I love how pronouns have become so politicized that they are no longer a basic foundation of language. They're instead an advanced concept that we should only begin teaching about in college 😂
@@Entity-2358 No it hasn't, the people who oppose gender theory have politicised pronouns (specifically gendered pronouns). They're the ones who tell people who do not exclusively follow gender identity norms that they do not have the right to do that. You, yourself, have politicised pronouns in your comment. So have I.
@@Entity-2358 But why though? Language is a social construct. There is no rule that says pronouns have to align with your genes. You’re just a hateful person who doesn’t want people to live a life that makes them happy. People wanting to go by different pronouns do not effect you in anyway. If you use the wrong pronouns on someone and they correct you, but you insist on using the wrong pronouns, you’re just an asshole. Just like if my name is Michael but I want to be called David, if you insist on calling me Michael because it was my name at birth, you’re an asshole. Conservative queers are like “you can’t tell a leftie queer that you’re conservative or you’ll get cancelled” meanwhile most queers can’t tell their conservative family members they’re queer or they’ll get hate crimed. These two are not the same, and I’m tired of these (mostly yt) conservative queers saying it is. Edit: After watching the TikTok with the elderly lesbian, it pisses me off so much. Do people not understand that drag queens are just performers in costume? The only difference between a drag queen and a cosplayer is one you know is gay and the other is probably gay but you just don’t know lol. People take their kids to comic conventions, so what’s the difference??? One is singing and the other is acting? Like hhhh people are obsessed with Darth Vader, a literal space nazi, you will find him everywhere. He was on my backpack when I was 5 in primary school, before I had any concept of what his character meant other than “he looks cool and my dad likes him”. Now kids want Trixie Mattel, an arguably way better role model, on their school backpacks and everyone is up in arms?! Smh.
Yeah, the old lesbian vid was blood-boiling. I do my best to go out of my way to respect and honor the elderly generation of queer people, but this lady- oh no. She gets the finger. How dare she sit here and soil the names and efforts of everyone from her generation because she doesn't think kids should be able to use different pronouns. Shitting on Drag Queens is a low blow too, seeing as they were always (and kinda still are) getting the blunt force of hate from homophobes who wanted them arrested and killed, along with their sister trans women. some of these ppl who say “you make being gay your entire personality” may not understand but for some people, who were closeted for a very long time it can feel freeing to be open about your identity in this way because you spent so long being afraid to be yourself fully.
also, conservatives make being gay really mentally and emotionally taxing with all the bullying and harassment and you have to always fuckin defend yourself in front of them (because they're obtuse and don't care about becoming a better person) so it kind of comes out a lot around them
Also for oppressed identities it can be a counterstand against discrimination to celebrate their culture traits!! And it's pretty much life-affirmative to act the way a lot of bigoted people are afraid of, like being something despite all the hate is great!! And like no one is saying that being queer defines the whole personality; it's the systemic oppression that leaves it's marks everywhere, so if you're BIPOC/queer/neurodivergent/mentally ill/poor/disabled/fat/etc, you're likely to receive a lot of personal traits connected to your oppressed identity one way or another

