How did you integrate your PHP tuner into the panel near the headlight switch? Did you just cut a hole or is there a special aftermarket plate? Just curious, it looks way better than having the tuner taped to the outside somewhere.
Wish i could just see the wiring, like a pic of what went where because the plugs are not labled on my parts, i think i got it but would like to know for sure. Good video bro thanks for the video
Bro she fires right up! Nice work. I’m getting mine ready for a tahoe winter myself. Any chance you could copy and paste the part numbers in the description? TIA
i just looked it up and i actually have one of those laying around maybe ill toss in there, i do notice the stock solenoid relay gets hot after a cold start up
Just letting you know that you shouldn't need glow plugs. that amount of white smoke typically means a new set of injectors are in order. people get too caught up in "oh it's 25 degrees and it won't start, so it must be glow plugs". in reality, you shouldn't need them until about 15 degrees Fahrenheit. I just went through this same no-start scenario on my 02 super duty.
Well for my case I think not being able to start in anything 60 degrees and below that the glow plugs were the main issue and I’m sure with my injectors being 25 years old doesn’t help either but I’m just happy knowing the glow plugs work now and it starts
If this were true, I’m confused on why the truck starts first crank now and wouldn’t before? His injectors seem fine and there is little to no smoke on startup now.. not objecting, just curious on your reasoning
@@zacharymcfarlin1270 see that's what I mean. It should've fired up in 2 cycles at 60 degrees without glow plugs. I am glad it starts now. But it may be worth looking into new injectors within a few months.
@@drewhelms2666 glow plugs are designed to quickly heat up the engine when it is below 32*F. If a diesel doesn't start without glow plugs above 20-25 or so, then it is missing one of 2 things. Those 2 things are fuel and compression. Good glow plugs can hide a set of bad injectors because it heats the cylinder up enough to start up on a leaner AFR. Steven Cox and Diesel Tech Ron have a few good videos on this.
I'm doing the same with my 02. Working my way up to new injectors. What were the prices you had to pay ? My dealer wants 71.00 for each gasket and 71.00 for each wiring harness. I need to source out the pigtail .
Finally! Coherent instructions on how to upgrade from a 96 pigtail. Thank you sir!
Great video man. Was worried about splicing the 2 harnesses into 1. Quite a bit cheaper to get the super duty Motorcraft gaskets as well.
More Dixie! I’m following along while working with my own 96
Dixie is looking clean!!! Way to go! You have a clean dependable truck now! 👍😉💪👌
Love the vids brotha
I run those oddesy batteries in my 6.0 powerstroke. Love em
👍 great work as always
Zack can you do a quick little video of how you flush mounted your hydra tuner?
Lookin good!!

I have an obs 7.3 as well

Watch Wes work has a very juicy video on that same oil cooler job on his channel! More Dixie more Dixie!!
Sounds like the same starter you have on the blue truck!
The glow plugs can run up to 2 minutes the light only reminds you its on.
Or they can not run at all if it's over 50° or if the oil is over 80°. Rumour has it 😊
If you put a white Rodger Stancor glow plug relay on it 586902 it started better

Do you have a video on painting the engine cover?
Can't u just do 1 wire at a time and work from 1 end to the other ?

What kind of a starter do you have in Dixie?? She cranked super fast!!! I want one in my OBS
New batteries and connections and the stock Mitsubishi starter will do that.
