Every times this video gets a new view a german engineer is evil laughing is ass off. Thanks for the help!
Looked at your step by step video on how to change the day light running bulb. Your video was so thorough down to the tools needed and I was able to head to my nearest auto parts store and purchase the Torx #25 and the bulb. In under 30mins I changed the bulb and was so proud of myself. You have saved me $45 on a mechanic cost alone.
Thank you.
Need a mechanic with child sized hands and the grip strength of a rock climber
😂😂😂
No joke. I worked at Valvoline for 2 years and did hundreds of bulbs on all sorts of cars. Now I’m in my driveway with my own VW and can’t get that V shape twisted
@@jeremyrosenberger8535 so the trick was to wrap your arms in a towel or rag and hold it in your fist as you go in
Invalid I surrendered for today but I’ll try that out tomorrow. Thanks!
You need the right tools
Wow . My light went out last week. I didn't even know where to look.
Great video . Much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Love how you show this side and not the harder one
Super nice clear to follow video with great part hightlights - well done!
FOR PASSENGER SIDE: Great video and instructions on how to replace running light. For the passenger side, however, these tips may help.
-Turn wheels to the LEFT.
-My cover had a screw that uses a hex tip or flat head screwdriver.
-Remove cover, remove cap, pull out assembly, and replace light bulb as shown. Once new bulb is in the housing, turn the car on to be certain the new light works before you attempt to lock it into place!
-When reinstalling the bulb, the "V"on the housing needs to point DOWN
and then you can turn it (i believe) counter clockwise. to lock it into place.
-Replace cap and cover as shown.
-Be gad you did this on your own instead of paying the dealership!
Thanks for the video. Clear, concise instructions with no BS.
The red highlighting/lines are super helpful. Thank you!
THANK YOU! A very informative video.
Wow, this is one of the most descriptive, easy instructional videos I've ever seen.
Thank you and awesome job!
Now all I need to do is wet my hands and throw them in the dryer to shrink them down LOL

Thank you for this video! I would have never figured it out on my own.
I've got to find me one of them hoseless air ratchets. That thing is slick and Sounds like it's got some torque to it. Thanks for the video well demonstrated
Used your video once again made the light change easy thanks you are my go to vw videos
Thank you very much...i was hoping I didn’t have to pull off the cover..good job, great video
Thanks for posting. Very handy!
Wow i totally missed that access panel! Thx!

OMG I was trying to remove all the head lights thanks brother
You rock Adam! Thank you! :D