I love when people claim "being gay will confuse children" when being straight confused me to no end as a child and I was going along with it because it was what was expected, but I couldn't name a single thing I liked about boys. I just knew I was supposed to because I was told I was supposed to. I didn't learn what gay was until I was in middle school and when I did, suddenly everything made more sense. I was gay my whole life without a word to explain how I was feeling and it was then I finally had that word. So no. Gay will not confused kids. It's normal and kids will understand. That's why conservatives don't want kids to know about it so they can fill them with hate by the time that they do.
@lemonssssssss4 Just for future reference, aces can and sometimes do have sex! It just means we don’t experience sexual attraction, or we experience it “less” so to speak.
@lemonssssssss4 no matter what, someone is going to get invalidated. saying "some aces have sex" validates those who do have sex when most of the time, people ignore the fact that there are in fact ace people who have sex. but some people find that invalidating. not saying anything would validate those who don't and invalidate those who do.
Same with being trans, it is a little confusing at first sure but kids will understand it if you explain it to them. I am trans ftm and I know three 10-11 year olds from a school club. They started giving me and my friends nicknames like Mr. or Ms. [Nickname] because we're kind of the leaders of the club and asked me what they should call me and I said Mr. . They were still confused about my gender because I am pre-T but dress masculine so one day they asked me and I said boy. Then they asked what I was born as and because I trust them I said girl and one of them turned around to the others and said "See? He identifies as a boy and we respect that" (or smth like that). Remember, these kids are 10 or 11 and are super chill and respectful about these topics. Being queer and trans won't confuse them.
Same with me and girls. Like i was lukewarm about breasts, uninterested in the idea of a vagina, though i did like the idea of being pretty, having nice long hair and being able to use makeup without being judged. But i can say what i like about guys, I just always felt more comfortable around them, I like cuddling with them, and... Well other things which i don't feel comfortable saying in a youtube comment. I didn't know i was gay, hell I said i was bi for years because I was trying to ease myself to that point and kept trying to fake it. But I am gay, no need to pretend to have a cover.
Saying someone is "making their sexuality their whole personality" because they talk about it a lot online is like saying someone who only posts videos of them playing violin is "making being a violinist their whole personality." People often focus their online presence on one thing that they know their viewers will like.
19:09 I can’t get over the fact that he said “NOT a 6 year old though, they can’t learn about being gay and pronouns” Does he forget that we just exist? School isn’t the only place to learn things. My siblings are that age and they aren’t ignorant to the existence of gay people because I’m around them and I just am. They met my ex girlfriend and there was no reason to make a big deal about it. They just subconsciously know it’s normal now.
"Oh being gay is not a personality" like straight people don't do that??? Like there aren't men out there who CAN'T have a conversation with a woman without making a move on them and/or making innuendo jokes???
Exactly and then they get offended because they get rejected and think they're being lead on or played. Like boi no one is obligated to give you a chance 🙄
And most of those men can't even have a normal conversation with other guys! They're always talking about how many chicks they've been with, and how many n00ds they get, no matter what the topic of the convo is!
I had a manager who was a pick me gay! He was even DISABLED it was so bizarre. I assured him that no matter how much he supported and protected fascists, he'd still be one of the first people they'd shoot and he DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. He was beyond saving. It hurt to watch. He still thinks he's the shit, too. Barely making enough to survive, working a job that hes only able to keep due to his friendship with his superior, causing half a dozen people to quit every time hes forced to transfer due to store conflict.

You know what pisses me off to no end? How people say they came from a background where they didnt have much and had to work hard just to get by and actively bag on those who get a miniscule amount of help they know full damn well they would have taken if it were an option for them. This isn't about "the ethics of hard work". This is about " the things I have access to shows my self worth and if everyone else has access to the same things it diminishes me! The “queer people are predators” idea has been around for decades, maybe even centuries. Have you heard of Boys Beware? It was an anti-gay propaganda film. It exists today in the idea that drag queens are predators. That one TikTok with the lesbian saying that she would have never fight for the rights of the queer community if she new drag queens would talk to children came of as so gross to me. Just felt like sharing that lol
“But what Jimmy didn’t know was that Ralph had a disease, but not one you could see like smallpox. No, Ralph had a sickness of the mind. Ralph…was a homosexual.”
Well, children's sexes are medically changed from time to time. Not too often, though, because only about 1.5 - 2 % of people are intersex (edit: and only a teeny portion of them is a part of the group in question - see comments below from amentrison). But it happens. Not even at three years of age, but as infants. Because it's completely okay for parents to choose what gender to assign to their babies, even if there's no medical need for that, because the need to squeeze children into binary system even though they don't fit in it biologically, is much more important than letting a child grow up as nature decided for them.
Just some context to that 2% figure. This is the abstract from the 2002 review paper titled "How common is intersex? a response to Anne Fausto-Sterling" "Anne Fausto-Sterling s suggestion that the prevalence of intersex might be as high as 1.7% has attracted wide attention in both the scholarly press and the popular media. Many reviewers are not aware that this figure includes conditions which most clinicians do not recognize as intersex, such as Klinefelter syndrome, Turner syndrome, and late-onset adrenal hyperplasia. If the term intersex is to retain any meaning, the term should be restricted to those conditions in which chromosomal sex is inconsistent with phenotypic sex, or in which the phenotype is not classifiable as either male or female. Applying this more precise definition, the true prevalence of intersex is seen to be about 0.018%, almost 100 times lower than Fausto-Sterling s estimate of 1.7%."

