Join the dimwit wellington boot man as he tries to reconcile with the lost time that he could have spent finishing the critically acclaimed CRPG Baldur's Gate 3.
Apparently Darktide penance update is out so next vid is probably gonna about that :) Then rogue trader next, although I havent even started it yet so we'll see. - Игры

There was a screenshot going around where a guy said he read about 10 Warhammer books and decided he knows enough to participate in fan discussions, and tried to chat on a 40K fan forum. "I was promptly told that I don't know shit and that I should shut my heretical piehole"

And later my rts addiction made me found Dawn of war 1 with all of its expansions included
Shame GW took it down. Then again hating GW is part of being a 40K fan. Heres hoping they go under and the IP gets taken over by fans.
And then the hatred grows when you find out GW coerced the creator to work for them under the shadow of copyright lawsuits, bullied him until he quit, made him sign an NDA on all the stuff he did for them while there, and now he's been forced to abandon any astartes sequels he would have again due threat of copyright

Careful leaving that Beast of Nurgle unattended and unloved. It might become a rotfly.
Me thinking at first glance that Warhammer lore is too nerdy even for me. Then that first bite of a Warhammer game or seeing the Adric in your feed and thinking "Why not" or seeing a Warhammer audiobook and the cover and synopsis looks kind of cool. Then you're unironically reading the wiki and getting *another* book because you got the first book in a series so want to continue it. By then realizing its too late and It's got you hooked..
I first heard about 40k in my first year of HS. I was watching sovietwomble's vietnam video and heard "MORE DAKKA". I looked it up and immediately dismissed it as "nerd shit", even though at the time I thought Ravadil's Quest was the funniest thing ever. I only really got into 40k 2 years ago and I've gotten enough brainrot to become a demon prince of nurgle.

Funnily enough, I escaped the "buying models" bit, as between the lore (back when GW still gave a damn) and the video games, I find myself rather content.
I print models from time to time but I’ve been a major lore guy for decades now.
Literally watching this after painting my first box of plastic crack.
Rogue Trader made me adore the setting and after actually watching a few tutorials and having some super helpful conversations with the dude at my local gamestore I ended up having an awesome first paint experience --- my Raven Guard are looking fresh.
Awesome hobby to pick up; especially as someone who came from D&D I have lots of models to paint and practice on as well!!
Stoked to be getting into the hobby 🖤
Ooof, talk about bad timing
In the words of Cardinal Richlow, "Oof, poor timing."
The mechanicus game is what popped my cherry. The silliness is what finally got me to break out my wallet for the minis.
My dad has had the hobby since the 80’s, (painting minis and reading the books for both 40k and fantasy) so my fate was sealed the moment i was born. Nowadays most of what i read is his book collection, i paint minis myself and i can now also show him stuff like trailers and gameplay from darktide and total war warhammer 3
"slobbering over space marines" Believe me, from what I've seen it's the complete opposite
Regarding leaving the Beast of Nurgle on the shelf so he can receive "devastating neglect"... Ironically, that's kinda part of it's gig. These things are just like giant puss puppies that want to "play", but "playing" kills people... but they are so happy they don't know that, and they don't know why no one wants to play with them... so they go away depressed and pupate into these killer mosquito things. So.... you're doing it right. ROFL.
After watching this video I looked at the corner of the room where I have boxes un-assembled, un-painted Nemesis, Warmaster and Emperor titans collecting dust.
Yeah I should probably do something about that sometime...
Titans are big enough you could have your kids paint them with some touch-up afterwards
Bro the editing is so good. Great video
Try looking at a map of the warhammer universe then wonder what the hell am I doing this for? The implication is that I have neither a sense of direction nor full grasp of how bloody insane the High lords are to think they are capable of controlling this Imperium. The scope of it is enough to justify why they act like toddlers when someone is doing a better job than them. Good luck you are going to need it.
I have this creed thing about purging the heretic.. im terribly sorry. Im sure you understand. BLAM
A piece of fan art is what got me interested, and I am glad you learned very early that 40k is really really dumb but thats why its good! it is truly a circus as you put it. I hope you enjoyed painting your first mini :) make sure you save that stinky boy so you can see how far you have come in the future.

gooood, we will watch your career with great intrest.
I still recall first hearing about warhammer years ago due to Arch Warhammer, got confused wondering how things fit together due to not understanding there were multiple universes at first (Took a few lore videos).
For anyone interested in the craziness of 40k, I recommend Arch's War for Badab series

I like your style a lot, usually you don't see this kind of quality videos with less than hundreds of thousands of subs so this will be a fun ride 🤙
my first dose of 40k was walking past a shop when I was 8 or 9.
that was roughly 20 years ago and hearing people just getting into it makes me truly feel like one of the gang, "one of the lads" you might say, despite not fitting into the typical category.
I have now become the hermit sitting on the hill, watching you all walk the warrior's path, poking as you fall for the oldest tricks in the book.

