Probably one of my favourite arcs in the show. The Vietnam connotations and similarities of how the Umbarans use guerilla tactics and sneak attacks. Real war actions and consequences like friendly fire and heavy casualties. Krell's real agenda of just playing with the clones and sending as many of them as he can to their deaths. It's actually reflective of reality in military. Your training teaches you by default to follow orders from superiors. That they are intimidating figures of authority that can get you in trouble. But once you get to personally know the superiors and kinda find out boundaries on work and personal interaction you get more courage to question them and have conversations with them.
19:43 _"It's treason then"_ is a pretty weak argument for saying Krell's under orders from Palpy, given he said outright he wasn't following anyone. He was a Jedi, and got visions and/or sensed the change coming. Should Krell have said, _"It's lunchtime, then?"_ No. What he said fit the moment. *Edit:* Also, you've likely seen enough episodes to know they stick film quotes into these shows (too often IMO) for no reason other than to get us fans giggly and pointing at the screen yelling, _"Ooh! I don’t want to give to much away, but there’s a brief conversation between some characters in a future episode where what Krell did here, Krell’s name specifically, is mentioned. So the events of this arc do become known beyond Rex and company.
22:13 Palps esentially raised Ani. Remember in Phantom Menace he very nonchalantly says "we'll be taking great interest in your growth Young Anakin." He actually does. Because the relationship between Vader and Sidious is very cold and strict people forget Palpatine was a father figure for Anakin.
6:05: “Good soldiers follow orders.” 😏 10:21: To be fair, Dogma is one of the younger clones from kamino and was taught all his life that their job is to be good soldiers, follow orders and that he has to follow every word the Jedi say. He never went through all of the things his older brothers went through. He had to learn the hard way that following orders isn’t always right. I don’t hate him at all. He was just trying to do what he was told.
Ya this is the arc where this show stops being just fun adventures during the clone wars and starts being the deeper themes behind the clone wars. Things get absolutely insane from here on
•"It's treason then!" is what Palpatine says to Mace Windu and the other Jedi Masters who came to arrest him before dueling and slaying them in Episode III. •In some ways, Pong Krell's betrayal is the very situation in which Order 66 was intended - to deal with rogue Jedi who betray the Republic. Unfortunately, Darth Sidious would use it for all Jedi. •After the war, due to the cost of production and the accelerated aging of the clones, the Empire decommissioned the Clone Army in favor of more numerous, but lesser quality enlistments (ie the Stormtroopers). •Dogma, like Gollum and the Ring, was the clone most affected by Krell's treachery and so in poetic justice, it was Dogma who killed Krell.
This was widely regarded as one of the best if not the best arc of the series-- until season 7 released. Many of us now have a new favorite arc. If you see how good this story was, you should get excited for what's to come.
It was so hard avoiding saying anything when you guys kept questioning if Krell was even a Jedi with how little he fought.🤣 Also, Krell still didn't have the full picture as he thought Count Dooku was the Sith Lord in charge.
Just as a reference: The word 'Dogma' corresponds to the line of thinking that certain ideals (such as rules) should not ever be broken regardless of what happens. Dogma followed his namesake to the letter, which is even more symbolic given that it is him that delivered the finishing blow.
Yeah Krell was a Jedi who was already prepared for the clones attacking him. Yoda and Obi Wan straight up cleared the temple of all clones when they got back, that is why the Jedi had to be surprised and completely unaware when order 66 happened since although many would still die, there are some that could just straight up take their entire platoon.
