You can roll up the windows by holding the lock button on your fob if the feature is unlocked and if you hold the unlock button it rolls the windows down. You can buy an OBDeleven and unlock it yours too. This feature was already in Wolfsburg edition Jettas in 97-98. Not sure why it's not just standard
I wouldn't call the slight steering wheel offset a "feature"... I've owned a 2013 Passat TDI SE and currently own a 2018 Passat GT. If I hadn't read somewhere that the steering wheel was slightly offset from centerline of the driver's seat I never would have noticed.
My 2017 SE 1.8t has climatronic failure where the ducts for cabin air don’t change. Cheap Chinese duct flap control. I already changed out the temp actuator. The duct actuator cannot be accessed without removing the dash so dealing with it.
Thanks I didn't know about the interior window switch trick. Also I thought my transmission was doing the neutral shift because it was set up for a start stop car, I didn't know it was intentional to save gas. The aisin feels like every gear is an overdrive.
Bought new 2014 SE w/roof 1.8 tiptronic trans. Well serviced ZERO squeak creak or rattles 162,213 miles. Use BG 5K oil changes. By FAR the least trouble of ANY car owned in my 66 years including a new 2011 Gernan built base DSG trans GTI. Did 90 miles in the slow lane at 60, cruise control little varation on the trip 42.3 mpg. Can't tell me they're not great cars. Gotta keep on basic maintenance
I didn't know about the windows feature. That's good to know. Mine is a 2014 with a manual transmission, and it has been very reliable, as well as efficient. The farthest I've driven was 726 miles on 17 gallons with about 1.4 gallons left, doing about 68 mph most of the way. Other features I like are that I can set it to unlock all doors and trunk with one touch, or open just the driver's door with the first touch. Also, I can set it so the horn doesn't honk when I lock it. I didn't know the battery was "robust" but I do know I want to replace it with the original brand since it has lasted almost 11 years so far, but it will die quickly with accessories on below freezing temperatures. In particular, I appreciate the understated, conventional styling in and out, compared to most other cars these days.
Are there differences in interior width with eu vs us models? Because i got a eu variant. But my airvents in the side are way smaller and my steeringwheel isn't off set either
Tiguan has same brake /start arangement. I'm pretty sure if you long hold the door lock button on your remote it will wind all the windows up, and in reverse if you long hold the unlock it will wind all the windows down. If yours doesn't do that it can be coded to do it.
I Used to have a 2008 Dodge Magnum. The magnums were built on a Mercedes E Class chassis. The transmission was also a Mercedes Benz transmission. Interesting little bit of history.
Weird about the brake. I have a 2012 and it has a dummy light for when your foot is OFF the break while in park. I’ve never EVER had to press the brake pedal in before starting mine.
Nice video. I have a 2014 manual transmission Volkswagen Passat with 73,000 miles that I want to buy. It has free accident history claim title. Do you think it is a good car to buy specially when it’s a manual transmission
I have a manual gearbox 2014 Passat Estate 2 litre diesel in the UK. A vehicle with 73k on the clock may be due a new timing belt ( and water pump) . Factor that in the price.
actually there is a difference when driving (talking about the neutral part). when you drive your car will be from "D1" up to "D6". when letting go of the gas pedal it will enter "D" which is your so called "Neutral". if you brake and let go of the pedal (and not pressing anything afterwards) you will see that it will be in a gear to further slow down the car slowly. (all of this is meant for an automatic ofc. and i speak in experience of driving the passat B7 variant from 2012)
thanks! manual trans is nice, i enjoy my car a lot. same deal with starting, turn key and tells ya to depress brake & clutch to start. When ya do, bingo.
also keep your finger on the lock button on your key it will put all your windows up same if you hold the unlock button {well they do in europe} also i don't know if this model is the same but on mine if you keep the button from face vents and the ac button pressed it will recalibrate the vents inside the dash
I think the dates you give for the B7 variant might only apply for the US models. Elsewhere the B7 was from 2010-2015 and B8 was 2015-2023 with the B9 is just out very recently. Didn't you guys get the B8?
Why did VW discontinue making the Passat. I am in the buy of a used car and ran into a 2019 Silver Passat Wolfburg edition with 53k for $15k but then I was doing my backgound investigation found out its nolonger a car for sale What happen? Is this a red flag to avoid this car, its still under warranty last owner had to replace the radio and backup camera plus one stabalizer bar not sure what that is but carfax shows no engine issues or recalls. help
Windows open and close when long pressing the remote key button so the one with long press button inside drivers dor is not that useful. Remotely opening and closing widows is much much better (when the vehicle is very hot you can first open all windows for a fast cooling or when you are further away you can still close all windows). As far as I know only vag cars have this but is something that was present since 2000's (tested on all audi and vw models).
my 2005 Lexus es 330{USA} did same with all windows and sunroof , now I just buy my 2014 VW passat B7 dsg , {European version} and will trying if has same features too {I heard US version from EU are different ones}
I bought a Passat about 3 weeks ago, its only an S model but the 2.0Litre Diesel is a peach. Tons of power and so quiet for a diesel. Comes with decent kit as standard too, will 100% keep it for a good few years, after that my next car will be a Passat for sure.
I have a 2012 Passat and my steering wheel/cloumn is dead nuts centered. Maybe yours was in a wreck.😂 These cars are crap by the way. Huge disappointment . Especially for a German engineered vehicle
What a useless video. First, you say people don't know these features so confidently. Well, I knew them. Then you show the most useless features on the car. Plus, where is the proof of the transmission go into neutral when stopped and in drive. Most automatic transmission go into 'neutral' when stopped and in drive. You didn't even show that the windows roll up and down with the key fob which is useful.
For the windows roll up feature you can also just touch and hold the exterior lock area and it will roll windows up and close sunroof.
My 2022 SE doesn’t do this unless I need to wait longer before trying ?
I have the door handle sensors, if I notice a window down, all I have to do is press and hold the lock sensor to roll an up
@@thechuck1977you have to hold your finger on the sensor then your windows will go up and the sunroof will close.
But how do you make it go down? I've been trying for two years and can't. My 3 year old son just did it and I cant duplicate it.
The VR6 engine from 2012-2019 features the DSG (Dual-Clutch) transmission, as well as the 2012-2015 TDI Diesel engine