Hey if you want to get into the hobby on a budget there’s great videos honestly it’s a great destresser
I got hooked on 40k back in '14 or '15. Left back in '21 because of how GW treated the creator of the Astartes series as well as other minor reasons. The lore is what kept me there for so long, and they are rapidly retconning the best, most grimdark parts of it out to try and appeal to the mythical "wider audience."
You will either leave disgusted, or live long enough to see yourself become a GW shill.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone

It really sneaks up on you. One day you are playing a videogame because it's good (DOW in my case) and a few years later the big lore channels on youtube rarely tell you something you didn't already (at least peripherally) knew.
Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew. Part of the ship, part of the crew
I’ve read over 215 books and I still constantly learn new things or hidden meanings when talking to others, it’s really is a whole galaxy worth of information from all places not just the books.
I’ve got a warhammer 40k ad before this video
I got lured into 40k by way of Warhammer Fantasy, my parents played WF before Age of Sigmar practically ejected them from the hobby. But i soon found 40k and then i was infected by the mania inducing complexity of the canon and now im sitting in my little house with my legion of guardsmen on a shelf rotting and praying to the emperor that i use them.
Get an opposing army. Then its easier to twists peoples arm to try it with it in front of their face
Started with warhammer Lord of the rings, evolved to fantasy then to 40k.
No regrets.
Bro sounds like WH40k OG Luetin. You truly are one of us. Welcome!!!
40K is always at it's best when it remembers that it's all pretty fuckin' funny, actually.
Thank the emperor that I had bricky's content to learn about 40ks lore, because if I didn't, I would've been as lost as an ork with a mid fight crisis.
I will never forget my fisrt warhammer lore video:
"The imperium of man is a ruthless and xenophobic dictatorship ruled by a god emperor"
Me: okey this are the bad guys of the setting right, right?
The "look familiar" HD2 reference gave me a good chuckle
For me, I got into 40K through Darktide as well, way back in the beta. From there I listened to a few audio books from the first few Horus Heresy novels, then some Guard books. I went to my nearest Games Workshop and picked up the Cadia Stands Astra Militarum army box. $4,000 and a year and a half later, "even in debt, I still serve."
Never forget tts
I love the silliness, that's why I play Orks.
Once you dive into these nerdy things you’ll never come back. Ever.
The Horus heresy got me, when i found out about the civil war from the faction that was humanity first, it got me hooked
Don't forget, you're here forever...
i used to and had huge armies. 30 years ago. I almost bought some tau robot guys. then i convinced myself their legs were thin and silly looking. Thus saving myself a lot of money.
I hope darktide gets an offline patch would suck for this game to just die like the crew one day
lmao savage
“Alright, you’ve bought dark tide” nope. I’m stuck in a VRchat group of guardsman bc im too broke
Welcome home Brother, you're here forever.
It is better to die for the Emperor than to live for oneself. Well done brother, your initiation has begun.
Darktide is the game that got me to pull the trigger on finally buying models. And now it has its own board game coming out. We've come full circle.
for me it was in high school for the silent reading and i grabbed a Gaunts Ghosts novel from the library
I'd *heard* about it for a while, but what got me into it was TTS, followed up by the Ciaphus Cain series.
Funnily enough, DRG is what pushed me over the edge to start collecting models, ever since the Leagues of Votann dropped.
I’m a recent fan, but all because of the books. I had no idea how epic this world is.
Now Youv ever heard, the Tragedy of Malal the Vanished God? its not a tale GW will tell you that for sure.
6:20 its cool to see I'm not the only one doing this. I grew up wanting to do nothing but pvp, playin unreal tournament, cod and Destiny etc. and all that fun stuff. But i dunno, one day that stuff didn't feel the same way it did and now i want nothing but good stories and characters and challanges like Mass effect, SoulsLikes and niches like KCD. Don't get me wrong tho i still do all that it just isn't my main thing anymore. Love the video!
I honestly found it whent when every teenager posted "dark humor" where there was either sabaton music or warhammer trailers playing in the video, i learn to look past the edgelords and found one of the things i love and hate dearly that is the dawn of war series
I like to imagine that somewhere in grim darkness of 41 millennium there is a space marine just playing Minecraft.
playing as a psyker in darktide just makes me wanna learn more and more about the kinda unique way 40k does "magic", and see an accurate portrayal of it in a movie or show
RUclips just started randomly recommending Warhammer 40k lore videos to me recently, so I got curious and watched one... then another, then another. Now I listen to 40k lore while I'm sleeping. I'm enjoying it, but it's really the Orks I want. I love the Orks the most. I just want to collect all the Orks and have them around my house as little mascots. They're so cute!
Started for me when i bought darktide, next thing i knew it was a month later in the Christmas holidays and i was painting up a squad of space marines while watching luetin lore videos in the backround
The Dawn of War series was my gateway into 40k back in the early 00's.
Hell of a time to decide to jump in lol
A fuckin edit of imperial fists marching with desoposal unit music enticed me into this damn thing, can you imagine?
it’s something i’d tiptoed around because the space marines are very recognizable, but i never had a way to digest the world or setting other than a lore video here and there, and only took the full plunge in recent months
I was infected by bricky and adeptus ridiculous as a whole, after I spent some time in 40k, I found out about fantasy and the skaven, I now am currently puting a skaven costume together.
same i'm just now getting into 40k Starting with some of the games. But it was the silly and equally sick lore that got me. I think I really like the Blood Angels
I’ve been aware of 40k my whole life. I never got into it because I had no one to play with, and I suck at painting. This year, I decided to get into the lore, and I’m really loving the grim dark universe they’ve created. I don’t see myself buying it or painting any miniatures anytime soon, but I am absolutely fascinated with the characters and lord.
Speed paints bro. You can do it. Buy the crack
bricky and his fucking Every single Warhammer 40k Faction Explained got me hooked on the lore, and Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus did the rest.
Ah so that's where the hundreds of minis I've been building over the past 14 years are from, neat
The funniest part is the most powerful soldiers in the imperium look like playmobile spacemen
A cheaper way to get into 40k is finding alternative model companies, also using older versions of the game like necromunda or just playing one page rules for basic gameplay
Hadn't even heard of Warhammer 40k until i saw Syama Pedersen's Astartes and ive binge watched 40k lore since then.
I played Darktide, Now I'm 24 books into the Horus Heresy. JUST SAY NO!
