Thorancentesis Pleural Effusion My

  • After fluid accumulated around my lung, pleural effusion, it got drained through a procedure called thoracentesis. Hear about the procedure, see what was drained and find out about my most recent chemo appointment and upcoming tests.
My aunt is raising money for ovarian cancer research, as over 70% of patients are diagnosed at stage 3 or 4! There aren’t any early detection tests, even though it is the deadliest gynecological cancer. If she meets her goal of $2000, she will shave her head, offer ovarian cancer research. Monies go directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
If you would like to donate, here is a link to do so. Thank you!

You are doing GREAT, Maria! All part of the plan....the roller coaster goes on! I am just coming up on 10 full years of living with ovarian cancer. I have never reached remission but I have a very good quality of life...only taking a daily pill of Letrozole that is holding the remaining cancer stable! You CAN do this! Hugs from Alaska!

Maria, you look better and you sound much better. When I had chemo, I had low magnesium and had an infusion with each chemo. It’s pretty common. Don’t let that worry you. I hope your scan shows improvement. It’s sad that gynecological cancers are so poorly funded but it’s true. There’s a huge focus on breast cancer, and I feel that women’s cancers are swept under the rug (anyone can get breast cancer, men and womwn). Thank you for helping to bring awareness.

You are in my prayers and thoughts daily, Maria. Anxiety goes hand in hand with shortness of breath. When we are healthy we never think of what it is like to not breathe normally. It is a frightening experience. Wishing you a better week ahead with positive results coming your way.

Hi Maria! This is tremendous! You are looking and sounding awesome. Yay! It’s definitely positive that the ascites has somehow been snuffed out for the moment. And the amount of fluid was decreasing from the get go. So encouraging! It’s definitely positive that you are breathing better because it shows, at least, that your breathing was compromised but not because your lungs just don’t work. Definitely good news! And you feel like you are on your way to beating this-based on the evidence you see of improvement. I’m extremely encouraged. Praise God who heals all our diseases. Love and hugs, Mary

Hi, Maria. I'm only halfway through watching this but want to comment before I forget.
First off, you look amazing! Your skin is fantastic. I wonder if it was related to you oxygenating better.
Secondly, I have mentioned before that I have several AI diseases. Two of those diseases directly relate to my spine. And though I was only recently diagnosed, I have been struggling with these diseases for more than 30 years.
I have had three back surgeries. I have also had more needles in my back than a porcupine. While what you went through is completely different that what I deal with, I do understand the whole lidocaine push and the discomfort that follows the procedure.
I had to share because I feel like it's important for us middle-aged warrior women to stick together and say, "hey, I get you."
    Keep fighting the fight, queen.❤

That's what happened to me. I posted about this but can't find my post. It is so important for doctors to do a CA-125 on every woman as a baseline and check it every 6 months. If I had done that, I wouldn't have been diagnosed at stage 3c. My doctor is so adamant about this. Sometimes women have to lie and say their mother or grandmother had ovarian cancer in order to get the test. If your dr. won't do this simple blood test, find another doctor!

Maria❣️ you are a very pleasant person with a lot of common sense, who probably went through a lot in life (finishing your studies as a single mother of three children is a big thing), but from what I have seen, you do not seem to have a relationship with God.
Maybe you don't believe in Him but He is the one who shaped you in your mother's womb, He is the one who has been with you all these years (even if you don't believe this, He gives us the breath of life every day).
    He loves you, Maria!!!
He wants you to reach a relationship with Him through which His Son Jesus Christ will forgive your sins and give you eternal life when the time comes to leave this world.
If you will not come to know Him while you are still here, you have lived for no purpose on this earth because you will be separated from Him for all eternity.
You are an educated woman, please also read the Bible ( start with John from the New Testament, it is easy to understand the plan of saving humanity through Jesus Christ).
p.s. Jesus Christ carried on the cross not only our sins but also our sufferings and He can heal you. One of the many verses that confirm this: Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went from place to place, doing good, and healing all those oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.