My personal thought is that Palpatine saw Krell's fall and used it. 1) The clones were Force-fed doubt about the Jedi, 2) Anakin's going to lose trust in the Jedi because of what happened to his legion, 3) Palpatine now has precedent that Jedi might not be trustworthy in their roles, 4) The Jedi Council is going to be more suspicious and distrusting of Jedi that are performing to well at war, and finally 5) The Jedi might be more distant with the clones now that one has killed one of their own (either because they disbelieve Krell fell, or because they thought that attachment was hurt Dogma so badly). If you look at the other possible endings for this, they all lead to wins for Palpatine. If Anakin came back early, he would have brushed the Dark Side to kill Krell. If Obi-wan had sensed Krell's fall, then the fight between Obi-wan and Krell would also weaken morale. In either case, Krell would say that the opposing Jedi was a traitor to get his clones fighting too (and if he won, then they might even believe him). If the Separatists won due to Krell's betrayal, Dooku would get new, powerful apprentice assassin. And if the Separatists won and Krell's deceit was still hidden, then Krell could retreat with the clones to repeat this somewhere else! This entire scenario was a complete Victory for the Sith.
"Some day this war is gonna end" is a direct quote from the film Apocalypse Now. This arc is filled with Apocalypse Now references. Walter Murch an editor on Apocalypse Now and The Godfather directed the second episode. George Lucas was supposed to direct Apocalypse Now but was to busy with Star Wars.😃👍🏾
The Dark Side clouds the Jedi’s ability to see the future, but as Krell fell fighting the war he began to see more and more. Probably saw what the clones would do too.
Indian film *RORSCHACH* trailer will be out on 07 September . I hope this movie has something unique subject to tell. eagerly waiting for your reaction and review on it.
The Wrong Jedi arc. They'll end up fvcking something up when that one is over. Maybe throwing pillows to the screen or screaming into something. Maybe screaming into a pillow and then throwing it to the screen?
Krell is the perfect example of what went wrong with the Jedi Order. They saw themselves as superior lifeforms, they became high on their power and Palpatine took advantage of that.
I think Palpatine wanted the 501st to train hunting Jedi. Thats why he put Krell there. He knew the 501st would be responsible for the Jedi Temple March
@@Somersault44 I see. I haven't been following their reactions, just seeing what episodes they are on and wondering whether to watch their reactions to the series, since I do on other channels elsewhere. Hence I don't know what they do or don't know about the overall story.
While I kind of wish that Krell was just a normal Jedi and the answer wasn't as simple he's just a bad guy, this episode is perfect for putting Order 66 in perspective. This was the clones turning on their Jedi commander because they had evidence he betrayed the Republic and them specifically. And you can see how mad those clones are at being betrayed, and specifically how mad they are at being manipulated. Even Dogma turned on the Jedi when it was clear he betrayed the Republic. Like Krell said, he counted on the clones' blind loyalty, and I'd imagine there are a lot like Dogma out there. So it throws two things that both clarify Order 66 and muddy it. a) You can bet this story spread throughout the clones. So all of a sudden, it is entirely plausible that if the clones had a textbook example of why they maybe shouldn't trust the Jedi, or at least be on their guard with them, that they would buy the treason accusations behind Order 66 b) However, like Fives said, they are perfectly capable of recognizing orders that are wrong. So why did so many Clones follow the order to kill children without question? The answer to the second question will be revealed in season 6, but for me, this arc was the first one I watched where I both completely empathized with the idea of the clones turning on the Jedi but was also questioning why they did it even more On a side note, the friendly fire incident has to be among the top 5 emotional moments of the show. Because it takes them what feels like 2 or 3 minutes to stop firing at each other after it stops. Even after Rex figured it out and was running into the field, it took a good 30-45 seconds for the shooting to stop. Clones were dying as he was running into the fray. His voice is desperate as he's trying to stop them, the music amps up, and everyone is horrified by it at the end. Pitch perfect
I was away for 2 months so i have to ctach up with Clone Wars and Naruto :D The line "Its treason then" was from Palpatine in Episode 3 when Windu tried to arrest him. Verry simmilar to what happened here. Waxer was one of the Clone who was in the Ryloth Arc with Obi Wan. He and Boil saved the little Twilek Girl. They both were also present at the 2. Battle of Geonosis.
