A stranger arrives in town on a mission to avenge his own father's murder, takes a liking to Ben, and comes to their defense. Кино
What an awesome episode! Back in the '50s-'60s, Dan 'Hoss' Blocker was one of my boyhood heroes, not only because of his roll as 'Hoss' but also because of his heroic record in The Korean War and the fact that he was a great and loving father and loyal friend. 'Hoss' was a Real Texan, Born in 1928 in De Kalb, Texas to a poor farm family, Dan Blocker was large from the day he was born... At an astonishing fourteen pounds at birth, to this day Dan Blocker remains to be the largest baby ever born in Bowie County, Texas! He attended Texas Military Institute afterward, Dan was in the United States Army during the Korean War. He served well as an infantry sergeant in F Company, 2nd Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division in Korea, from December 1951 to August 1952. He earned a Purple Heart for wounds in combat. In addition to the Purple Heart, Blocker received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze campaign stars, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Korean War Service Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. I remember and admired his acting career in everything from "Gunsmoke," "Playhouse 90," "Cheyenne," "Tales of Wells Fargo," "The Restless Gun," "Maverick," "The Rifleman," and "Zane Grey Theater," just to mention a few. Standing at a height of 6’4″ and weighing over 300 lbs, Dan once said “Being big has its advantages, especially when you’re doing the rounds of the agents’ offices. They don’t forget you in a hurry.” After his untimely death at age 43 in 1972, Dan Blocker’s body was returned to DeKalb, Texas, the place of his birth; where his remains were buried under a plot with a marker that simply reads "Blocker". However, in nearby O’Donnel, Texas, a memorial to Dan Blocker was erected in 1973. A bust of Dan is located in a small park called "Heritage Plaza", in which a plaque reads “Thanks to film Hoss Cartwright will live, but all too seldom does the world get to keep a Dan Blocker.” America would do well to remember him for his kind heart.
I never knew that, thank you I believe that if I'd known him he be my friend as well.

@@patriciafarias4177 Is this how you spend your time, writing gibberish in RUclips comment sections? That's just sad.
This is not gibberish. Knowing stuff about these eternally best cowboys could help people. You seem despondent.
before he was a actor he taught school. Football player. Dan Blocker Beach is in Santa Monica
Bonanza was a great show with great stories and great actors. Seems to have really good fans too..

"I Loved Him as Dad, to Everyone Else He Was Vic" (Carrie Morrow 1850 Outpost Dr, Hollywood, California 90068) .. .Vic Morrow February 14 1929 - July 23rd 1982 R. I. P [Brother Man] .. .
Sad how he died.
Y7 no bbn
Vic Morrow turned this ep into the best one of all 14 years the series ran
From one of the greatest western fiction writers of all time--Clair Huffaker--and a top veteran director, Christian Nyby (The Thing). One of the best episodes of the whole series!
One of the Greatest Episodes And Vic Morrow Is Fantastic in this story💙😇😁
Hoss is my HERO, Vic Morrow sits next to him😥RIP. Bonanza and Combat, my favorites since I was a kid.
A lot of values in this particular show were portrayed. Vic Morrow stood out...
He died doing the movie Twilight Zone at a young age.
@@dennisbresee5403 He was born the day of the St. Valentines Day Massacre, 2-14-1929 and died the day before I got married. 7-23-1982. And yes, he was to young.
When asked if he's a friend of the Cartwrights, he says yes immediately, knowing he's in a saloon full of people who hate them. That's the kind of friend you wanna have
Bethany Campione h
Bethany Campione Exactly right.

Whoa Now That is One of the Best Episode's I've Seen Thus Far Wow I Never Knew the Name of the Guy Who Was Hunting Them Mofo's, I Remember Him as a Kid Probably From the Rifleman or Some Other Western, But I Know's His Name Now Vic Morrow What a Guy a Smooth And Gracious Actor And the Look's to Boot Just Wow Freakin' Wow .. .
Think he was on show combat
Abraham Mclean
He played on a war series called "THE GALLANT MEN" and other war series shows. HE WAS A WONDERFUL ACTOR. HE WAS TRAGICLY KILLED MAKING A MOVIE WITH A FEW YOUNG ACTORS WHEN A HELICOPTER ROTOR BLADE STRUCK AND BEHEADED HIM. IT WAS A BIG LOSS TO HOLLYWOOD....
Abraham Mclean
He also played in "COMBAT" which me and my brothers used to watch all the time. It was a war series and our father was military. "THE RAT PATROL" was another one. Fighting Germans in the DESERT. Good shows back then!!