John 😊
What a great video. Thank you so much!
Nice. That's my exact color vw passat, trim and everything. Thank you.
So informative and to the point!
This is an excellent video. I appreciate it very much.
Thank you for this video.
I really appreciated this video. It made the job a lot easier.
Thank u man save my life I didn’t have no ideas I was thinking take the car to the dealer
That's what VW wants you to do... which is why they made it so needlessly complex to do routine stuff.
You’re a lifesaver
👍 Thanks that was a huge help.
...and LGB!
Thanks guys very informative though I'm still struggling to locate on the bottom of my t6 multivan lights, I can reach down there but can't feel anything like a light, any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Thank You. Perfect!
Thank you....save me lot of time!!
Great video gonna get this done tomorrow
Thanks for the video, it helped me!
Thanks! I was getting crazy
Thank you very much it was easy when you showed me .
Holy moly! It’s easier to replace DRL lightbulbs on my 2009 VW Passat CC VR6 Sport.
clear and concise
Awesome video, it was very helpful. I agree with most here that the placement and configuration for access is rather cruel and unusual punishment. I was able to do it but not without some scrapes and cuts. It was certainly not fast. My Passat is 10 years old now and this is the first time I've needed the bulbs replaced (used LED). I do think it would be easier if I had the tire removed. Regardless, thank you for the well done video.
What is the condition of leds today? I have expensive CREE leds that are still going strong on my Toyota. Thanks
Thanks!! I got it done!
TY for the brotha, much appreciated.
Thank you!! For sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you very helpful video
Thank you for the illustration. nice and clear. I have a 2011 Tiguan, the light malfunction light came on the other day, but the front light assembly has only three bulbs, for high and low bean and turn signal, I have no idea what the fourth horizontal one came from and what for. I spend hours researching, until watching your video. It has to be it. Will check tomorrow. Thank you!
Thanks, you are cool.
Thank you SOOOO much!!
Thank you Sir!
Hi, i get replace it as you described, but for some reason didn't work , I'll try different bulb and doesn't work, passenger side works perfectly.
What's your thoughts about it ?
Do you think is a burn fuse ?
Waiting for your reply, thanks
This helped!
Appreciate the video
Thank YOU !!!
awesome thanks a bunch, had no idea it was in the wheel well area lol
Thank you!
Really liked the instructional video, though my vw was a torx 20, not 25. && make sure when you're twisting the cap off, you don't let go because it falls all the way down and you have to unscrew the screws along the wheel.
Hey Adam, my 2013 Passat SE is having some problems with the turn signals. The bulbs are new, I just replaced them but still it won't work. All the fuses seem to be ok. Any advise? Thanks sir
Thank you!!
I finally changed out my day time running bulb on my 2014 Passat TSI SE and it was as easy as you made it look. I do wish the bulb socket "V" was pointed downward on mine because it was a tad tricky to get the bulb all the way out, but it was a lot easier getting the bulb back in. Only paid 8.99 for a pack of 2.
I only needed a stubby flat head screw driver (2" long) instead of the star bit to take off the cover because the nut had the flat head option on it, so that was a relief.
Thanks for the video.
Be aware on the passenger side you turn the assembly clockwise, looking forward, to remove. I fought it for an hour before catching this. To complete this easily you need baby hands with gorilla strength.
Good tutorial but I have a 2015 Touareg and need to replace the daytime running lights, looks like led strip. Can you help with that, I hope so. Thank you
How would you take off the headlight assembly on a 2019 Passat I'm thinking about changing to LEDs
Is the passenger side bulb housing “V” position the same as the driver side? I’m assuming it still twists clockwise to screw-in?
nice vid 👍
Can you do a 2014 jetta cause mine doesn't have that under the wheel line that
Any idea on how to replace the daytime light, passenger side, on a 2016 Caravelle?
What type is the bulb used for the drl?
Thank you sir
thanks buddy....
Perfect
God bless you!
Thank you...
I’m at the Clovis VW dealership now getting one day time running light replaced. Service girl told me it’s a complicated process and takes about 30 minutes. LOL.
I'm sure it is, if you've got gorilla mitts.
Can I replace my marker light they same way on a 2017 Passat?
Does anyone know the blinker size for a 2017 passat
Thank you for your help! Just did mine with your help. They must use child labor in the factory to get those in. My big meat hooks barely fit!
What bulb did you buy? incandescent or LED?
@@eflodel LED
I have 2016 soon im any info plz on changing drl
Can you please post in how to replace the ballast for some model and year??? post
What bulb type does it use?
Finally with the help of channel locks got the v twisted back and the light out only to drop the round piece into the body so I'm going to take the tire off tomorrow and take the casing from around the tire and have access to this thing it will not beat me.
Great video , can please make one how to adjust head lights to go left or right
Thanks
My 2016 passat has both top amd bottom drl how to change the top one i cannot find it
2015 daylight bulb upgrade tip. 7440 LED
Is this the same for a 2013 passat?
What do you call the little light just to the inside of that light
On my Passat B7 (2013) one DRL bulb will not click into the socket and falls out. How do I fix that or can I get a new socket?
Love how he shows the easy part and edits out the part that's a bitch to get out the bulb.
Is it the same for the other side?
How do you change drl on 2018 vw jetta
I'm not mechanically inclined. I couldn't do it. He made it looked easy. I took mine to the dealer when I had the car serviced. They didn't charge me.
Thank you for the video, now I know exactly how I got scammed... Telling me it's expensive because they had to remove the whole bumper.
Glad some of the comments addressed the issue of the passenger side DRL. It is much harder than the driver side. Seems like most of these videos only do the driver side and then talk about how easy it is.
How do you do the right hand side ?
Ty
I have a 2012 vw Jetta GLI model. Need to replace fog light bulb. Do i need to take the bumber off just to replace the bulb??
Yes with the GLI its impossible to do it with your hand.
What's the name of that cover, I lost it I need to buy one
I have a 2008 VW Passat….. Is it located in the same spot?
I attempted to use the techniques in this video on my 2013 Jetta. The compartment was not in my wheel-well. It was on the inside behind my lights next to/underneath my fuse box. I feel like this video would be helpful because I wouldn't have known to check under the wheel-well for a compartment to change lights, but it doesn't work for my 2013 Jetta. Probably more accurate for the Passats than the Jettas. I advise if you're seeking Jetta help that you look elsewhere.