@@amentrison2794 hey, thanks for the reply! You made me realise I've automatically manipulated the interpretation of the stats, which is a low populist move that lowers me to the level of people I tried to prove wrong and destroys my credibility. So thank you, again, for correction.
@ no worries, but I certainly wouldn't be that harsh on you for it or view you as "lower". I think that the 2% figure is useful for showing that the interplay of genetics is more complicated than a simple A or B options; the "non-intersex" sex-related conditions do still show that the basic high school model of biological sex has a lot more important details. But it is just something to take note of when it comes to the more strict definition of intersex. That being said, this was from 2002 and I don't know much about the intersex community or how the actual community deals with the whole strict vs non-strict definition thing.
No matter how “man is penis; woman is vagina” they want to be and no matter how much they want to complain about pronouns, the moment they start teaching their children to use “she/her” for mom, grandma, sister, and Ms. Jenny from the block and “he/him” for dad, grandpa, brother, and Hugh Jackman, they’ll have committed the grand, indoctrinating sin of teaching pronouns. We all know they don’t want to be gender abolitionists, but it’s almost painful how they crusade against pronouns, even on a legislative level, without even stopping to think about what some of the things they say and advocate for mean. There, like, HAS to be at least one English major among these folks who has brought this up, right?
Omg on the topic of “kids shouldn’t see drag shows” they NEVER allow kids to see the sexual ones. Like every drag show that is even remotely explicit, they have IDed me at the door. However, I don’t see a problem in letting kids into family friendly drag musicals? Like I’d take my gram to one- but I don’t think these people realize that there are different types of performances.
It's being intentionally conflated by right wing media, which they like to do with a lot of stuff like this, cause being against it while knowing what it actually is like is a much harder to defend position
As a teacher you can't talk about what a period is unless it's state approved. I guarantee drag queens are not coming to schools with any kind of inappropriate behavior.
"being trans isn't a personality trait 😤" You're right! What it _is_ however, is an unavoidable fact of my existence. It is something I need to consider at several points during my day to day, and informs both how I interact with the world and how the world interacts with me.
In my experience it's cis people who make everything about me being queer. Like I I'm just trying to live my life and constantly hear "what's in your pants?" "so are you a girl or a boy?" Without me even bringing it up and I clarify that I'm a trans guy
Yeah, right!? whenever something controversial to do with a queer person happens they ALWAYS ask me how I feel about it 😭 when the whole MAP flag thing was going around, I was asked about that, and you know... Was obviously against it and had to explain that we don't claim them. like I'm not the spokesperson for the entire gay population, idfk why they're asking me lol
I'm friends with someone on Roblox her username was "regulartransfem" And the amount of people that went of their way to misgender her and question her was crazy, like bro 💀 just leave her aloneeee. As soon as a transphobe reads the word "trans ____" in someone's bio/username they go ballistic for what reason lmao
I made a single comment abt me being a lesbian on a vid abt sexuality. And the people who responded to me told me to stop making my sexuality my whole personality😂 a single comment is all it took😂 Bet they have unresolved issues w themselves or something
as an enby i get a lot of those comments as well, i'll tell people i'm nonbinary and some people will respond with "so what parts do you have?" like mind your business
Fun fact! Literally nobody in my life knows I’m bisexual until I tell them. But online I’m very much staring at women I follow and say “help, I’m gay” in replies. I totally get you, being queer isn’t the only personality trait we got❤️
So many queer people have been forced to act “not gay” so when we finally feel safe to be out we tend to be loud with how much we love that part of ourselves and NO ONE is going to quite that part of me I’ll be as loud as I want to be
20:34 I was about seven or eight when I knew I wasn’t straight(lol that rhymed). 1. Kids know what sexuality is. It is not a hard concept for them to grasp, if I knew what being bisexual was at seven I don’t think it’s a hard concept to grasp 2. Knowing I wasn’t straight so young saved me SO many years of confusion and being closeted(I told my family as soon as I knew)
I knew I was trans before I knew I was bi. I was 4 or 5 and saying stuff like "I wish I had facial hair and boy parts". It can literally be as simple as "some guys love guys the way mummies love daddies" or "some people are born with girl parts and that made them uncomfortable so they got boy parts". Its not hard to explain to child what being trans or gay is. I told my 5 year old cousin "you know how you like to dress up and pretend to be elsa? Well I like to dress up and be treated like kristoff" and she understood that that means I want her to treat me and see me as a boy. These people just want to make a problem out of something that isnt that big
As soon as I've gained consciousness I knew I was trans. If I've got the support then I would have never got to the point of almost taking my life. But giving trans children the help they need young is the equivalent of child grooming, apparently. Wish I didn't completely waste over 2 decades of my life just existing as a sad, pathetic shell of a person.

There is no "queer personality" there are just people that are more or less comfortable openly expressing ut. The people who complain about those that "make it their whole personality" are those that are just uncomfortable seeing queerness expressed, which honestly sounds like a pretty sad way to live
I learnt what gay was when I was like 4 because I asked my dad if his friend had a girlfriend, and my dad just said “no he is gay, that means he likes guys” and I was like “oh does he have a boyfriend?” “Yes” the end. I didn’t get confused, I didn’t start thinking I was gay. Children are not going to have their life destroyed because they learnt that gay people exist!!!!
That first is just. It reminds me of teenagers who have to sh*t on others for having fun. I understand that it can be annoying at times, but if it's not harming anyone or themselves or trying to take others rights away, then do you.
So, I...can see this problem both in the gay community and in the straight community where people assume a sort of..."personality" and/or a set of characteristics to gayness. So if someone expresses a personality outside of the norm they're immediately assumed to be gay. Which is both incredibly damaging and incredibly annoying. The whole concept of "gaydar" is the perfect example of this. Masculine women immediately are assumed lesbian and feminine men are assumed gay when that's completely independent of their sexuality. It exists in all colors and creeds because at the end of the day, sexual attraction does not equal personality. There are people who like to be flamboyant which I think is fun and more people should be, but this shouldn't be immediately linked to being gay. If that's what that first guy was talking about...then ig I agree.

