A HUGE pro that no one ever mentions is that the outside of the device DOES NOT get HOT. I had another press that scared me because the outside of it was extremely hot. This is a lot safer for people with children or cats. They will only be harmed if they put their fingers (or paws) inside the press.
I bought mine before it came out. I love it. For any limitations it might have, there are work arounds, rather its how to do a hoodie or the pressure. I do HTV, DTV, DTF, Sublimation, all of them are great. I have used my swing away since I got this one. Love the auto feature and quick heat up time
I have this press. Same color. I purchased it in March. I love it. I have sublimated and ironed lots of things. I have even sublimated a 6x sweatshirt. I just pushed the base in and held it and it closed. There is one thing that when it is new it will make a pop noise. That was kind of scary. I contacted HTVRONT and they said it would go away it was some kind of thing that just happens when it is new. I no longer have the popping noise. I had a 8 in 1 press before this one. I had it for about 3 years and had lots of problems with it heating in some areas. I had a few craft shows and made so many things with the HTVRONT press including, coasters, shirts, sweatshirts, mousepads, car tags, pop sockets, cardstock for cards, and so many other things. I have never had any problems. I always use my large tefflon sheet so that nothing small gets stuck to the lid. I also love the slide out feature. I love my new HTVRONT auto press. May not be for everyone but it's for me. Love your videos Angie. Your the best!!!
Hi! Can I ask you how you went about heating a sweatshirt? I just tried my hoodie and it was extremely difficult to get it to close and parts of the design didn’t come off.
I love mine. I have a rheumatoid condition and this press allowed me to make 50 Christmas stockings without any problems or any pain 😉 I like it better than the cricut auto press because the surface is bigger at 15x15 and obviously it's way cheaper. I have not had problems with the clearance so far
I love it, I purchased mine on pre-sale last year. I have the swing away and found that more scary with that heat plate swinging to the side of me. I also have several other means to heat set my projects if any of the issues listed became an issue for me. I’ve done the heavy hoodies with HTV and like you showed here, I just turned it sideways. I highly recommend this press
I have found work around for some of the cons. When doing polo shirts I simply place a Cricut heat mat inside the shirt. It makes it pretty thick so I use a large Teflon sheet over it and hold it down on each side as I push the tray in. I’ve probably done 300+ shirts since getting this press. My only wish is to have the carriage come out a little farther. Saying that, I have never burned myself.
I really wanted a Cricut Auto Press … but I could not fit it in my budget or my craft space … this press is an awesome alternative for a small crafting space and a limited budget. I love it!
I love mine. I’ve done up to XL size hoodies, a thicker zipper jacket with a Sherpa lining, tshirts, metal bottle opener, and the ceramic Cricut coasters and other things all with no problems.
I love mine as well, I agree that the platen is a con. I had a swing away but needed something that wouldn’t hit the wall to get a clear platen. It works for me. Thanks for your videos, they help me make decisions.
A major pro is the overall size. Those with limited space have this as an option. The fact the Cricut Autopress opens wide is great, but it requires more real estate space to use. I LOVE my HTVRont.
I have a silicone pad and a pressing pillow. When I need more pressure, I lay those on top of the mat that comes with it and it increases the pressure allowing me to do things that call for heavy pressure.
Love mine! Needed one that fit my space with a shelf above. It works perfectly for the sublimation I have used it for so far. I don’t do bulky items plus the Cricut press is just too much money for me.
I LOVE my HTVRONT Press. It’s all the average crafter needs. The fact that it’s a third of the Cricut brand was a game changer for me. I was on the initial backer distribution list for this and have no regrets at all. You can buy a different mat that is firmer for sublimating ornaments for more even pressure. ❤❤❤
Very well done evaluation! I just bought the HTVRont and tried it for the first time today. Your video is a big help in understanding the press and how to use it! Thanks, Angie!
I just received my HTVRont yesterday. I LOVE IT!! I had an old used clamshell that was not heating right (probably ever since I got it 2nd hand) and I did burn myself on it. It was probably twice as heavy as the HTVRont auto press as well. I do think I might purchase another clamshell in the future but I can see this HTVRont taking me a long way before the "need" for a clamshell arises.
Take the pad out for a slightly larger object. You don’t need the pad or use a thinner pad. For added pressure slide a heat pad pillow under the existing pad. That’s what I did and it creates additional pressure.
I bought this on to replace a different one...I cannot afford the cricut press and I love this one...I have used this one on many occasions and love it. The price can be beat and love the color options. It's amazing how they can put the cricut auto press on sale, I think they cost way too much and htvront also has other presses at a much better price than the cricut presses.