Just got the 2019 wolfsburg tiptronic gotta say it's pretty cool 😎

DEPRESS ZE BREAK!🗣️💯

i have 2014 tsi se passat as far as it experts says its one of vw best year on cars. 7 years and not a single problem.
1st year with the 1.8 EA888. I think they wanted to get it right. We obviously have benefitted frim it.@@chuckreis1

the eu and us are different cars, I got the CC (basically the same interior) and there are quite a few differences

I have a 2012 and mine is the same as yours. No need to press the brake.
Mine too 2012 Passat s 2.5

yes
i have the same car also with 73k miles would change for a manual in a heart beat... 2014 is a great year for passats they are solid
Im sitting in my 2014 VW Passat and it currently has 107,558 miles and still runs well. I love it. I’m thinking of doing some mods to it.
I have a manual gearbox 2014 Passat Estate 2 litre diesel in the UK. A vehicle with 73k on the clock may be due a new timing belt ( and water pump) . Factor that in the price.
Does anyone know how to fix a jammed fuel cap
Also when you get out of the vehicle windows are down you can hold down the lock button on the door handle and it will close all the windows

I was able to set my key to open and close windows Via Carly device. Thanks for video I have 2017 R line

I have a 2013 Passat is a 3.6 the transmission is a DSG its so efficient but I need to take care of it
Just found this channel I’m thinking about buying a 2016 Volkswagen passat 1.8T S Sedan 4Dare these car’s reliable or they have tons of issues.
Make sure the fuel pumps and water pumps are replaced
My 2013 starting procedure is normal turn the key to start foot on or off the brake.
also keep your finger on the lock button on your key it will put all your windows up same if you hold the unlock button {well they do in europe} also i don't know if this model is the same but on mine if you keep the button from face vents and the ac button pressed it will recalibrate the vents inside the dash

the passat NMS is USDM and made in the states
Wrong. Most automatic cars you must put the brake on before starting the car.
I wonder why i dont have to on my 09 cc. It'll start without hitting the brake. And i have the keyless push start
@wadebradley7388 15 years ago? You expect keyless start on a tractor built 15 years ago?

Great info..Thanks
R u the same guy from driven?
I thought passat had 6 speed DSG. Please clarify.
The 3.6 and the diesel do but not the 2.5 5 cyl

The steering wheel offset is unconscionable. Saving cost? Seriously?
You are being over dramatic. I barely notice it.
I've driven other cars that are similar.
I would never have noticed the offset had it not been brought to my attention. No big deal.
I have a 2012 Passat and my steering wheel/cloumn is dead nuts centered. Maybe yours was in a wreck.😂 These cars are crap by the way. Huge disappointment . Especially for a German engineered vehicle
Can't convince me they're anything but excellent machines. Level of diligent maintenance could be a factor
