Billy Boy really matured at the end!
When you see Jeb Drummond shoot one of his men in the back at the beginning then you know that this guy is an SOB!.
Ben did too.

A Sharps Rifle in 50-70, 1x or 2x scope that was available at the time, a good shot and at least 100 yards line of sight between the shooter and Drummond would solve that hostage situation right then and there.
Awesome western .
Love bonanza grew up watching this.
my dad is waching bonaza on the tv lol i wach it to such a awsome show
Actors for this episode for those who are interested:
Pernell Roberts - Adam Cartwright
Dan Blocker - Eric 'Hoss' Cartwright
Michael Landon - Joseph 'Little Joe' Cartwright
Lorne Greene - Ben Cartwright
Everett Sloane - Jeb Drummond
Ray Daley - Billy Drummond
Ken Lynch - Collier
Jerry Oddo - Wheeler
Glenn Holtzman - Sam Tucker
Tom Reese - Burton Drummond
I have always loved loved loved Pernell Roberts. He was a great actor and soooooo hot.
Got that right! "Fine as hell!"
Always my favorite!
maybe if you saw him without his wig on...you might think different
I did
when he played Trapper John. He was still hot. Little Joe was way over-rated. Nothng was hotter than Pernell with his shirt off.
Ben was right in this one, you have to fight to get what you want and fight to keep what`s yours. I guess not much has changed today. !!
Mid-Ohio Guardian Greedy American steel your wealth and than fight for it. Just like that crook you have for a president.
Trepassing is wrong wether it is the past or the present
Ethel Hoose it's not trespassing if your welcome. My dad had a big track of land in a desirable place. It had ocean frontage and lots of game. Everyone that ever came on the property to hunt, trap or fish were respectful. Cape Breton Island
another idiuot speaks up...nevada and california are OPEN RANGE states.. any cattle can graze on any unfenced lands and pass thru ,,even today..

Mid Ohio Guardian Is that why so many people get mad with the Government. They steal legally!!!!.

Adam looks good in that red shirt
Adam and little joe are my favorites
Adam is my fav but Hoss is growing very close 2 outrank him.
Best part...Adam gets him with the reverse tea bag!
Yeah...That's because Adam is a card-carrying member of the American
Tea Party organization. He's a REAL American....not a leftist fake. lol
Are you sure it wasn't the frontal coffee bean??? LOL!!!!

My favorite western 💯
Notice this episode is 48 minutes. Today's shows have an additional 10 minute's commercials.
Awesome 👍
"Jeb" played in one of my favorite episodes of Alfred Hitchcock, Our Cook's a Treasure.

Hoss's hat is the BEST camouflage! lol!!!
44:23, Billy doesn't think its right for Jeb to kill the Cartwrights.
Most liked Little Joe but not me. Adam was my first crush. I guess he was only on the first season. I was so disappointed, I remember saying “Where’s Adam?” Thanks for this❤
This is a great show, it's like cowboy Star Trek. Ben was outta whack in this one, Adam was right, I'm glad he came to his senses.
Harry Back Ben should not have sent Adam out there by himself. He saw what happened when Drummond was stopped by one of the ranch hands.

Notice how he took the fired shotgun shell out but didn't replace it with a live round.
Ben should not have told Adam to help with the sheep. Bad move.. ADAM IS USUALLY RIGHT.
It's revealed here that the Ponderosa covers 50,000 acres. That's 78 square miles. That's a real big spread of land.
Yea and it's all ours!👌🏾
nevada and california are OPEN RANGE states.. any cattle can graze on any unfenced lands and pass thru ,,even today..
ben cartwright is wrong
@Rosey01222. Actually it was mentioned in two previous episodes that the Ponderosa is 1000 square miles. Examples of the poor writing, inconsistencies and implausibilities that riddle Bonanza. Dortort bought scripts as and when from different writers, hence the inconsistencies, implausibilities, contradictions and poor story development. He claimed to hv gone through all the scripts with a fine tooth comb. His comb must hv been missing a lot of teeth!
Mind boggling to own so much land 1'000 miles
Like watching this show
When the good and the bad meet..we know who the winner is.
Syaiful Bahri meant to see some he sale James
It makes no sense that Adam would ride out by himself. In real life when faced with this situation he would be going out with a lot of heavily armed men hoping for the best but prepared for the worst!!!
Well, that's because it's a fictional show, not a documentary and it's more dramatic for him to ride out alone than with a giant posse.
Posse wouldn't accompany him. There is no legal reason. Everyone defends their own. Ben knows.
true!!!
Historically, there have been sheep in Nevada.
thx for sharing one of my favorite childhood tv series! Just wondering what happened to that great legendary intro theme? Is there a legal argument that not bringing it to digital version? This intro is so lame
Como pode uns filmes tão maravilhosos desses falam em outras linguas escreve - se em outra lingua parece que nem foi feito prá nós português
A classic
Adam is my man!!
Gonna kill me some Cartwrights, lol!!
I agree with Adam! Let the law handle it
Season 1 ben Cartwright was a mean one
Amo essa série quando dublado
Love how campy these shows were!. One minute they're talking about calling the sheriff and obeying the law, the next minute they're shooting people. Such a high body count, never one single funeral is worth filming...
@Paul Kryder Yeah, those were all macho TV shows. Tombstone Territory probably glorified that body count more than all, always reminding viewers of its evergrowing local cemetery.
Especially if a Cartwright fell in love witha women... she was dead before the end of that episode.
Just how did Ben Cartwright come into owning all that land ? Did they ever make an episode about the Cartwright/Ponderosa origin story ?
Enjoy watching Bonanza