Krell would have made a great sith apprentice. It's a shame that he went out like that. Krell had a lot of respect for dooku both before he left the jedi order and after, dooku would have loved to have him as an appearance after loosing both asja ventress and savage Opress. That would have been the only thing I would have changed about this arc of clone wars. I wonder 🤔 what his sith name would have been if he did become dooku's new sith apprentice.
0:58 "Honestly, did they ever think about what they what they were gonna do with all these clones after the war?" The council never even expected a clone army to begin with lol. You think they were prepared for this?
What is this arc about, you ask ? DO NOT MESS WITH THE 501st its cool that clones beat him but IMAGINE Rex told everything to Ani and he went full Vader on his 4 armed ass

10:21: To be fair, Dogma is one of the younger clones from kamino and was taught all his life that their job is to be good soldiers, follow orders and that he has to follow every word the Jedi say.
Things get absolutely insane from here on
The guy with the shaved pattern is kix! One of the most underrated clones imo and the medic, you’ve seen him around in this arc and previous ones
The umbara ark is finished, but we still have some huge things on the way
"hey kids, wanna see some friendly fire?"
-cartoon network in 2011
•"It's treason then!" is what Palpatine says to Mace Windu and the other Jedi Masters who came to arrest him before dueling and slaying them in Episode III.
This is the ep I was waiting for!
The balls on rex to run out into the middle of that.
This was widely regarded as one of the best if not the best arc of the series-- until season 7 released. Many of us now have a new favorite arc. If you see how good this story was, you should get excited for what's to come.
It was so hard avoiding saying anything when you guys kept questioning if Krell was even a Jedi with how little he fought.🤣
Also, Krell still didn't have the full picture as he thought Count Dooku was the Sith Lord in charge.
Waxer death was sad and he never gets to see Numa again ....Nera
Just as a reference: The word 'Dogma' corresponds to the line of thinking that certain ideals (such as rules) should not ever be broken regardless of what happens. Dogma followed his namesake to the letter, which is even more symbolic given that it is him that delivered the finishing blow.
Can't wait for you to react to the next arc. It's personal to anakin.
What is it?
@@organizerbmo Slave Arc.
haha I can already hear Marketa go "bitch what are you on about" when Anakin destroys the hologram in the first episode
Remember waxer, the same clone who befriended the twel’k girl. He’s a true brother damn you krell
When they confront Krell one of the clones runs right up to him, some have theorized that he was suicidal from killing his brothers...
This is one of the best arcs in the whole show!
This was the peak of Clone Wars...until the last four episodes of the final season.
8:18 REDS AND BLUES ARE THE SAME!!!
Nice reference

I really wanted anakin to loose his shit when he finds out about his men
Same... I was waiting for that
Last appearance of fan favorite Waxer.
Appo is the clone who will be commander in order 66, he help vader in temple
The Dark Side clouds the Jedi’s ability to see the future, but as Krell fell fighting the war he began to see more and more. Probably saw what the clones would do too.
Talking about what happens to the clones after the war. Bad Batch is gonna break their little hearts
Who could’ve predicted this? None of them apparently, despite their hatred for Krell
Indian film *RORSCHACH* trailer will be out on 07 September . I hope this movie has something unique subject to tell. eagerly waiting for your reaction and review on it.
The Umbara/Krell arc (in my opinion) is one of the top 3 best storylines in clone wars. I can’t wait for you guys to watch the other 2.
Siege of Mandalore and Maul Arc?
The Wrong Jedi arc. They'll end up fvcking something up when that one is over. Maybe throwing pillows to the screen or screaming into something. Maybe screaming into a pillow and then throwing it to the screen?
This is of if not the darkest star wars scene's ever
Krell is the perfect example of what went wrong with the Jedi Order. They saw themselves as superior lifeforms, they became high on their power and Palpatine took advantage of that.