Seen this episode twice - Good episode
Another great episode.
The incomparable Mister Vic Morrow.
This episode served as a pilot for a spin-off westerns series with Vic Morrow as the lead.
Mike Powers - Do you perhaps remember the name of that series?
They made this pilot/episode but it was never picked up as a series.
Mike Powers. Pity about that. Thanks for the answer.
I was wondering about this being a pilot should have been picked up
I first saw this episode when I was about 4 years old.... it never made a lot of sense until I was older, but I would always watch this tape becuz I really liked Vic Morrow... Even today, i think this'll always be one of my favs
Hope that you are watching Combat! It's Vic Morrow's show all the way!.
It's a shame he didn't play the good guy more often. Vic Morrow was amazing
^^^What Year Was this Episode ??? Britt Dale I Was a Kid Also Back in them Day's, and I Alway's Thought of Bonanza In the Back of My Mind All of These Year's Later .. Hence Why I am Youtubing The Show's Now When I'm At the Tender Sweet Age Of 60 lol:P .. .
Ben was the father we all wanted, me at least.
That has to be the calmest sheriff in the entire Wild West! “That’s enough shootin....yaaawwnn”
Gkh
Bahaaaaa!!!!!
VicMorrow. A superb actor ! Father of Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Good
vic schoot haast zijn plasser er af met die revolver in zijn broekband,
Sure about that?
When I was a kid I never really liked this one. I always thought it was a strange. Watching it this time though as an adult it was actually quite good. Thanks for sharing it
True friends are hard to find in this world now days not like it was back than grew up watching this with Dad and Mom still do on RUclips and movies
Watching this reminds me of my grand mother #RIP #ABUELA ❤️
Might be the best episode in the series...Morrow was cool as hell...
I have been a fan of these series for many decades, and I remember asking my oldest sister years back, why wasn’t there ever any blacks on here and her answer was because they are not fond of blacks but then I went on to watch touched by an angel and little house on the prairie and I knew little Joe, must have felt different!! Don’t know if what my sister told me was true but color really makes no difference to me, good actors and actresses, can’t be faked.
good show
Good Intro for Vic. Good episode. But the woman should be punished.
Good show
Passions
P
What a cool, exceptional personality, Vic Moro had, even more so than James Dean, or Steve McQueen, a great talent that was taken away, way to early .
Great Episode!
Just love it. Mamas home cookin and daddy's Westerns. .🤠💕🇺🇲
34:27 - THE AVENGER (47:40)
Ah man, best episode that I've seen yet.
a great episode. i am a true Vic Morrow fan RIP Vic Morrow
The man that protected the Cartright was an outstanding man, the woman that falsely accused the Cartright and could have them injustly hang should at least go to jail for five or more years for false witnessing and perjury that could cost the lives of two innocent men: Ben and Adam.
Awesome 🙂
Three reasons why this was one of Bonanza's best episodes: 1) Clair Huffaker wrote a great script; 2) Christian Nyby (who directed the original "The Thing") did a great job directing; 3) and Vic Morrow starred in it.
Beautiful story👍 👌👌✌😍🥰😘
I actually took my family on a tour of the Ponderosa Ranch and the inside of the house located in Incline Village, Nevada near Lake Tahoe really enjoyed it. Place closed and was sold in 2004 .
Vic Morrow was a great actor. RIP
Little Joe is really young here. No wonder he got upset when Lassiter told him to take it easy kid.
Thanks guys these are some favorites
Cartwrights will never be killed, it would end the series. When Hoss died in real life at age 40 , that killed the series.
Guy in the box: Confounded Cartwrights! Lol!!
E difícil imaginar nossos heróis. Presos e ainda para ser. Enforcados mais deu.tudo certo.⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had forgotten what enormous ears Michael Landon had!
I wish I had a nickel for every time one of the Cartwright's was wrongfully jailed for a crime they didn't commit.
I like Vic Morrow as a good guy better.
Agree. Both here and on Combat!.
"Somebody I'd hate to be even more. Anyone of the men he's looking for". The word avenger fits huh?
Vic Morrow is the personification of a true man.
Cool yes cool . Real actor action suspense.
#VicMorrow must have been born cool.
I think he started as a #stuntman before becoming an actor/ star, could be wrong.
Well no one has said it so I'll put it out there.
Him and two Vietnamese children, he was actually holding the small boy in his arms, were killed when an explosive effect caused a helicopter to virtually crash right on top of them. All three were instantly killed and both #Morrow and the boy were decapitated. Horrific.
It was 82', or 1983, the Twilight Zone movie John Landis was directing, #Morrow was 53 yrs old.