I used to be a gay conservative, I watched as family and friends got kicked out of their homes for coming out. I got threatened to be beaten for it. In my mind being conservative was something that connected me to the people I loved. It was my way I guess of trying to get them to accept me.
For a while I didn’t understand what social transitioning was so I was also concerned about the idea of kids transitioning. (I actually at one point as a kid would have told you I wanted to be a boy, didn’t stick though) But come to find out, no, not surgical transitioning. Everything done with minors is pretty easily reversible should they change their mind, which they actually usually don’t.

That being said, i rlly like seeing ppl being open abt being queer. That's interesting! I'm acespec/homoromantic and only realized it fairly recently. For me the thing that helped wasn't coming out of the closet, but seeing people with those identities and realizing it myself. Before that, I forced myself into hetero relationships and sex because I thought this was just how everyone felt
every time i see these people i just wanna shake em and scream "you know this wont save you from the firing squad, right?!" its so sad. you can lick gop boots dawn to dusk but theyll never see you as fully human, and the last step in their ideal plan is, once the other degenerates are gone, to get rid of "the good ones".
I like embroidery instagram accounts. Just because all their posts are about embroidery doesn’t mean that the owners of the accounts make embroidery their entire personality. It just means they are aware of their audience and operate in a niche community. I feel like more people should be aware that portrayals on the internet are not always what they appear at face value.
About the kids “changing their sex” it always amazes me how none of those transphobic people talk about intersex kids who ACTUALLY undergo completely unnecessary surgeries (can be necessary at times but it's not 100% of the times) so their genitalia looks “normal”. It just shows how much they don't care about kids, they're just using them as a weapon for their transphobic views.
I was old enough to realize I never wanted to be in a relationship when I was eight. I never wanted a romantic partner period. All the adults around me told me “Oh your only eight(nine, ten, etc) you’ll grow out of this once you become a teenager.” Well people, guess who’s twenty and still single Pringle and still wants nothing to do with a relationship. And growing up in a conservative area, I’ve had friends who had Similar experiences whether they were gay, lesbian, etc. it was so annoying. It wasn’t until we turned eighteen and moved on with our lives and moved out that we were allowed to show who we were without ridicule, or people saying “Oh it’s just a phase, we will pray for them. They just need a little extra help from God.” Like akfnskfnsndnwjfnejdj

Very off topic but your bangs are looking on point!! As a person with bangs it's hard to get them into place and make them look presentable but you absolutely killed it 🖤
@overlordfemto7523 Setting aside how hilariously incorrect you are for a minute, by your logic, you should support they/them pronouns for intersex people. And yet somehow I can smell a tantrum coming from you over that suggestion.
My highschool started this event about two years ago called the lil gay out (the name is a play on the big gay out which is this massive lgbt festival in NZ). It is an event where lgbt kids and allies from other schools, and our own can come along for a day to participate in a day where we have an lgbt panel, different workshops (eg: drag makeup, queer history and literature, sex ed etc etc). and we have a drag queen come and do a performance, and the performance is obviously geared towards a younger audience. which is the point of this story, the drag queen coming in is monumental for so many of the lgbt youth in these schools (im one of the seniors so it is especially cool to see the younger students have such a cool experience), because they get to see someone so sure of who they are coming in and letting them know its okay to be themselves. (Also seeing our chemistry teacher in drag makeup was a definite plus. he and his boyfriend have the cutest dog, which isnt the point but i felt was important to add.)
oh! that’s so cool!! i’m super intrigued by what school that was?? (only if you don’t mind sharing obviously, no pressure). that sounds like such a cool event !!! we tried to do something similar but it didn’t work out at the time haha
It's so weird to me that people think kids shouldn't be around drag because I've been going to pantomimes since I was a toddler, and those *always* involve drag. It's never been weird to me, like at all
Also plenty of theater plays for children feature actors crossdressing. I legit went to god knows how many where a woman was playing a prince or a guy was playing a witch or something. And very little people thought it was weird. Whereas drag queens apparently are so different they make people have pearl clutching hissy fits.

