    I bought this tool with the thought that it looks like a cool gadget that may or may not make my life easier. Here to tell you if you are on the fence...buy it! This thing has paid for itself several times over in less than a month! It is especially handy in tight spots. It's nice not to use your fingers to cut a pipe with an imp cutter when the pipes are only spaced 1.5 inches away from something. You just push the jaws over the top of the pipe...and squeeze the trigger. super easy. I am a refrigeration installer so I haven't used this around water...but it loves the occasional bath in refrigeration oil when demo out old equipment. My only complaint is that it only goes up to 1-1/8" copper pipe. PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE Milwaukee scale this thing up to cut 1-3/8", 1-5/8" and 2-1/8" pipe. I would gladly buy another one to cut the bigger sizes. We professional guys out there would love it!

    been using one of these for a while now and everywhere I go customers love it. and so do I. saves so much time and gets in those tight spots that would be pretty much impossible with anything else.

    I don't know if the product states that it should grip the pipe, but with some common sense everyone should understand to grip the pipe with hand if it's rolling...
    This is one of those special tools that are extremely usefull in tight spots where the regural cutter don't fit, surely less stressfull than using hacksaw blade.

  • @adventurenator
    @adventurenator 13 лет назад +1

    @CATEGORY5D Yeah, you can see the slight "fence" inside the inner circumference of the cut, just like any copper tubing cutter that I've ever seen. I have a nifty reamer from Yellow Jacket that cleans this up nicer than nice. Used it for four years straight, never even had to use one of the replacement blades included in the blue handle with black cap.
    For plumbing, this would not really be much of an issue. But for HVAC refrigerant, I like'er smooth.

    I have an 2471-20 that I used on 1 job. Made approx. 30-40 cut cycles on 5/8 ACR refrigeration copper before the torsion spring broke on one end. I put it in the case it came in and it sat on a shelf in my van for about 2 years. Recently bought a new spring and replacement battery.Anyone have an install instructional for this tiny little tool stopper?

    I bought a cordless tubing cutter from the supply house almost 20 years ago. It actually spun the pipe though. It was discontinued when I bought it. I bought the display. Just didn’t hold up. I think it’s actually still in my garage somewhere. It was wayyy faster than that thing though.

      +Joe Golik III I do HVAC/R service and the tool cruised right through the 5/8 ACR I was working with. However, there is a little spring part # 40-50-0605 www.ereplacementparts.com/images/milwaukee/2471-20_(SER_B61A).pdfthat broke on the end with the hook. when it broke the cutter still rotated and returned to the open position but did not cut tubing.other than that, I loved how fast it made the cut. It's definitely a nice tool to work with.

    I use this tool all the time at work installing boilers. It gets lots of abuse and keeps on cutting. Been using it for a few years now. If a pipe has water in it position the tool so the water doesn't run down into the motor. Its not a submarine. You have to hold one end of the pipe or it will just spin. Common sense kind of stuff.

    I bought one used in a pawn shop for 60 bucks. Only lasted about 6 months then it quit cutting even though it kept spinning. But in all true I loved using it.
    Last month I bought another one used too but in like new shape for 55 dollars. So far is doing wonders. Even if it breaks Ill buy another one because I cut a lot of copper and it pays off. But if you dont do a lot of copper it may not be a good investment for you. I did try to cut some 1/2" conduit one time and it didnt work pretty good. I guess is not designed for that. Peace.

      @@KhoiTran-bx9dq I actually bought one when on special but took it back as it didn't like 15mm and was easier to cut by hand. Great idea but abit of a gimmick

      brittenv1000 the sightclass is very easy to get scratched and you cant see nothing. And it took ages to cut.

    Damn it so it can't cut off rusted leaking parts of a vehicle\'s steel fuel lines that's mounted close tot he body because the tool requires a lot of clearance.
