This was a family oriented series with high emphasies on high moral values and friendship values eroded and lost in American society and also my homeland society. That's why I still enjoy very much watching again the Bonanza series episodes and I'm over 60 yrs old now. God bless for showing it.
I have been watching Bonanza since I was a kid here in my native Puerto Rico. Fortunately this series was exceptionally dubbed in Spanish in Puerto Rico, most of the series episodes. I think some were re-dubbed in Mexico and the worst ones were redubbed, unfortunatelly inSpain. Along with Gunsmoke, these were the best and most enjoyable series on t.v.
Adam was written off the show by 1967. Pernell Roberts left the series toward the end of the 1964-65 season, "Bonanza" lasted another 7 1/2 years -- and remained a top-rated show most of those years -- despite his departure.
@@wmbrown6 , not quite. Dear Dinah was booted out. Based in part on surveys conducted at dealerships throughout the country, Chevrolet decided to fully sponsor BONANZA in the coveted Sunday 9 PM - 10 PM slot. NBC execs fretted that the Cartwrights would lose their significant small fry audience watching Saturday nights at 7:30. The youngsters begged their parents to let them stay up a little later apparently, as BONANZA zoomed to number 2 in the ratings its first season on Sundays and reached number 1 three years later, where it remained for an unprecedented three years in a row. Sorry, Dinah. Mmmwah! 😘
@OldsVistaCruiser Fromthesidleines (and you) are incorrect about the pickups. The redesign was introduced for the 1967 model year (as did Ford for its pickups). Search for BEWITCHED--CHEVROLET--1967. You should find an ad touting a special "Pacesetter" Camaro (honoring its Indy 500 pace car selection) which also says there are special Pacesetter deals on Chevy pickups--and it is the new style shown.
Those 2nd-generation Chevy vans were made from 1967-70 (a 1st-generation was made 1964-66). In 1971, a bigger 3rd-generation came out, and with minor changes, that body style lasted all the way to 1996.
In all probability, this was a 1967 summer repeat, 'tom'- probably in early September, which is when Chevy would have officially introduced their "new" 1968 model trucks...
well this exdplains how why i see in the documentary on reelz about michael landons cause of death, a 67 or 68 1 ton chevy dually production filming truck. damn wish could get m hands on that truck, these 67 and 68 duallies are my all time number one fav and soiught after trucks, i am building one from scratch right now,. and have wned a few over the years, wish could find nay more around here in central IL. none any more.. rare,. even just nay parts at all, frames, body parts, smalls , anything. h mm..
@fromthesidelines is correct. This is most likely a rerun. However, the 1968 Chevy pickups were light-years ahead of the 1967s in styling, which used the long-outdated body introduced for 1960, which had looked dated as early as 1962. Unfortunately, the best-looking trucks Chevy ever fielded only lasted from 1968-1972, when the rust-prone (and unattractive) 1973 body style came out, which lasted all the way to 1987.
1967 was the first new body. dunno where you got incorrect info from. 67 and 68 were identical other than a couple very small minor exterior things. and last two years for steel painted grilles on the chevies.
Me & my grandson lucciano would watch this it's 1 of my favorite shows. Thanks Almighty heavenly Father YAHUWAH & you're only brought fourth son our king & savior YAHUWSHUAH.

BONANZA 😢 estaba muy pequeño cuando veía ese programa 😢una de mi series favoritas I remember
love this show... especially the lost episodes
this is how I remember the show with the Chevy sponsorship, great stuff, thank you
Way cool! I looked for evidence of that Chevy branding iron on the bonanza intro forever and here it is on yt. Thanks for the upload!

John Dupont he’s the only one that actually lived a fairly long life compared to the rest of the cast
@@dondressel4802 - Leaving may've saved his life, who knows.
The episode “ Sound of Drums” has similar starting scene about this Italian Rossi ( same actor) celebrating his new land with the Cartrights. 😁
This ad was for the 1968s but the 1967 was the total redesign. Mostly, the 68 only added side reflectors.
Ironic, in a sense. I just saw this VERY EPISODE (for the ump-teenth time) the other day on one of the "MILLIONS" of channels that run Bonanza!!
Chevrolet leased the 9:00pm hour timeslot from 1957 to 1972 which has only two shows in the slot, and the longest of which is Bonanza (1961-1972).
3:57 - I wonder if that branding iron is preserved somewhere?
Chevrolet was the primary sponsor of the series during its Sunday night run, from 1961 through 1972. This episode originally aired on March 26, 1967.
"Bonanza" well may have owed its ultimate long run to the fact that, in '61, Dinah Shore relinquished that time slot and moved to another.

i remember the smoking chevrolet sign whenever this show came on
The episode was broadcast on 26 March 1967!

This is really cool but I want to see what this show’s unedited Sponsor opening looked like for it’s earlier seasons..
Check out the DVDs of the earlier seasons as they have extras of openings and cast commercials.
I'd rather see a faded film print than a "RUclips kinescope" that someone taped off a TV screen.

Where is Adam??
The pickups and vans were 1968 models, introduced in the fall of 1967, so this episode could not have aired before late September.
I believe the announcer's name for Bonanza was Johnny Dark

That can't be the right date, as the announcer clearly states the show is being presented by "the 1968 Chevy Trucks".