I think the thing about making being gay your entire personality is kind of. Like. I get where people can be coming from. I don't like When people make a certain aspect of their personality their entire personality But no one really does that? Like sure I'm lesbian and non-binary, But I'm also an artist and a baker and a huge fan of cartoons - I can hang pride flags up in my room and still be an interesting person with other personality traits. No one is actually basing their entire personality on the fact that they are gay Another thing about it is that they're going to pretend like trans woman dressing like woman is a personality trait. It's not. Or I mean, I guess it is, but it's not any more of a personality trait than a biological female being a woman. It's the same thing. Also you would not believe how much straight people base their entire personalities on being straight?? Like. You don't get to yell at me for expressing how I think a girl is pretty And then go to rant about your boyfriend for 2 hours. That is so hypocritical
Your pfp is literally a homophobe who is the pick me staple and the other has the word “wifey” in their name which is one of the most pick me words… curious…
I had a gay male friend in college who was _constantly_ being told "you're not gay, you don't _act_ gay", simply because he wasn't overtly flamboyant, had a rather deep voice but was pretty soft-spoken and didn't wear bright colourful clothes all the time. He kept to himself, wore mostly jeans and hoodies and didn't even attempt to make it obvious or public knowledge that he was gay. He always cracked me up with his response of "I'm pretty sure the _act_ of me having sex with other guys IS me _acting_ gay. But whatever". Its like damn dude, you're screwed if you do, screwed if you don't. People are _never_ happy! Always have to find an excuse to discriminate and judge you!
"Allowing children to change sex/gender before they know their favourite colour". Well I'm over 30 and I still cant pick a single favourite colour - and my top 5 have never actually settled down completely. Would she consider me old enough to make decisions about my own life?
Ooh I like how you trimmed your bangs to sit over your eyebrows like that, it's a cool style! I always appreciate your style choices, I was repressed for a long time and I'm just kind of learning now how to express myself through my style as a middle-age queer who is new to being out and proud!
13:30 this is so true omg!!! I’m a trans man (ftm) and I am currently 4 months on t and post op. There is a process that takes years before someone can medically transition, it doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen at very young ages. I’ve been in therapy for eight years to figure out my gender before I could medically transition. This isn’t an overnight switch, it’s a slow and painful process that takes years. It’s the myth that children are getting hormones that is causing this, when in reality, those kids have gone through long processes to ensure this is the right choice.
Heyyy, my first first comment!!! Savannah, you're shining through all the difficulties of your life, you're like a very strong and bright flower, who gives happiness to everyone watching her! Love your intellect, humor and kindness. You are never aggressive towards people who you don't agree with, you never denounce them or preach them down, you're very benign towards their opinions and deeds, and this is what amazes me the most -- your light. Thank you very very very much for being yourself!!!
@@ferninthehouse oh, I've noticed, but at the time I was beginning to write it it was the first 😅 Anyway, wish you a lot of happiness, have a good day and thank you for letting me know :)
Lol the gay guy saying he can't find a gay guy WHO TALKS ABOUT HIS FEELINGS AND IS HONEST ABOUT THEM? EXCUSE ME? ARE YOU A CIS HETERO MAN? Literally who ever blamed gays to not be in tune with their feelings like HOW HAS THAT SWITCHED LIKE THAT?
"You make your entire personality is gay" Is it that they're making their entire personality is being gay or are traits are being associated with being gay and you guys don't like that people have the personality traits? I've noticed that a lot of people only say this shit to people they aren't close to. Like in the past, I've had friends complain about "people making personalities of being gay" while my humor is me making gay jokes. Edit: The video of the old lesbians is funny. You know whos allowing child predators in their groups, the church. The church is literally filled with predators and they will pass around the chomo like they're the salt at the dinner table.
Tbh it seems that having a ‘gay’ personality just means always talking about queer related things or looking or moving in a ‘gay’ way. That sort of makes sense, but also doesn’t? So if a gay person never really talks about being gay thats alright, buttt if they do then its annoying? Sounds kinda homophobic ngl. I think that these people can only really digest the idea of gays behind closed doors but just can’t really stand them in person.