Private property, banks. . . I never saw the truth behind the security of the "Cartwright Ranch" in my early years. They always seems so righteous. Not no much, now. Why NOT let others bring their sheep or goats, whatever, through their hundreds or thousands of acres?
Well, Ben stated the reasons why. The sheep would eat and damage the pasture enough to cause ruin. You speak of private property as it's some kind of negative but it has instead enriched our civilizations. It's no coincidence that the wealthiest nations on the planet also have the best private property protections in place.
I can see why sheep and cattle don't mix, as sheep will eat the grass right down to the nubbins, that leave nothing for cattle. But if it were me, I would leave a right--of-way, a specific passage for sheep to travel through to get from point A to point B that would least affect grazing area of the cattle. One gains more in the long-run by working with others, and respecting each others, boundaries.
Eat too much grass apparently....
93Jubilee. Wow, I just learned this I had never seen Ben, act so righteous, hard, but I get it this was his role to play, act. His 3 sons also played their parts great, Adam, going against his pa, for the 1ST time, his brothers keeping quiet. This was the writers creative plan all along.
The guy that plays Billy reminds me of a young Christopher Lloyd.
best sitcom comedy ever
Usually I don’t say ‘thanks for the upload’ cuz I think it’s insanely pointless, obviously I appreciate it if I’m watching it.....
But being that I’ve seen so many good uploads from pizza flix I will say for once- THANK YOU :)
Hello how are u
0:53, Burton doesn't want to go against the Cartwright, so Jeb shoots him dead.
Pernell Robert's was the best in this show.
Yes he was.
Agree. And after he left home, my interest went with him. I barely watched any further than episode 197.
Like so many other shows if it were not for the big men Bonanza wouldn't have been or be what it is had it not been for Dan Blocker. Rest in peace Hoss..
NOOOO..He was not. Everyone else was MUCH BETTER!
Hold on, adam. Im coming to save you!
They're fucking with re wrong boys "The Cartwights?" It's gonna be some shootin' going on or ass kicking one.
Strays...the two legged kind!
They're the only kind I can't rescue! I love rescuing the four-legged kind ❤️🐕🐈🐁🐒
"Gots ta learn tu killa man once u draw on em'"
That was nice how he helped the boy
You mean how he used and blackmailed Billy.
25:25, Cartwright and his 3 sons confront Drummond.
The whole episode was about someone trying to take something from Ben Cartright that didn't belong to him. So what does the old man do? Turns around and gives one of the scallawags a piece of his land, that doesn't make much sense. Plus what does Ben think the guy is going to do, take up cattle ranching? Not likely, all he knows is sheep, so the Cartrights end up with a sheepherder as a neighbor anyway.
The whole episode was someone trying to take something about from ben cartwtight that didnt belong to .so what does Ranre

Michael was very quick in making decisions many was not good
He did not heard the advice of his friend.
That scene from 10:00 - 11:08 basically encapsulates in a nutshell why Pernell Roberts left Bonanza. If you listen to what Adam is saying and how he is eventually put down by his father is what was going on behind the scenes with Pernell Roberts. He felt restricted by the role and his inability to go beyond it's limitations of script and character. He was a bit of a pain at times on set, but from what I gather, no more so than Michael Landon who was a bit of a control freak.
@Sebastian Saville. You hit the nail on the head. Roberts argued with the producer about the quality of the show. He cd be difficult with directors he thought inept by even throwing scenes and arguing about the banal, cringing writing. But he wanted the show to be better. Landon on the other hand returned Dortort’s goodwill by wresting control of the show after Roberts’ departure. He wanted to do his own stunts but demanded separate payment for it. He was so insecure he had two potential regulars written off the show. He was intimidated by the good-looking Barry Coe who played his half brother Clay Stafford and was considered as a potential regular but Landon objected. He felt similarly threatened by Guy Williams who was to replace Roberts as Will Cartwright. Williams was good-looking and popular esp since he had just completed Zorro and had a huge fan following, but Landon objected and he was also written out of the show. When Roberts left, Landon, Greene and Blocker insisted no new Cartwright be introduced. Landon gleefully claimed “When Pernell left, we removed one leaf from the table and split his salary and residuals among the three of us.”
That's something I wasn't aware of; thanks for that!
Thank you for your thoughts on Pernell Roberts. For some reason the show didn't appreciate the manliness that added to Bonanza.
Totally agree with you. And I am glad that Pernell go away from the show, for himself, to live what he wanted to live, and become a freelance actor. I watch only the seasons 1-6 with Pernell .
My favorite was pernell Roberts second was Michael landon
@theothertroll: Sounds like karma for Billy's slapping Adam.
no land owner in those days would mess around with the likes of that sheep man...property WAS THE LAW...a mans land his horse etc....were not subject to barter...and no law would ever punish a man for defending his possessions...that sheep herder and his men...would have been given an hour to get off the land or face the gun......
youre an idiot..nevada and california are OPEN RANGE states.. any cattle can graze on any unfenced lands and pass thru ,,even today..
