    I've spent a lot of time in my uncles old Porter and its nice to see Pilatus hasnt lost its STOL roots.I'd actually think twice before bringing my Maule or 206 in there but he makes it look easy.........Lots of people dream of private jets but little do they know this is probably the best private/exec aircraft out there.Not only will it cruise fast enough to hang with the big boys and get up as high as you need to go.But it will still get into places like this and that opens up so many more destinations.I mean seriously what good is a private aircraft if it wont get you into a nice private destination...........Although if more people bought these I'd probably be out of business ;)

      This a/c can fly non stop from Montreal to Miami at roughly 400 kts. The next closest competitor in a jet a/c has to refuel in CLT or RDU and is still over 30 minutes behind the PC-12. Same altitude as well. Let"s see...uses less fuel, flies just as high , seats as many ppl and gets there with time to spare. I"d buy the Pilatus.

    • @js250
      @js250 7 лет назад +11

      Michael, that video is very limited in explaining the workings, and does not even explain that the burning of fuel vastly increase the volume of the exit gas compared to the volume of in going air, thereby creating the thrust. Also to get the fuel to burn it must first be ignited and a turbine engine does indeed use igniters (or spark plugs) as Tevin said. It is not used to sustain burning but sure is needed to start the process.

    • @2R0bin0
      @2R0bin0 7 лет назад +8

      Suck squeeze bang blow. The PC-12 uses a turboprop and as any other turbine engine ignites the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber with igniters. Turbine engines even have multiple igniters which are used during the critical flight phases (take-off, landing, or even during abnormal situations e.g. severe turbulence) to prevent a flame-out. During cruise igniters often aren't used

    Wow great video sir. Love the sound of that turbine starting up. The PC12 is the plane I would have liked to have gotten next head my situation been different. But I'm glad to see you flying this one it's a beautiful ship and it does everything well . It's fast and way cheaper to operate than a jet. Safe travels ! ☺

    I love all the videos you've posted from this airstrip. It must be one of the few in the world to include sharp turns up a steep hill to get from the hangar to the airstrip.
    Question: I'm not aware of any electric drive in the wheels for the PC-12.... How does it roll out from the hangar without a Tug on the front wheel?
