I bought the Delphi brand UVCH's and Mahle gaskets. The Delphi brand were the same as Alliant made in Mexico. Was a gamble when everybody was sold out and the only thing i could find not made in Cheena was the Delphi. I put in a whole new engine harness from Riff Raff at the same time.

Sir, I am woefully late to viewing this video.
A question for you (or anybody here in the comment section), if I may, I am replacing/repairing my (1995) CCV breather o-ring’s. On the very rear (near the firewall) of the valve cover, I noted that the injector/glow-plug, harness plug…, has a “bare” (no insulation wrap) stranded and tinned wire (16-18ga), inner-twined with the harness wires, and then wrapped with a thin aluminum foil wrap, black tape over this, and then encased in the wire loom.
This “bare” stranded wire is “looped” around and re-routed back into the wrapped wires and headed back up into the wire loom. The rubber turbo air intake boot was rubbing on the “bare” stranded wire & the valve cover & head. No signs at all of any sparking/arcing at all.
Have you seen this on any of the vehicles you have worked on..? What is this wires function…?
    Great video,
    Thank you very much.

It’s for the foil wrapping which prevents electrical interference. It’s supposed to be bare.

@@AutomedicGarage ok, thank you very much for taking time out of your Sunday, to reply. I probably would never have seen it, except for the 28yr old wire loom crumbling off…. Thank you again.