I can understand where the first tiktok is coming from, some people do make their identity their whole personality, but I think they need to know some people are so happy to be out of the closet they just want to express it. Sure it can get on some people's nerves but it doesn't hurt anyone so let it be
Children aren't going to drag shows at gay bars, they're going to drag bingo at the local bookshop/cafe. (I went to drag bingo at the local bookshop/cafe when I was 16 and it was a blast.)
Tbh rethinking or changeing your fav color is prob more common then rethinking your gender. So a child who says they have different pronouns or name is more believable than a child whose favorite color is green. I never identified as something else than as a woman/girl. But I Changed my fav color at least five Times.
Just found your channel and I have so much to say so I'm gonna space this out 1) I feel like people who say gay people "make it their whole personality" are just referring to people who talk about their queerness openly instead of purposefully hiding it. Like I've met people (mostly baby gays) who do in fact do this, but it's usually because this is a part of themselves they've just discovered and they're still figuring out what it means for them. Openly aligning themselves with other queer folks is a part of that process and I love that for them 2) acab 3) I'm so sorry that this man learned that depending on others was not safe for him. That is a tragic situation that I hope he can move on from, we ALL need community, no matter how self sufficient you think you are. I'd also encourage people who are baffled by people opposing welfare and "handouts" to look into virtue ethics. Though many people won't use this terminology, it is fundamental to a lot of modern right-wing Christian ways of thinking (especially evangelicals). 4) ⚠️conservative brain worms alert⚠️ People who say this don't know shit about drag. The accusation of pedophilia against queer people is old and we know that most people who abuse children are heterosexual (because most people are tragically heterosexual). No children are changing their sex, they are taking puberty blockers which have been used for cis kids experiencing precocious puberty or other conditions. 5) I'm lumping this guys videos under one #. The complaining about gay men all being whores shows you have not done any unpacking of heteronormative expectations or relationships. I'm not saying you have to be a slutty lil ho bag if that's not for you but take some time to consider why you're so upset with your partner having a healthy relationship with their ex ? You're trying to recreate a hetero relationship with 2 men and it's not gonna go great for you. Conservatives and their fascist buddies will not accept you just because you're more normal than us. Why do people think telling kids that some people like girls, some people like boys, some people like both etc is equivalent to explaining rimming to them ?? Like we had the talk about good touches and bad touches in the second grade. There are ways to discuss topics that have a strong sexual component that are age appropriate. The hypocrisy is🤌 chefs kiss finale
I love the argument of "we can't teach children about the gays! It'll confuse them!" Because when I was in elementary in the mid-2000s, my best friend growing up had two moms. It literally never crossed my mind that that was weird or that they were even gay, I just accepted it. When you're that age, you don't care or worry about the specifics, I was more worried whether they'd let my friend and I play at the park after school 🤣
i have a memory from when i was maybe four. whenever i saw people out in public i would try to guess whether they were a boy or a girl. sometimes it was easy, sometimes it wasn’t. i was just starting to get a handle on gender presentation and it was fun for me. one time i saw somebody and i genuinely couldn’t tell. i stared for a long time (which in hindsight was really rude, but i was 4) and i just couldn’t figure out if this person was a boy or a girl. eventually i gave up and went on my merry way. it drives me so crazy when people say that trans/nb people will confuse kids bc they really don’t! i remarked to my mom that i had seen someone and i couldn’t tell if they were a boy or a girl, and isn’t that kind of neat, it’s the first time i’ve been stumped. then i moved on with my life.
My ex best friend is like this. She's bisexual and conservative. She claims she is socially liberal, but the longer I was friends with her, the more I thought that was complete bs. Her parents are much more conservative, so she definitely gets that from them; however, she doesn’t wanna get up and move into a place that is just slightly more liberal. I thought I was lesbian for a long while, but she always said, "Oh, but you always liked men before?? Just because you had bad experiences with men, it shouldn’t make you turn lesbian." When I came out as bi again, she was like, "I told you! You just needed to find the right guy!" She made me so so mad about this. Oh! And she was definitely transphobic and wanted drag shows to be banned for kids and even other adults. And during Umbrella Academy, she did NOT like Elliot Page changing his character in the show. Being around her made me miserable and talking about politics, abortion, LGBTQIA+, etc. I know if she just moved to a slightly more liberal place, she would either get a better perspective about life, meet other people who think opposite of her, and feel happier. But she chooses not to because she's "safe" and "comfortable" in her very conservative hometown.
Thats actually a really good point, about how people filter their online presence to match their brand. I hadn't thought of that at all. Definitely going to change how I think of things, going forward.
I think a lot of the issue with "don't make being queer your whole personality" is that queer extends to politics, music, art, study, tv and movies, social media, family and relationships, even how we interact and present ourselves in public. We have culture! Not everyone chooses to engage with all aspects of the queer culture, obviously, but it does extend to pretty much everything there is in life. And of course people who equate having blue hair to having pronouns are going to see all this and dismiss it all as "just being queer." Does that make sense?
I can’t even believe that I’ve never seen your vids until now and now you’re my favorite youtuber thank u for all ur content and giving all of us a safe space to interact
the moment i hear the phrase "their entire personality" come out of someones mouth when talking about queer people i immediately ignore them cause i know damn well they have no clue what theyre talking about
@that last guy "I'm single because i can't find someone who doesn't mind me being republican" (obv paraphrased) "If you voted for biden i have to leave" so he wants someone who doesn't mind him being republican, but they aren't allowed to be democratic? seems like he might have double standards or something
I like your nuanced take in response to the first one. I'd like to add, I think some of the people who seem like they "make it their whole personality" are in fact just responding to social pressures in one way or another. Sometimes people will just expect you to be really emphatic in how you fall in line, and if there's any nuance or perceived ambiguity they'll declare that you're a liar or a fraud in some way. On the other hand, some of us have just been so repressed our whole lives that it becomes difficult to avoid being way too enthusiastic about who we are once we finally get the chance to express ourselves.
There's way more people basing their whole personality on their religion, their job, weed, alcohol or picking up women than there are people basing it on being queer. It's definitely not a uniquely queer thing, and finding someone kind of annoying is not a good reason to deny them rights
There is a difference between having "being gay being your whole personality" and just being open about your identity and as a result it impacts other aspects of your life like your interests, or style. Because your now being genuinely yourself and being queer is a key and important part of your identity. And also you realizing it is important to be openly and proudly yourself with your queer identity because other people will see that and feel seen, not feel alone, or even realize that they also align with that identity
That old lady lesbian reminds me of my grandma. Good heart. Incredibly naive and unable to understand the differences between an exageration and what's actually happening. For example, "maps" on Twitter being crazy. And then someone who doesn't know better sees that a predator on Twitter said "I should be part of the LGBT community cause *insert nonsense here*" and then thinks that means we actually accept them.
So my son is four. He still over applies He/him pronouns, (as in he will say "he" or "him" when talking about people that he knows are women) but he seems to understand that sometimes girls marry other girls and boys marry other boys. He also seems to understand that each worm is both a boy and a girl at the same time and that all of mama's worker bees are not boys OR girls. It is stupidly simple explanations of the world like that that some people seem to have an issue with for some reason and I'm just baffled by it.

