Oii oiii Ladies gents and teddy bears. Isn’t this just an absolute classic. Did you know the first initial development started life out with a Turboprop-powered project? Did you know also that Convair were running in with their prototype proposal as the Convair XB-60? In the end, it was the Boeing YB-52 that won the flight.
A rare sight to behold! Fantastic, very special footage of this magnificent, often elusive aircraft. Thank you Ted for making the trip to bring us this. ❤
What a huge beast, it looked massive 2 miles out😂 you don’t get to see these every day, so thank you Nikos for driving in those misty conditions for 3 hrs to get this for us ❤🫡
A treat for the eyes and the ears. The immense wingspan of these B52s still takes some believing. Excellent footage once again Nikos. It was a good hunch to go to Fairford Ted
I used to fish near Fairford. They come in directly overhead. And if you were the opposite side of the base on another lake, they'd take off directly overhead.!!! The ground shock, i swear the lake rippled, and that nosie deafening, but the worst thing about them was the dirty black soot trail they left behind.. They've just been fitted with new turbines ,so that soots soon to be a thing of the past.. The best incoming you'd ever want to see, though, isn't the B52. You had a special day if it was a B2 spirit ,there's something very cool about looking up at one landing, very cool.¡!
I remember working near Harrogate c1979 and a B52 which had just done a fly-past over Menwith Hill flew over us at a ridiculously low height. It was like an eclipse. Stunning.
Seen a B52 fly a couple of times now & it still amazes me lf how big it is & how it gets off the ground!! The last time i saw one in the air was at RIAT last year where it took off & was in the hold for like 2 hours before it came in to display. Even though on landing (i found out later) it was crabbing along the runway & took out some runway lights
Having been a keen military aviation "watcher" ever since my 1st visit to RAF Donna Nook in 1979, & as someone who's always looking to the skies, I simply still marvel at this one aircraft, the iconic B-52 "Buff"! How these mighty birds fly still defies me. Simply incredible!! Well done Ted & Nikos, great footage. Perhaps we need a B-52 emoji?
An aircraft so large that the front wheels retract in opposite directions 🤔 to fit within fuselage. That is great footage and no denying it. What a mamouth machine. Those engines are blisteringly powerful. So love this today. The info you give is Great stuff.. Can always rely on the TCS too bring rare sights to my phone. Nicely done Ted and Nikos. You never fail too surprise 😮
Amazing footage mate, what a beast of a thing. Do we know if there all standing by here or transferring to join rest in Middle Eastern bases. See you in the next one.
Another excellent video of the legendary B-52. It will be almost 100 years old by the time it's retired. It will outlive us all. 7:50 to 8:30 is a great side view of the bomber. 👍🏻
One legendary ultra 😎 aircraft old school is the best and built to LAST 💥💥💥💥💨💨💨💨 This fine lady you don't want to mess with her or there's trouble ahead 🤩🙌
Fairford offers up another treat with its visitors..... casually stepping over what it represents, the B52 is certainly an aeroplane to "marvel" as it keeps pushing the normal conventions of service life-span.
Being from a town that used to house the giant birds of the past and go out to the flight line and watch them take off and land it's just amazing they are
In the 1960` s my sister lived close to RAF Wethersfield airbase, she told me about huge planes that flew over her house, it was during the Vietnam war, I was in her garden when she ran in doors with her kids, a plane flew so low over her house to land, I thought it would take her roof off, it was ear splitting and filled the sky.
Heavy bomber 1962. Grandpa Buff is a sight to behold. A living legend. If you ever get a chance to see one in person it's stunning. Looking up into it's bomb bays is like standing below a 3 story warehouse.
I am looking forward also to my return visit in Israel and Thailand and Japan as former us navy 7th fleet us Pacific command member in my duty yrs in us navy 1982 to 84
Seriously. Do we think there are rational people in charge and ifany of us would make a real difference. This is the first election with a scorched earth policy on departure.

