  • After starting to suffer some pressure and pain in my chest, along with shortness of breath, my oncologist ordered an emergency CT scan. I was supposed to have one the following week but my symptoms prompted a quicker scan. This CT scan showed the cause of my difficulty breathing, chest pain and showed whether or not chemotherapy has been beneficial in fighting my ovarian carcinosarcoma cancer. The results of the scan are discussed.

I just found ur vlog and knew I had to click on it. My symptoms --- explosive diarrhea started in November 2000. It always started around 45 minutes after eating -- so I thought there was something in the food that triggered it. I had been working part time and didn't have medical insurance -- so I hadn't gone to a doctor for several years. In 2003 I was sitting on my couch and realized that I had ovarian cancer - that's what my mother was diagnosed with in 1989. I had to wait 3 more years until I was eligible for Medicare. I went to the doctor December 2005 and told him that he would find something. Sure enough - I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. When I walked out of his office -- I was alone - I looked up at the sky and said, "God, I was able to control everything in my life - but I can't control this - so I'm not going to worry about it!!!! I was referred to a surgeon and I had a total hysterectomy in Feb. 2006. After that I had 6 chemo treatments. I'm not married - and I pretty much - took care of myself. I had a few people make me home-made soup, drive me to the doctor, visit me in the hospital, etc. I never asked the various doctors about my future, what tests they're doing, were things improving with the cancer, etc. After the chemo ended - a home health nurse came to my house several times to give me one of the Amgen Cancer Drugs, either epogen or neupogen. I never cried - I just lived one-day-at-a-time --- and if I didn't have to go to a doctor the following day --- that was a great day!!!! Forgot to mention my best friend, my little lhasa apso Tiki. She was my best medicine. I did have people visit me at home - I was never lonely. One year after all the treatments - I was cancer-free --- and it's now 16 years later -- and still cancer-free. I am a walking miracle --- and I PRAY that you will recover and be out-of-pain ---- so you could go home and continue your life. Sandy, Oxnard, CA!!!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with me Sandy! It truly gives me hope when I hear from people diagnosed with this at an advanced stage and hearing that they have remained cancer free for years. My dog has provided me with more support than I ever would have imagined. It's like she knows when I'm feeling poorly and will just cuddle up to me for hours. Prior to diagnosis, we hiked and did a lot of activities together, so her ability to tone it down for me has been remarkable. Dogs are truly a patient's best friend!

God be with you my dear. I was diagnosed with stage 4b ovarian cancer last September 2021. Went through three rounds of chemo, a total debulking of tumors and other things and three more chemo. I have not been able to take the follow up pill chemo and now my cancer it back just short of six months. If I can’t get into a trial they will try another chemo. All I can do is pray and hope. I’m prepared to meet Jesus if that is what he wants but there is alway hope. Even though I did not have a lot of ascites I had the same pain as you in the bowels and bladder.

Maria...You for sure are not alone! I was diagnosed in Jan. of 2013, Stage 3C High Grade. I went to Mayo Clinic from Alaska for the debulking surgery, I was opened up, and there was so much there in really dangerous places that the surgeons sent me home for 18 weeks of dose-dense Carbo Taxol.
I had 7 ureter stents over 21 months due to the largest, brick-sized tumor pressing on my left ureter. I then went on Avastin/Cytoxan for 3.5 years, Faslodex injections, Letrozole over the next 8 years. In May of 2021 my surgeon at Mayo felt it was time to go back in and perform the debulking surgery. I had several complications, keeping me in the hospital for 15 days. For 13 days I had an NG tube and no food or drinks in all those days. It took a full year of recovery. My CA-125 waivers between 12-14 and there still is a small lesion on my gastro hepatic ligament that we watch. I have never been in remission but...you know what...almost 10 years later, I am here, in no pain and loving being 70 years old!
I currently am only on a daily pill of Letrozole. Five years ago after another needle biopsy, it was discovered that my big solid tumors were high grade, but the hundreds of little lesions all over my colon, omentum, and diaphragm were low grade.
You will get used to the roller coaster of all the ups and downs and learn SO much about your cancer, the drugs, and your body. It takes about a year to go through the stages of Shock-Anger-Denial-Depression-Acceptance....and then PEACE! It will come for you, trust me.
Remember.....Fear and Faith cannot exist in the same room..Choose FAITH! Keep up your wonderful attitude and spread sunshine when you can to others in the chemo room. Your nurses will become lifelong friends!
I just know you will be an ovary achiever! Warm hugs from cold Alaska! Mary