If you use the wrong pronouns on someone and they correct you, but you insist on using the wrong pronouns, you’re just an asshole.

Yeah because if you're gay and conservative you must be very privileged
also, conservatives make being gay really mentally and emotionally taxing with all the bullying and harassment and you have to always fuckin defend yourself in front of them (because they're obtuse and don't care about becoming a better person) so it kind of comes out a lot around them
Also for oppressed identities it can be a counterstand against discrimination to celebrate their culture traits!!

Exactly this, they expect intersex children to conform to the parents choice of gender role and think nothing of it!
Just some context to that 2% figure. This is the abstract from the 2002 review paper titled "How common is intersex? a response to Anne Fausto-Sterling"
"Anne Fausto-Sterling s suggestion that the prevalence of intersex might be as high as 1.7% has attracted wide attention in both the scholarly press and the popular media.
What the f?
I don’t get how some people don’t know that pronouns include we, I, you, me, us, he, she
No matter how “man is penis; woman is vagina” they want to be and no matter how much they want to complain about pronouns, the moment they start teaching their children to use “she/her” for mom, grandma, sister, and Ms.

"being trans isn't a personality trait 😤" You're right! What it _is_ however, is an unavoidable fact of my existence. It is something I need to consider at several points during my day to day, and informs both how I interact with the world and how the world interacts with me.
Good for you.
That ".shut up." killed me. Shut up gramma. You're not the only one who deserves to be seen as a person instead of a joke.
Ikr. And they will ask the most inappropriate questions too. Like how we have sex. Like don't ask me that it's gross and invasive.
Fun fact! Literally nobody in my life knows I’m bisexual until I tell them. But online I’m very much staring at women I follow and say “help, I’m gay” in replies. I totally get you, being queer isn’t the only personality trait we got❤️
This just in: You aren't allowed basic language comprehensive until 18
I can relate very heavily to this! I've known I was pansexual and a trans man for as long as I can remember.
@@Thi-Sen exactly! Kids can have a concept of it, sometimes they just don’t have a label for it
I knew I was trans before I knew I was bi.

Drag queens reading to children isn't ok, despite the fact that I rarely ever hear of a drag queen doing anything to a child, but child being left alone with preachers is ok despite the fact that the church is famous for various scandals of pedophilia and sexual assault. Drag Queens exsisting doesn't prove your point.
I think its important to point out how privileged you must be to actually say you would rather have less rights in opposition to more rights
That first is just. It reminds me of teenagers who have to sh*t on others for having fun. I understand that it can be annoying at times, but if it's not harming anyone or themselves or trying to take others rights away, then do you.
Also to add onto things it just comes across as vague a lot of times.

I'm glad you woke up. Being a conservative is being a slave.

@lemonssssssss4 lolll

Like sure I'm lesbian and non-binary, But I'm also an artist and a baker and a huge fan of cartoons - I can hang pride flags up in my room and still be an interesting person with other personality traits. No one is actually basing their entire personality on the fact that they are gay
Another thing about it is that they're going to pretend like trans woman dressing like woman is a personality trait.

