The amount of arguments I used to get on runryder by so called experts who always said add weight to the tip of blade then u won't use as much. I always found the c of g, match the c of g, balance on c of g, when painting, any weight needed i would spray lacquer on c of g.. Nice video again
Well i'm glad for you that there was such little damage. We've all been there. That moment when you said GD it! Us guys that build and fly these things felt you're pain.
You have absolutely first class balancing gear for those blades. After the painting, do another balance check, just to make sure. I learned a bit from you, as usual. That’s always a good thing!
Beautiful model and a great series mate. My heart rate was well high on the second flight lol. Bloody retracts... Always have issues with them on my fixed wing models... They do finish off a build nicely though.
If you get head rotation CCW the white will be on top. ;) But then flipping the tail is another story. Sorry to see that happen, day one damage, especially on scale helicopters, is very traumatic. Keep your chin up.
I always hated those coat hanger wire retracts, on my large vario gasser airwolf the 3 wheels always wobbled until blades sped up and straightened. On my century one i had the same issue, i found a scale set in germany that had thicker structure which was more sturdy. But even the large turbine version shakes, it is the nature of a tricycle setup. Glad u got away lightly, no cowling or fuse damage or steipped servos
Thankfully there wasn't any serious damage done to the fuselage when it tipped. You also got pretty lucky the gears for the tail drive didn't get stripped. Just so you know, Bell 222 / AIRWOLF main rotor blades are black on the bottom, white on the top and yellow tips on the top and bottom. The tail blades should be white with a red stripe going completely around spaced about 1/4 distance from the outer tips of the blades.
Very nice project ! I am also building one, can you please tell how did you attach the tail gear unit bolts on to the the rear end of the boom when insert the mechanics inside the fuselage
What is the finished wight of the AirWolf ? And what is the manufacturers design wight ?. I fly R/C air craft started 30 years ago and can remember in my early days I had an aircraft I loved for years. So I made a few mods and painted camouflaged by hand and guess what I never gave weight a thought and it could not get off the ground so I fitted a bigger IC motor, no difference so I increased the wing incidents by one degree and yes it took off straight into a stall that was the end of that. I must say in was in my early days. You have made a great of your airwolf and I glad you got it flying ok. Me I don’t know much about helicopters never had one. I loved building scale aircraft even made them scratch. I love your channel and have subscribe to it. All the best to you.
Thank you George for the support. RC back in the day when we started was very much hit and Miss, usually hit as in the ground but we learnt as we went along. The Airwolf weighs in at 4kgs not sure what it’s meant too be but it flies really nice at that weight with those mechanics I have in it.
Amazing realy enjoy that nice flying 8n wind like that n so glad no damage to the grey lady :-)what a load of crap landing gear for that my 500 n 450size airwolf better then that rod set up:-((((glad u fixed it:-)

Yep, first, you have to match the CG (add weight at extremes) then add weight at the CG to the lightest one until they balance
Thank you pal for your support
Very nice rc airwolf helicopter.
Thank you pal

Well done good result overall. Nice build.. Look forward to your next video . Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it pal thanks for the support
a grand job Rob, glad it worked out and you always make me smile :)
Cheers pal appreciate it

Great last instalment glad you got it sorted and flying again
Thanks 👍glad you enjoyed it Lee, thank you for the support
Always issues with those legs unless you file a flat on them 👍 flies great 😉🤘
Yeah for sure

Very well done, 👏.
Thank you
That was very sweet, bummer for the gear failure
I have my Agusta 109 for a while now and scared to maiden it for the same reason lol

Yea never expected it to happen but at least I managed too sort it

Thank you and thanks for the tip on the blades, will sort that soon
Great Work
Thank you so much 😀
Soooo, what RPM finally worked out as optimal?
Mate those UCs are utter trype - I've addressed this over on my own channel for the bell 222 - answer is there pal -

I drilled holes in the side of the fuselage boom in line where the bolts were so I could access them with a hex driver
Balance those blades, performance in spades.
If you watch it all you’ll see I balanced the blades at the beginning of the video

that really sucks that the wind tipped it over on the landing/
It wasn’t the wing, one of the undercarriage legs collapsed
