The old man seems super interesting. Give Raina major props for the Violin music. What a great gal!!!
I have had many great people who were skilled in trades, that inspire me. I ended up. In dental technology as a career. So I learned lost wax casting. So while I worked on teeth, I also learned basic jewelry and machine parts casting, even made old parts to restore metal moldings. My first wife studied at Parson's school in NYC, so our home was filled with creative ideas. She passed away a few years ago, but she helped pass on the love for creating to our sons. Now I finally have a wood shop that does not need to move outside to work. Thanks for the videos. While I may not do any machining, your love for making inspires me and other to go and try.
I think I like the vlogs almost more than the build videos. I learn something new with every one of them.
Jimmy, You are the Mike Rowe of Making. Videos like this just show your care for makers everywhere.
That 70 year old man looks like a badass.
That 70 year old man is not scared of Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris is scared of him. :)
from 17 to 70.... woah....
He sounds like legacy unsung.
Jeremy 505 hahahaha that sums him up perfectly
Strange his Dad was so literate yet he cant read. Dyslexia perhaps or a couple of generations previous throwback?
He should make a youtube channel
Raina can sure play that violin. Great talent at such a young age👍
I second the fiddle complement! Something really pleasing and different on Jimmy's vlogs. Where can we hear more of her fiddling?
It's taken years off you! So many projects, always fascinating to watch.
Jimmy , you are the most interesting man in the world
So strange....I was just going to say the same thing! And you are right. Hope he answers one of my craigslist ads someday!
Ori ginOfNight - Place a fake add for a cheap Bridgeport mill, and by the end of the month every maker would have called ya for a chat.
You make a point. Remembering why I rarely actually use CL. :-0)
hahahah illl be there
6:44 Free Willie!
I usually don't dig Vlogs but I love these, they're so well made and the content is always interesting. Guess it helps to have an interesting life.
I love these vlogs, the glimpses of other makers in different disciplines are really inspiring.
Seriously miss your build videos. Please make more, and the 1900 machine looks awesome. Film every thing from every angle. Looking forward to it.
The reverse stamp was clean, really clean. I wasn't expecting the linework to be so clear. I envy you Mr Diresta, love your vids and drive.
Fletcher is a great guy, and a remarkable metalworker - I live near him. I echo his remarks about Gordon Anderson - he was a wonderful man and amazing mechanic and machinist. Good video.
Jimmy, this video was one of the best you have ever made. What a wonderful look into your thoughts, your friends, and your interests. Thanks you so much.
Love the vlogs jimmy. Love the snapshot into your world. You're the man. I look forward to these each week. Thank you.
Jimmy, I had to stop about 3/4 the way through to comment and compliment you. I really love the life these vlogs have developed. they are really getting better and better each one. loving it! Thanks for being committed to the community and your fans.
The world needs more people lime the Craigslist dude and his collection of machinery.
Jimmy, I absolutely love your kitchen faucet! The brass looks phenomenal, and those handles are beautiful!
This vlog was an absolute pleasure to watch! Thanks Jimmy!

Really enjoyed the violin! Bring her back often!
Consistent in shit screws. Thank u for keeping us updated on the building, And i'm always amazed at the amount of empty or buildings that are not used for a long time. wish i could find one where i live.
Fletcher needs to be in the movies. He is one cool dude .
One for your bucketlist: building/making a violin 🎻 👍🏼
Wow. Nice playing, could easily listen to that all day.
I really love the progression of the quality and style of these vlogs Jimmy! I mean WOW. This one was so capturing and smooth and lovely.
This is one of my favorite Diresta VLOG. Great music, interesting characters, and fun cinematography. Thank you.
PeeRay 18 thank you !!
Thanks for another cool vlog. That cat Fletcher seems so interesting, sounds like he has stories for days.
Your explanations about the HERO action figure including the packaging to fun to hear, and your philosophy explanation was also great. Thanks for simply being REAL... allowing us to know what you're thinking and how you make decisions. Great stuff! Loved the violin music too!!!! Keep 'em coming! :-))
Man... I don't have any idea about making things or the work you do. I watch your videos and vlogs because they are so much satisfying to watch...
"Thank you for being consistent." I laughed.

Leffler for leather in Melbourne. Amazing wharehouse sized store. They sell everything to do with leather. Finding these gems is such an asset

Great music, old machinnery, randon stories, keep doing this kind of video, they are not what we call in Brazil ''encher linguiça''.
Great video, I have applied for an I MAKE plate in Louisiana. I will keep you posted.
Good luck with the move! A lot of work but always exciting to start up in a new shop :) The power hammer is awesome! I just bought my first 'real' anvil so I'm excited to do some more blacksmithing.. or what I'm calling blacksmithing at least :p
Also, I love the violin. And chickens.
Come to rapid city SD and hang out in my little shop! Iv learned so much from you the past year. Thanks for everything bro
I'm glad the package made it to you man. Enjoy it!
+Lil Doggy thank you brother!!
Raina's proud subscriber. What a girl

sunglasses...movie star syndrom!!! :D
You're still so amazing, don't worry!!!
That 70 old man...a great example!!
I'll dig through my power hammer stuff. I think I have a manual for the Dupont. It is a real good machine. Make sure to get the brake working. Bob
dude you should have a conversation with Alec Steele about your mechanical banger. he's insanely positive and his love of blacksmithing is contagious.
Awesome vid - so interesting!
nice I'm glad you got my little package cheers
Imagine a podcast with that movie's voice man talking about blacksmithing...
Great to see Spike and you.LOL! Try sleep it's great for the eyes!
Glad to help Jimmy! 👍
Thank you brother!
love the new look jimmy
genio gracias por los vídeos
really like these vlogs.. those knives were SIIICK!
The violin was awesome!
Wish I had the time to join you at the hammer in, sad part is it's only about 20 minutes from my front door. Oh well, maybe next year. Tandy has a store front in Nyack if you get there once in a while. It's kind of nice to be able to see what you're buying instead of getting a piece of leather picked off a shelf by someone you don't know. The problem with me going to tandy is it costs me $200 every time I walk through the doors.
I dont understand nothing what he say, but i love this channel and I want be like them
You need to spend a couple weeks with Fletcher, the metal worker. Wow, what an interesting man. Love the video of his shop!!!! I have no idea what most of his equipment does, but I'm impressed. It would be nice to find some young people to mentor with him so he can pass on some of the skills. Thanks Jimmy.
You've lost a year or two when you trimmed your beard bro! :-D Making progress in all areas, it sounds like. Keep going Jimmy, loving all that you do!
holy cow. almost 1mil subs!
70 years old!? W O W!
Your the man. Hope to meet you someday bro!
Did you consider sealing the concrete floor on your new shop? Concrete has a tendency to "dust" constantly which get into machinery, finishes, etc.
Man, you shaved the beard just when I was perfecting my JD look alike shot! Ha ha..... Another great video sir!
Thanks for the blogs Jimmy... How you gonna close up the shop in the city? Any fanfare? Live show? Concert?
there's a tandy leather store like 10 minutes from where i live. i've been here 20 years and i never knew that until i googled it just now. wild.
Hi Jimmy, i am Roy from The Netherlands and you are a true inspiration for me. You inspired me to start making things and i watch your clips a lot. It drives my girlfriend crazy;). Thanks a lot for the inspiration. But i also have a question, how can i get my hands on a diresta sticker? I want to put one on my drillpress, as a reminder to be creative and make things. Gr. Roy
Such a nice video