Just found your channel and I have so much to say so I'm gonna space this out
1) I feel like people who say gay people "make it their whole personality" are just referring to people who talk about their queerness openly instead of purposefully hiding it. Like I've met people (mostly baby gays) who do in fact do this, but it's usually because this is a part of themselves they've just discovered and they're still figuring out what it means for them. Openly aligning themselves with other queer folks is a part of that process and I love that for them
2) acab
3) I'm so sorry that this man learned that depending on others was not safe for him.
4) ⚠️conservative brain worms alert⚠️
People who say this don't know shit about drag.

It literally never crossed my mind that that was weird or that they were even gay, I just accepted it. i have a memory from when i was maybe four. whenever i saw people out in public i would try to guess whether they were a boy or a girl. sometimes it was easy, sometimes it wasn’t. i was just starting to get a handle on gender presentation and it was fun for me. one time i saw somebody and i genuinely couldn’t tell. i stared for a long time (which in hindsight was really rude, but i was 4) and i just couldn’t figure out if this person was a boy or a girl. eventually i gave up and went on my merry way. it drives me so crazy when people say that trans/nb people will confuse kids bc they really don’t! i remarked to my mom that i had seen someone and i couldn’t tell if they were a boy or a girl, and isn’t that kind of neat, it’s the first time i’ve been stumped. then i moved on with my life.

I thought I was lesbian for a long while, but she always said, "Oh, but you always liked men before?? Just because you had bad experiences with men, it shouldn’t make you turn lesbian." When I came out as bi again, she was like, "I told you! You just needed to find the right guy!"
She made me so so mad about this.
Definitely going to change how I think of things, going forward.
that one guy talking about "his wedding" as if the party he's alligned with and votes for activily seeks to make sure he can never get married
"maybe a 17 yo can learn what gay is, but a 6 yo?" is this man planning on keeping his own marriage and husband secret from his own kid for 17 years?
I think a lot of the issue with "don't make being queer your whole personality" is that queer extends to politics, music, art, study, tv and movies, social media, family and relationships, even how we interact and present ourselves in public.
We have culture! Not everyone chooses to engage with all aspects of the queer culture, obviously, but it does extend to pretty much everything there is in life. And of course people who equate having blue hair to having pronouns are going to see all this and dismiss it all as "just being queer." Does that make sense?
I can’t even believe that I’ve never seen your vids until now and now you’re my favorite youtuber thank u for all ur content and giving all of us a safe space to interact
the moment i hear the phrase "their entire personality" come out of someones mouth when talking about queer people i immediately ignore them cause i know damn well they have no clue what theyre talking about
@that last guy
"I'm single because i can't find someone who doesn't mind me being republican" (obv paraphrased)
"If you voted for biden i have to leave"
so he wants someone who doesn't mind him being republican, but they aren't allowed to be democratic? seems like he might have double standards or something
His so delusional that he doesn’t even see his own hypocrisy
I like your nuanced take in response to the first one. I'd like to add, I think some of the people who seem like they "make it their whole personality" are in fact just responding to social pressures in one way or another. Sometimes people will just expect you to be really emphatic in how you fall in line, and if there's any nuance or perceived ambiguity they'll declare that you're a liar or a fraud in some way. On the other hand, some of us have just been so repressed our whole lives that it becomes difficult to avoid being way too enthusiastic about who we are once we finally get the chance to express ourselves.
Totally unrelated to the topic, but your hair looks stunning!
thank you 🥰🥰
There's way more people basing their whole personality on their religion, their job, weed, alcohol or picking up women than there are people basing it on being queer. It's definitely not a uniquely queer thing, and finding someone kind of annoying is not a good reason to deny them rights
Andrew Tate makes his entire personality about beeing masculine.
I'm not like others gays I'm normal please straight people accept me 😭
There is a difference between having "being gay being your whole personality" and just being open about your identity and as a result it impacts other aspects of your life like your interests, or style.
Had to pause the video to come here and scream about your singing. IT was gorgeous OMG! 😁😁💜
That is so cute oh my God 😭
"A highschool senior is old enough to know, not a 6 year old"
Meanwhile my 5 year old self being confused on liking men and didn't come to terms with it until I was 15
The last guy is gonna star the "fresh and fruity" podcast where he insults other queer men 💀
"Im not like other gays" 😭😭😭😭
Absolutely ADORE your bangs like thisss
Pronouns are too advanced and confusing for children. Can anybody imagine how terrible it would be for a child to say the words “I” or “you”?
My entire personality actually revolves around my terrible coping skills, tyvm.
Your hair looks absolutely stunning. I love how your hair is always vibrant and gorgeous
When I was 13 and my mom and my friend and her mom took us to rupals drag race in Vegas 😊 it was so fun