I think the original seating arrangement wasn't tandem too. I believe it was when the B-52 still had the Y designation.
What a beautiful Bird!!! Thank you for a great channel!!!!
You’re most welcome

Oii oiii Captain A thanks man. It was worth it
I was fortunate enough to work on parts of this beautiful beast in a back shop at Tinker A.F.B. Oklahoma.
I was fortunate to work on NASA's Balls Eight in Edwards. Nothing exciting, just changing the parachutes. But the history of that ship was incredible!
Thank you for your service
Got a subscribe from me, thanks for sharing this with us all! Cheers Tony.
That plane can scream. What a beautiful aircraft
Beautiful. Love the vehicle with yellow flashing light just in case you miss the B-52.
Absolutely stunning to see a B-52H Stratofortress land 😊
Sure is and lucky to catch 2 of them over the 2 days
@TedConingsby my goodness that is amazing 😎

Was at Southend airport for an engine test for the Vulcan. Wow. Stationery, it's mind boggling how much energy is involved.

I went TDY with my B-52 to Mildenhall in the late 70's. Loved it! The SR,-71's were there then.
Scha-weet! footage as always Ted!
What an incredible aircraft the B-52 is. So iconic and the sheer size is impressive and with a perfect landing..
Oii oiii Jimmy it sure is
and the beautiful english misty winter landscape...
...now smothered in a huge mount of pollution from those 8 belching jet engines 🤑
thank u 4 that....id forgotten just how beautiful this a/c was....

Oii oiii Dan 🤙🏼 Forgot that this huge bomber has 8 engines! What a sound
Very very good video sir.
744 were built with only 76 remaining. De-commissioned B52s are located in the bone-yard Arizona
Amazing footage mate, what a beast of a thing. Do we know if there all standing by here or transferring to join rest in Middle Eastern bases. See you in the next one.
Oii oiii thank you John, as a fun military aviation channel, we don’t disclose deployment details. We will just enjoy them while they are here
Thanks guys!

Buff is back....
Gonna go back for my first visit to Thailand since 1982 and 83 this coming Jan 2025

That bird is my age!
I believe they made some up-to-date improvements to it since then.
Heavy bomber 1962.
Boeing Military air plane
Eight Pratt & Whitney engines TF-33-P/103 turbofan
17,000 pounds of thrust per engine

thrust to weight?
@ per engine that would be 17,000 lb thrust = total of all 8 engines = 488,000 lb thrust.
Soon to have new RR engines.
Hunch paid off Nikos @TedConingsby 👍👍
Right place, right time, well done👏😍
Oii oiii Julie it sure did

Like nothing else on earth.
a fantasic looking plane.
Incredible aircraft. Amazing to think it is still in service and was built closer to the Wright Flyer than the present day!
I can not wait for my first time tourism visit. To UK if alive still this coming April 2025
How do you know when the b-52's are arriving or going?
It’s a mix of pot luck and gut feeling Oohhhh yeah
the big bad boy has arrived
I’m no aircraft geek but that’s stunning … I can’t get over the wingspan
Oiii oiiii 🤙🏼it is indeed stunning and the Wingspan is larger than the length of the actual aircraft! 185ft against 159ft! Incredible
@@TedConingsby I used to work at Gatwick and watching the A380 take off is amazing but this tops that .
Thank you .
It’s a wonder it gets into the air. It would be a bit like Billy Bunter doing the Pole Vault.
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful beast!!! MAGA!!!
Oiii oiii Ellesee
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧💪
B52's would use USAF base Alconbury in the 1960's during the "cold war" .
So what happened to the parachute?
Oii oiii 🤙🏼once jettisoned, the chute recovery team will collect it, pack it and eventually reinstall it back in the aircraft
That was the perfect landing good pilot him top man
What’s it doing here?
Oii oiii, RAF FAIRFORD is a USAF base and it is one few bases that can accommodate B-52s here in the UK
I am looking forward also to my return visit in Israel and Thailand and Japan as former us navy 7th fleet us Pacific command member in my duty yrs in us navy 1982 to 84
