    We as riders have to come together and commit to not giving KTM a single cent of our money until they get rid of their demo modes. If we don't, other companies will absolutely follow suit once they see they can get away with it.

    ADV’s are quickly becoming the motorcycle version of SUV’s that never see dirt or gravel.
    Already they are becoming clones of one another.

    • @axellness
      @axellness Год назад +4

      Good analogy

    • @user-qv5lr1sy9o
      @user-qv5lr1sy9o Год назад +2

      Most ADVs are actually capable of offroading and the ADV concept does offer better wind protection and comfort than e.g. a sport tourer. ADVs also don't consume more fuel unlike many SUVs. The BMW R1250 GS and R Roadster have the same fuel economy of 4,75l/100km. My dad owned a R100 GS and he loved it. Thanks to him I tried out ADVs instead of just going with the (admittedly) cooler looking sportbikes. The point of these bikes becoming clones of one another is only true for the middle class bikes because price pressure is so high that Manufacturers can't let their imagination flow. No crazy engines or chassis. These times are over.

    • @chadkline4268
      @chadkline4268 Год назад +4

      So? Maybe the buyer won't, but the owners after the original will. Also, there are many urban situations that require ADV performance that do not apply to SUVs, such as going down trails along railroad tracks, jumping curbs and other obstructions, checking out a little path along a river, etc. There are many cases for a bike that are 99/1 on/off, but that 1 is essential. The modern ADV is just an all purpose do-it-all bike fairly similar to the average 70s bike. The difference today is that everything is becoming specialized, and really, the ADV is just the non specialized of the lot. ADV bikes are just the average bike. They're not the specialized sport bike, nor the specialized tourer, nor the specialized dirt bike, they are just the average do-it-all go-anywhere general purpose bike, and I hope things like the TransAlp, 800DE, and F850GS sell like hotcakes and flood the market. These are bikes I've been waiting for for years: midsize twins that do not restrict where I want to go: far or near, on or off. That is what I call a proper motorcycle.

    I would really like to see (I know it's not easy) reviews regarding the durability and resistance of these bikes on long trips. We always have evaluations about performance, torque, electronics etc. etc. but we never find anything about fatigue, breaks, durability, percentage of breaks (fracture) and defects, electronic breakdowns etc etc. As a Tiger user for over 8 years and thousands and thousands of kilometers on many adventures throughout South America and the Amazon, I can guarantee that the Tiger is indestructible, giving you a lot of security and peace of mind that you will leave and return with the same bike. I see many "" bizarre "" reports and stories regarding the fragility of certain brands that compete with Triumph. I'm afraid to deal with a specific brand. Please, where are the evaluations about durability, resistance, or is this not important for someone who is going to make a trip of 12,000 km?

    I bought a 2020 KTM 790 Adventure S in 2020. I was a little torqued that they came out with the 890 the next year because it made me think my bike was just less. It's funny to me that they're making the 790 again. Perhaps the 790 (actually 800) is the sweet spot. I did pay for the Rally mode (which I don't care for - too abrupt), quick shifter, cruise control and got heated grips. I got them one at a time. The advantage was that the out the door price was about $1,000 less than it would have been had they all been there (I guess). The KTM regularly gets between 55 and 60 MPG and will go about 130 MPH in stock gearing which is way more than enough for me. The tank under the engine thing really does make it fun off road where I've got about 4,000 miles so far with another 5,000 on asphalt.

    Every company is now looking to shove operating costs into everything. It started with software that you can no longer acquire, but you need to rent.
    Car manufacturers are also getting creative with features that you will need to pick and pay monthly to activate. Such as seat warming? seriously? purchasing a car will be as obscure as a plane ticket. You will get a base price, and you will need to pay add-ons monthly for features that used to be included before. Such as seat and steering heating.
    We should expect the concept to migrate to motorbikes too. KTM marketing team is testing the waters by making a one time sell of additional features; in the future, you can expect to pay monthly.

    How else can they afford to ward off the invasion of those dangerous Taiwanese invaders? How else could the Chinese government afford to restrict other countries from the South China Sea? Forget the bullying complaints by the other seven or eight nations using the same waterways, after all it is called the South China Sea so it must belong to China.

    Great video! It is interesting that none of the bikes are shaft drive. I wonder why? There needs to be more shaft options. Second, I am surprised Triumph is not in here some how. I do like the MV Lucky for some reason. Which Mid Adventure would you recommend for mostly street riding? Any of these or others? Have you tested the MV yet?

    Hey my RUclips friend, No mention of the BMW GS ? Did I miss something ? Or is that a different category, or not a channel supporter 😆. Just kidding.

    All these ADV bikes are too heavy bikes in my personal opinion.
    Everything weighing more than 145 kg dry is inadequate for off roading.
    You could have mentioned great ADV bikes like:
    Husqvarna 701 enduro
    Kove 450 Rally
    Fantic motor XEF Rally
    AJP PR7 650
    These are much more valuable bikes for the money and fun to ride on adventure trails than the heavyweight models shown on your video.
    This is just a different way of considering what ADV bike means.

    The demo mode is dogsh*t idea. KTM should demo mode their entire company to others. Let's see how they like that.

    I have to wonder; BMW quotes a list price on their bikes, but all the ones brought into the US are fully loaded, so if you want one you end up paying $2-3k over MSRP and no one complains. Now KTM quotes a list price, and you can actually buy it for MSRP and then add the the options you want, and everyone looses their mind about it. 🤔