@Mary Willams it made me feel so much peace reading what you said about the Anger, depressing, denial and the acceptance and peace ☮️
I am newly diagnosed Stage 3C recurring uterine cancer.
My doctor assured me 2 years ago after my hysterectomy my low grade uterine cancer was gone. No evidence of disease.
But a few cancer cells were left behind and it slowly started growing into my vagina, that’s how I found it, washing myself I started bleeding. My world turned dark for a minute.
Made appointment with my oncologist and she verified it was a recurrence of the cancer. After a PET scan they found it had spread to my lymph nodes in my pelvis area.
Now I’m waiting to get better from a lymph node dissection so I can begin Chemo/radiation for 25 weeks. I’m am stage 3C
I should have been more proactive with my health and paid for a PET scan myself 6 months after surgery, because whenever I went to my follow up appointments she never did anything but look at my vaginal cuff and that’s it.
The Cancer hadn’t came out of its hiding place yet.
      Sneaky ass damn cancer!
      Sorry but I’m angry.
I’m 61 and I had just retired and I was enjoying my life, now I have to fight for it.
I’m literally more afraid of the chemo and radiation than I am the cancer.
Anyway reading what you said above definitely made me feel so much better. ❤

Well, she did make it through the night, and has gone on to live to almost 80, and still going strong…. When I asked her about it, her response was ‘I just decided I needed to live, I have 3 kids who need me, and I wasnt going to die, and leave them, so I didnt’ !!!!!!!! Went thru a course of chemo including Taxol. The Taxol cause peripheral neuropathy in both feet so I have trouble walking but I'm still getting around. I also just finished a course of radiation for my arm and rib tumors which really helped a lot. Right now I'm pain free and only having trouble sleeping maybe bc of anxiety. I try to eat well, watch good movies, read good books, get exercise every day, laugh with my loved ones and beloved pets and drink a lot of hot tea. All I know is this is a process. It's harder for some than for others although at some point it gets hard for everyone. I wish you didn't have to go thru it. I wish this on no one because no one deserves cancer of any kind. Oh no! I’m so sorry! My body hated Carbo/Taxol, just hated it! Out of 8 treatments I too was in the hospital the first six treatments. I also had gyno cancer with Mets. Just rest and let them take care of you. You are one tough cookie!
This is HARD chemo, but you can do it! You are walking through the fire right now.
I’m happy they are changing up your chemo. You have to hit this with everything! The surgery is VERY hard! So get your strength back up. Your Onc. will know when it’s safe to operate.
I’m 15 yrs out and everything has changed, there are many more options now! I’m holding you in my heart and prayers. Please please rest and get your strength back from the Taxol! You are not alone, I wish I was there to hold your hand and give you comfort and strength to battle on💗💗💗💗💗💗

I did as well ,I didn’t know if I was going to make it or not ? Especially having 2 children that I love with all my heart ❤️ I didn’t want to leave them, but when everything was done my cancer dr. Had eradicated my cancer completely. Listen hunny there’s many other cancer treatments for you to try. Just stay positive, that’s everything! God bless you Maria 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤗😀👍🏼💪🏻

I pray...I had this in my recommendations for some reason Before I pray for you I need to describe my day today: As I was praying on my way to work..,I was saying keep me safe...as I said safe a young man almost t-boned me when he didn’t stop at a stop sign. On my way home I prayed and someone in front of me chose not to merge but stop when no one was there so I had to break immediately. I asked God to protect me and told him I believed...
God, please show her you can perform miracles. Teach her to believe. I pray that she learns to trust in your love. In Jesus name, Amen🙏🏼

When I was going through my treatments and surgery, I wasn’t wanting to talk about it with anyone-I’d come home every day and want to forget what I went through. I hope you find the right meds for you and get your surgery, and be be on the road to recovery. ❤️

For me, vlogging about this has been very therapeutic for me. I don't want to always be talking about my health with my loved ones but I also need to process what I've been going through. If I can help one person understand what is like to be going through this type of diagnosis, treatment and the ups/downs of treatment, I'll be so fulfilled. I'm hoping that your treatment was successful and you're writing as a survivor.

I have never had cancer but do have my own health struggles with several autoimmune diseases.
When I had bad news a few years ago over something I thought was fixed in my spine it really was a gut punch. It's hard not to give up.
Its been 9 years and while the diseases in my spine continue, I am still fighting the good fight to stay mobile and out of a wheelchair.
It's okay to get angry and sad and feel defeated. But only for a little bit. You're such a fighter even when the exhaustion threatens to overwhelm you.
You aren't alone. All your followers here are rooting for you. Sending you support and healing energy.💖

Autoimmune diseases are no joke. People don't understand that while a person may not look sick or ill, they are often battling symptoms that no one would ever need to experience. Hopefully your treatment continues to keep you out of a wheelchair.
