Honda wanted to be safe for the 22’s I guess and tamed the look, but it’s boring to me and looks like every other car out there.
18 months ago, we had 3 Mazda 3's to trade. We weren't happy with the Gen XI Mazda 3's Torsion Beam set up in the Gen XI. It lacked connectivity to the driver that our Gen X's had. We ended up shopping several others. But we ended up buying 2 new Gen X Civics: one new 2020 Hatchback Sport and one new 2020 Couple EX. We also got a new 2020 Lexus UX. The Civics' handling are excellent. On my daily driver Coupe, after 34k miles, zero problems. 39.1 MPG since day #1. The Sport Hatch a/c was replaced at 31k, a known issue with Hondas for over a decade. But the a/c warranty was massively extended. 👌
I prefer the interior of the 2021, and I prefer the front of the 2021. The 2021 looks sportier from the front, and it’s gives it a look a new driver would love. The interior on the 2021 is nice and simple to navigate, and is visually pleasing. The 2022, while having a sleeker screen placement and not “shouting out at you” buttons, the hexagonal strip on the dash just looks awful. It jumps out at you so much it distracts you from seeing the beauty around it. The hexagonal strip also doesn’t fit with the cars interior at all, as it isn’t seen anywhere else but the front dash. No to the colour matching on the interiors, so thankfully they didn't add that. But also no to the black gloss, as I'd rather none at all.
