The new and improved Tiger 900 pushed me over the edge, and over a year of indecision I finally pulled the trigger and put down some money for the 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro. Ive been trying to pick between the Desert X, Husqvarna Norden 901 and the Tiger 900 for over a year. I feel like they really hit the sweet-spot this time around with the new updates! So from now on im officially a Tiger owner xD
I'm in the same position. I had a deposit on a 900 RP, but pulled it when I test rode the Desert X (still have the deposit there for one of them). I think the new 900 RP addresses some of the reasons why I was drawn to the Desert X, but I'm going to wait to test ride them back to back before handing over the rest.
Congrats ! I spent 2 -3 yrs researching which bike to get. I ended up with a 2023 Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I LOVE IT. The few things that bother me a bit about it, have all been updated in the new 2024?!?!?! Dangit LOL. YOu cannot go wrong with this bike. You'll love it.
@@szeriman13 I can, of course, only answer for myself. I enjoy going off road every now & then, nothing too technical but certainly stuff where I could use some more suspension travel than my current 800 has. It can handle most of that but I had it bottom out a few times. That would be the main reason for me to go for the Rally. I also think it looks better. As I said, just my opinion.
Vs nx500, it's only a grand more but gets you more a smoother parallel twin which might be better for touring and it still weighs the same as the himalayan
Gotta say, no one has understood the adventure touring bike segment better than suzuki, the people riding adventure bikes actually just need a good touring bike. And the little off road they do can actually be done with any street bike, that's why 800re makes so much sense Edit:- TransAlp too, its much more road focused than before and against Tenere

In Vietnam you can buy any generic 125 bike for less than 1000 USD. I purchased a new Honda wave 125 last year in Thailand for 40,000 THB. (£900) And that included a free helmet and Jacket. A baseball cap and a rice cooker! They also delivered it for free 20 miles away. My point is we are being ripped off for bikes in this country. When will manufacturers realise if they sold them cheaper they would sell more.
Bruh, you're comparing the tiny 125cc bikes against middleweight and fullsize bikes. Get out of here lmao. Why don't you be fair and start comparing how much big capacity bikes are selling in ASEAN regions?
I think you are way out of touch for what you are getting on these bikes. I have $10,000 worth of upgrades on my bike. Why would I ever think I could buy a bike itself for close to that cheap, that does what I need it to do? I had a 125 when I was 10 yrs old.
You're absolutely right buddy, you can buy a Royal Enfield in India starting from 1.6 lacs Indian rupee, which is like less than $2000 USD!!! And Enfield is a solid bike. Watch out some videos and you can see it for yourself.
I thought the Africa Twin had a decent engine update too. Torque is now even lower down. Having a flatter torque curve is great and hard to achieve without sacrificing KW. Should be a great update
I would still take the KTM 890 Adventure R or the Rally. It is a dream to ride on and off road. It is really easy to reconfigure to long road cruising by adding the bigger windscreen from the Adventure to it. Also, in spite of always being told how unreliable KTM is, I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT and it has run flawlessly. It is also extremely easy to service and I do all of that myself, including tire changes and balancing. My particular favorite aspect of the bike is it's ability to go off-roading and I like it much better than my BMW GS 1150 or my Yamaha Tenere that I have owned, which are also good. I hope to own my KTM for many more years to come, we will see.
