    How nice of your friend to help you! I went to a salon, he took me into a private room so people couldn't watch through the window and buzzed it all off. I brought a hat with me to go home. He would not accept a penny even when I insisted! He turned what could have been a traumatic day into a beautiful experience of kindness. I remember talking to my best friend on the phone and twirling my hair and OMG, a huge clump was in my hand. I was in shock but knew then, had to have it cut off. Well, you look fabulous no matter what and as I said in a prior post, it will come back quickly after chemo. The hat rocks and so do you! Rooting for you, you're the best!

      Thank you so much. Now I know I’m not the only one who thought the clumps of hair coming out was worse than the thought of having no hair!

    First thing I did when Chemo was scheduled for me is get my head shaved. Beat it to the bush. Look on it as your medal of honor, a well earned medal of honor!
    BTW, love the cut, very pretty!

      Chemo has given me hot flashes, so the shorter cut is actually very refreshing for me - much cooler!

    You look adorable! I didn’t lose all my hair, but it thinned out a lot. When it came back in, it grew in ringlets, and I was happy with my new hair. I hope you will be too! ❤️

    I couldn’t get a haircut when I had chemo because of Covid. I knew my hair would fall out because I was getting Taxol and I thought I had a little bit of time to get one of my friends to cut it. One night I took a shower and washed my hair and most of my hair was in a clump. I couldn’t do anything with it, so I had to cut it out. I would advise anyone to cut their hair before that happens. Once it gets wet, it’s just going to be a tangled ball of loose hair.

    • @MyCancerJourneyMaria
      @MyCancerJourneyMaria  2 года назад +1

      That sounds painful to have those tangles in the hair after washing. Getting my hair cut shorter likely avoided that issue for me, although I now have bald patches all around my scalp with straggling hair and I look sick without my hat/scarves. Time for a crew cut!

      @@MyCancerJourneyMaria I have a video on my channel talking about my cancer if you want to watch. I recommend getting a cheap wig from Amazon. I spent $650 for a wig that was awful. As soon as my hair came back enough to cover my scalp, I stopped wearing it.
