    We have used the outside cleaning brush in a drill for many years! Another handy tip for fittings is to cut the handle off the cleaning brush and put it in the drill. This will really speed up copper fitting cleaning! Happy Plumbing!

    • @lostintime8651
      @lostintime8651 4 года назад +4

      Just take a regular outside cleaning brush drill a hole in the center, put a flat head bolt in there and a nut and you're ready to go. Just stick it in the drill.

    the little butane torch is nice. But for home gamers, I prefer the larger butane torch you'll find at cooking stores for creme brulee. It's cheap, the flame is much hotter and gas can is bigger.

      You buy the torch head separately from cans of butane.
      It's a breeze to solder with, but not the best for tight spaces.

      Those fitting have a Solder Ring inside them, not a gasket. They make a long repair coupling that’s really nice for replacing a Freeze burst section of pipe, especially in a tight area. What he didn’t show is you still have to sand and flux the pipe.

    For those ratcheting cutters for plastic pipe- most of the cheap ones seem to be crap. Good ones I've seen are quite expensive. I haven't tried this one--does it really hold up?

      @@Got2Learn Thanks for the feedback. One I can remember using is a Kobalt model that had a really soft blade. After 3 cuts the blade bent itself and chunks of the metal folded with standard Schedule 40 PVC. There is a youtube video in which a user shows this in real time with a single cut. Avoid!

    I have a pair of those brass craft ratchet pipe cutters and they will not work with PVC!! Every time it shatters the pipe. I thought that I got a defective one so they sent me a replacement and they still shatter the pipe. Though they work great for black poly water pipe and hoses!

    • @Got2Learn
      @Got2Learn  4 года назад

      Are you working in the cold? Also, if the blade is dull, it'll shatter tge pipe ;)

      Try rotating the pipe or cutter slightly while squeezing slowly. I use Rigid cutters and find the trick works well on pvc
