't break down all the time and it cuts twice as faster than the Milwaukee.
