I fly the Pilatus PC-12NG professionally, and have flown many other airplanes equipped with the awesome PTA engine, which is a free turbine. This means the propeller is not mechanically connected to the engine. The prop is turned using exhaust gasses from the compressor section that turns a turbine connected to the prop. You can actually hold the prop and start the engine, which must be done under very cold conditions when the engine oil might be congealed. With other airplanes (Pilatus excepted) you can actually feather the propeller on the ground or in flight with the engine still running, something I would do when I was a King Air instructor. A great way to teach single engine flying in a two engine airplane with the "failed" engine still running. Can't do this with the Pilatus, though.

I personally think the TBM 850 is better looking. But this one might be better. Experts please answer this!
+Luiz Almeida I am not sure, the TBM is smaller than the PC12 but i think the TBM is better looking it is so compact and fast!