I'm sure all of you know this already.
There is footage, here on #RUclips. Warning, it is very GRAPHIC. He was a very talented actor and I guess he died doing what he loved to do.
Thanks for posting #Bonanza
Good
Vic Morrow never fails to add veracity to the character he portrays.
Vic Morrow sure knew how to steal the show.
It was because of his great acting ability.
He was and you can really see it in this episode. He is on another level compared to the rest and they were good themselves. From what I understand in the show Combat Vic stole the show away from the guy who played the captain who was supposed to be the main character.
I did see Vic in some stuff as he got older but he was not as good. He was still good but he looked like he might have partied too much and did not take care of himself.
Vic Morrow (Sgt. Saunders) was supposed to be second to Rick Jason (LT. Hanley) in Combat!. However his natural acting abilities quickly made him the more popular character and they became equal stars on the show. Vic remained the more popular of the two.
Thank you for the clarification. I did watch all Combat a while ago. It seemed kinda low budget but was terrific just the same. Had great guest stars as well like Lee Marvin. This was one episode that really stuck with me.

You know, I realized that Little Joe is the only Cartwright never to have made it to the gallows--Pa and Adam and Hoss have, but Little Joe was always cleared before he could be sentenced, and in the Gamble, he escaped first.
@O R They were so used to nearly hanging, that's why! lol
But Joe had to face a firing squad - twice!
My favorite tv series during the 90s
Vic died so tragically.
the great Vic Morrow
he was not so great..here in holland nobody knows him.
Piza Flix :
Bonanza ; The Avenger
Another one of great acting of shedding the moral of this story,...of a man who came into Virgina City,...I'm his own quest, for the wrong hanging of His own father intervened,...in a most appropriate way, to get to the bottom, in the way, the script writers,...had for this man,...to get Sally to fess - up,...a 👍up to the script writers, 😃, one can only imagine, wot a reality, this wudve been, in the century,...of the American West, with people's lives being killed off thru the such of the likes of the lies of many false wittnesses of innocent hangings in that time of life.
Excellent script writers,...😃👍❤.
RIP Vic Morrow AKA Sgt Saunders
It's always fun to spot the actor in Bonanza and wonder where else you saw them? The ruffian for the boss here played the prison warden in 'Take the Money and Run'. Vic Morrow of course was in 'Combat' and later, sadly, passed away during the fateful re-make of the Twilight Zone.
Vic brought a lot to that table. Set a standard for many seasons to follow.
vic morrow in the twilight zone
What's up guys ! Bonanza !
Dang, if this was just a pilot idea for Vic Marrow I would have loved to see what kind of show he would have had. If it was anything like this episode I would have been a huge fan.
Love bonanza.little joe
It always seemed to me this was a pilot for a spinoff Vic Morrows character searching for revevge
Hoss was always the best of em. Keep your hat on, and take a dump before the hangin.
Good old times..
This needs to be a movie or a series just based on this character...
That one creep must be a pyromaniac the way he's playing with those matches.
That's exactly what I thought.
9:13 Good heavens! Joe ("the kid") is always looking for a fight. Now he's chosen hotty Vic Morrow. If Hoss hadn't stopped him, he would have gotten a good beating and I wouldn't have felt sorry for him. Not one bit.
we met before mistah
*10:00** PAIR OF BEDROLLED SHOTGUNS!*
ARQUITECTOSTAR gun smoke(
Sem crítica , não há sucesso!.
those nooses make a lot of noise when u see um DAH DAHHHHHHHHHH LOL'
Don't mess with Sergeant Saunders. They should have known better.
I stopped breathing at 1:38 for fear of an "accident"
A stranger who turn to be a knight for the Cartwright when nobody help the Cartwright . When some people's scare to help. The man in brown short came out from nowhere to help the Cartwright
The part of "Lassiter" is played by Vic Morrow
How come everyone seems to have had to hand their guns in except the baddies and our hero.
Looks like this was setting up for a series with morrow.
One of my favorite shows
Put the chevy commercials back in .
Os melhores filmes não são traduzidos ⁉️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷💯💯💯🥂🥂🥂
43:05, Vic Morrow tries to convince the lady.
That actress is beautiful
God is Love so we. Must love every one because vengeance is not the answer that is why our world is so. fill up with many problems. psalms. 11..5
Little Joe better watch it , you don't mess with Sarge cause his back up is Cage , Kerbie and Little John .
Vic Morrow was outstanding as Sgt. Saunders in Combat but he is one sorry ass cowboy.
Her husband, he is the actor that played the over seer in the TV series Roots in 1977.