3:45 I really thought Mickey was just scratching Marketas armpit for her and was so confused lmao.
just watching reactions of this arc gave me chills
I think Palpatine wanted the 501st to train hunting Jedi. Thats why he put Krell there. He knew the 501st would be responsible for the Jedi Temple March
Bad batch goes deeper into what happens to the clones after order 66. Season 2 drops this month i think actually
My bad if someone else has already shared this but Krell is voiced by Dave Fennoy. Great voice actor 👏
Fax
I got so goosebumps in this episode. it is so good.
Faxx
Rip Waxer!
I’m guessing after the war would be over the clones would be turned into a sort of police force to keep peace in the galaxy
one of the very first instances of order 66 in action
It wasn't Order 66, it was the execution of a Jedi Master and General without the approval of the Jedi High Council and the Republic's high command.
RIP Waxer
The orange clones belong to Kenobi and Cody, the 212th. Same way the 501st belong to Anakin, Ahsoka and Rex
Them believing this has something to do with Order 66. Oh, my sweet summer children.
There are nods to Order 66 throughout. Obviously with them chasing down Krell, but also Tup and Appo appearing in the arc.
@@shugaroony but those have nothing to do with WHY order 66 happens. They're just trying to guess, but don't have all the info yet.
So all of a sudden, it is entirely plausible that if the clones had a textbook example of why they maybe shouldn't trust the Jedi, or at least be on their guard with them, that they would buy the treason accusations behind Order 66
b) However, like Fives said, they are perfectly capable of recognizing orders that are wrong. So why did so many Clones follow the order to kill children without question?
The answer to the second question will be revealed in season 6, but for me, this arc was the first one I watched where I both completely empathized with the idea of the clones turning on the Jedi but was also questioning why they did it even more
On a side note, the friendly fire incident has to be among the top 5 emotional moments of the show.
Krell death is the best Fan Service in the world
You guys saw the second episode of Kenobi; you know what happened to the clones when the Empire rose.
Bad Batch goes way more into depth on it.
I was away for 2 months so i have to ctach up with Clone Wars and Naruto :D
The line "Its treason then" was from Palpatine in Episode 3 when Windu tried to arrest him. Verry simmilar to what happened here.
Waxer was one of the Clone who was in the Ryloth Arc with Obi Wan. He and Boil saved the little Twilek Girl. They both were also present at the 2. Battle of Geonosis.
I love reacting to your reactions, just wait till season 5 💙
10:05 I don’t know why but Rena poking her head into frame made me laugh so hard. 😂
10:12 when I was a kid watching this episode I felt order 66 vibes from the clones
One of the greatest arcs in the entire show.
Krel is THE reason why Order 66 was in place
Krell would have made a great sith apprentice. It's a shame that he went out like that. Krell had a lot of respect for dooku both before he left the jedi order and after, dooku would have loved to have him as an appearance after loosing both asja ventress and savage Opress.
That would have been the only thing I would have changed about this arc of clone wars.
I wonder 🤔 what his sith name would have been if he did become dooku's new sith apprentice.
0:58 "Honestly, did they ever think about what they what they were gonna do with all these clones after the war?"
The council never even expected a clone army to begin with lol. You think they were prepared for this?
I’d imagine they’d reform them into guards, on countless worlds as well as soldiers and military leaders for small scale conflicts. Police as well.
3:53 best scene palpatine be like
What is this arc about, you ask ? DO NOT MESS WITH THE 501st
its cool that clones beat him but IMAGINE Rex told everything to Ani and he went full Vader on his 4 armed ass
Originally I was hoping Asami would pretend to join her father's side so she could get some info on the group. Then have a "Blue Spirit" moment like Zuko freeing them from an equalist base. (This was back before I found out they only planned on a single season show. I expected the whole equalist thing to be a multi season story.)
This video is somehow omitted from the Clone Wars playlist.
Such an incredible arc, you got 5 more amazing Star Wars arcs in this show. Also this arc has ZERO TO DO WITH ORDER 66!!!!! I can't wait to they actually get there.
They can't even imagine.
Guys please get this the clones don’t kill the Jedi because a lot of them died they actually love the Jedi as they are comrades in arms and vice versa you will find out why order 66 happens 😂
