Here me out here... I think the cutscenes were originally just designed to be what played the first time you wandered into a new area of the hub. (minus a few) Like the hangar cutscene. And then they removed those areas because they probably didn't finish them all and management wanted to push out the game too early.
You're probably right. It was all intended to just be the prologue, but because they rushed it out the door they ended up making it the actual "Story".
Interesting theory, it would make an awful lot of sense. It was truly odd that the "introduction" was the only mission you got to play that had any dialogue relevant to the actual main story too.
If you go through pre-release footage and even the "This is Darktide" video they released, you can clearly see some of the current in-game cutscenes but without the "Traitor". They shoehorned the traitor into them for release.
Yeah, it was very odd to be summoned into the hangar just to be asked why you are there, no one had requested your presence. That was cringe, espacially when you consider they have dan at their disposal
I mean we could hope that is the case because that would mean that they have an entire Dan Abnett level story in the works to be implemented, but such high hopes only makes the pit of disappointment deeper so I’ll wait and see for the “engoodening of Darktide”
With Fatshark handling the game they really lived up to that one 40k quote of "Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned".
Fatshark has a rep for releasing their games too early. Vermintide 2 was almost the same when that came out. But the way they amped up the cash shop shenanigans and timers for things.

While the cosmetics may not look too good, the upside is that they aren't vital to the gameplay. they're just that, cosmetics. I’m starting to realize the magic of Left 4 Dead 2 will NEVER be recaptured. So many have tried and as many have failed. Part of the longevity behind L4D2 is the community maps. While Vermintide and Darktide have vastly superior combat, I stopped playing V2 because the maps were just boring after the thousandth time. Only played a bit of Darktide since my pc can barely run it and it’s not on Xbox, but it’s sad to see videos like this
My personal favorite part is where Fatshark decided that crafting resources shouldn’t be shared amongst all members of a party so it becomes a “who can wander off and die first so they get all the resources” battle. Also no carry over of currency and the like from one character to another. I’m so glad I sunk the better part of 30-40 hours grinding out one class to completion. What sickens me that if you want to look somewhat cool and standout among the junky industrial maps, you have to pay real money to the cash store for cosmetics. From here on out, they'll have ZERO incentive to create free cosmetics.
@@Hasshodo I am... but haven't you looked at the cash shop outfit and seen the solid gold and silver skull masks, the Catholic shawl made of white scripture cloth robes in place of the in game Mad Max armor? How the Ogryn's have actual armor plating? Veteran outfits that are stylish trenchcoats and commando armor instead of the same armor the Chaos Guardsman scabs are wearing? Stuff that stands out? If so, why can't you connect to what I'm saying?
@@Acesahn I see what you mean. My point is that for one, I dont think FatShark isn't going to throw out more freemium cosmetics - I don't have an issue with how they look tbh. This is, however, by their own admission, a Live Service game, which means, and this should not be a surprise to anyone, they are going to incentivize people to spend money over not. Think about it - if the free cosmetics were just as good as the paid ones, it cuts into their profit margin - if the free looked better, few would pay money for the ones that cost. What they really should've done, and this might have even been possible if they hadn't raced the game out the door, is to make the free cosmetics really nice but generic (which is what they probably think they did), and make the cash shop shit very specific. Krieger gear, for example. So the people who wanna cosplay can, and the folk who dont care still look good. And this is just my personal opinion, but I find most of the cashshop gear to be underwhelming so far - some of the small stuff is fine, but the bundles are kinda ugly - only think I liked so far, and bought, was the Tanker jacket, and that was fairly cheap (again, just my subjective opinion) Either way, it's a waste of effort to complain about now. I speak as someone who used to rail against live service monetization models for YEARS and have now realized its better to take a zen approach and not care about shit you can't change. Fatshark are positively altruistic by comparison to Live Service companies like Gaijin and Wargaming, who absolutely do engage in naked pay-to-win monetization. No shade on anyone who wants to get angry, I just don't have the energy for it.
nice video but your voicesound is very inconsistent. sounds like watching transformermovies pretty quiet when talking max volume while action gameplaywhise its pretty fking dope. but you can feel how much is missing if you play for about 3-4h.

Listen, Vermintide was HOT GARBAGE when it released. Yet its fantastic now. Sure it sucks that they launched an incomplete game, but if you were expecting anything different than what Fatshark has done in every single game its released in the last few years, youre only kidding yourself.
Except ot wasn't lol. It had great narrative, well written interactions between chars, a ful set of maps, all various looking, crafting system, 5 chars with 3 subclasses each featuring its own set of abilities, and pretty nice optimization. And nobody really cared about the lack of cosmetics. Trying to find excuses for the game being anti-player by downvoting the previous game is just pathetic. Open your eyes FFS.

By the time it'll get enough content to be the game that the devs intended for it to be, it'll already be on sale by then.
solid video I believe most ppl feel like u so lets wait a bit and then we play cool game soon :)
Hellsyes! Free biscuit!
Suprise.. 5 people didnt watch you sir. And we mostly agree with your humble review. Current state of game is... not fun. Lets see it improves. We bought game, we might as well wait a bit and see. Is shark gona swim out victourious? Or is it gona get hunted by angry mob? Time will t33l
What sickens me that if you want to look somewhat cool and standout among the junky industrial maps, you have to pay real money to the cash store for cosmetics. From here on out, they'll have ZERO incentive to create free cosmetics.
Eh, I wouldn't go that far.
@@Hasshodo The Ogryn gets tank tops and chains, the preacher gets Mad Max armor pads and the psyker gets industrial tubes wrapped around him lol
@@Acesahn Yeah? Are you not familiar with 40k?
And this is just my personal opinion, but I find most of the cashshop gear to be underwhelming so far - some of the small stuff is fine, but the bundles are kinda ugly - only think I liked so far, and bought, was the Tanker jacket, and that was fairly cheap (again, just my subjective opinion)
Either way, it's a waste of effort to complain about now.
I swear ppl don’t know what early access means anymore🤦
I havent had many crashes since playing
They are using the pc version to fix everything before they put it out to Xbox
nice video but your voicesound is very inconsistent.

Open your eyes FFS.
what is with crackers and blaming everything on tencent lmfao, swedish companies are some of the worst when it comes to greed (payday)