I love mine, tho I don't make shirts / sweatshirts. I have neck and back problems and I would never be able to open a regular press multiple times a day. The auto open feature is mandatory for me now too. I make a lot of smaller, solid items for sale (especially coasters, car coasters, and magnets). I've figured out a) use a nomex pad on top of the regular pad, and b) use cardstock shims to get extra pressure - I tried the Artesprix firm foam pad under the regular pad and it was too much pressure. A handful of heavyweight sheets of cardstock was just right.
I wanted one of these forever and I finally got one. But now I have buyers remorse and want to return it. lol I haven't even opened it. I have a clam shell one now and I don't think I like that fact that I can't open it. I'm waiting to hear back from these folks.
I love my purchase, but to be honest every heat press has its pro's and cons the User defined button is a positive and the auto saves on energy for me. The shutdown if not in use after 10 minutes is a big positive. If I have anything to large for the gap I will use the swing away, especially substrates that require more pressure that this machine gives, a small price to pay for a beautiful addition to my sublimation.
I am waiting on my Cricut Auto press and I’m pretty sure I’m going to like it better than this one. I had reservations but, I think I made the right choice. Thank you for this tutorial.
The htvront is my first and only heat press and I love the ease of use but can see the cons you mentioned. Do you have a video (or know of one) that addresses using software like Canva with purchased sub designs? My question (problem) goes beyond what I am seeing in sub videos and I don't know where to find help!
Hey, i absolutely love this video. Quick question. I am limited in my space inside my apartment & I’m a newbie with all this. I hvnt purchased my circuit yet. But just want your opinion. What do you recommend me to start out with. Being that I’m a newbie, and would like to start out doing shirts as gifts & for myself and also in case someone ask me to make them a shirt. A fbf recommended easy press 2. What is your thoughts… ty
Hi. I just bought one of these presses, I want to try to use it with White Toner Transfers for dark garments with my OKI8432 White toner printer. I have seen this press work with many different types of transfers, HTV Vinyl, sublimation, and DTF (Digital Transfer to Film) transfers, so I figure the press is versatile enough for White Toner Transfers which are very similar to DTF transfers. White Toner Transfers for Dark garments require a two step process - first, print the design onto a clear film, then press a sheet of glue to the clear film at 320 degrees for 120 seconds at medium pressure (marrying the two sheets so to speak), then press the married sheets onto the garment at 320 degrees for 30 seconds using medium to heavy pressure. I am failing on this second step with the HTVRont press because I can't get heavy pressure. Help me understand how the pressure works on this machine so I can jerry-rig it to use more pressure for the second step of my process. If I were to add a teflon pillow underneath my shirt, causing there to be less clearance between the top of the platen and substrate, does that create more pressure?
I find that adding thickness does NOT in fact increase the pressure at least to any amount that makes a difference. I am pretty sure it has a pressure sensor and once it reaches a certain pressure it just holds it.
Hi Angie thanks for the above information. I am looking at the above machine, yes because of the price, to do tshirts for residents in aged care. I have bought transfers from Temu to use and want to know if this machine will do the trick. I have done a couple of tshirts with just the iron so far, and they appear to have worked, haven't washed them yet though. Thanks for your thoughts in advance.
I love the open close feature because I have rheumatoid arthiritis and my shoulders hurts so this makes it a lot easier for me. Can you please tell me what temperature did you use on the notebook?
I really appreciate this advice. I just bought one of these and I haven't heard the fan go on or a beep when it reaches the set temperature? Do you think that it could be defective?
Hello Angie, I just got my heat press today, I don’t have a Cricket, I just need to know how & what I can do too get things so I can press on shirts, sweatshirts ? I have a laptop & printer but I don’t understand how to get things to press on the shirts! Can you tell me is there a website that I need to go upon to print off and use to press on to the shirts? I already have a nice Trans Pro Plus 16X20 with the interchangeable platens … I’m interested in this press to do Sublimation & cure my DTF prints … I’m currently using my 16X20 press to cure my DTF prints & constantly having to adjust it to hover for DTF curing… I just hate spending the money on a DTF oven if I can cure DTF prints & press Sublimation projects with this heat press … What are your thoughts ?
@@AngieHolden Thank you. So do you think the Artesprix mat would work? I'm wanting to do wind spinners and wonder if the softer mat will be to soft for them.
There are some hacks to trick this press to apply more pressure. One is to put a pressing pillow or some cardboard under the shirt . I love this HTV Ront press and so far it has met all of my HTV and sublimtion needs.
I just received mine and it worked - just made one shirt but no fan sound whatsoever. Anyone else not hearing any fan. Just concerned machine won’t last/work if fan isn’t working.
Hi @delynnegomez - you can definitely do coasters- and they turn out beautifully! I have had this press since it first came out and have spent a lot of time experimenting with different substrates/times/temps etc. This press is amazing and I think that most crafters who have bought it and really spent the time to get to know it would say the same. I have been making coasters, t-shirts, metal plaques, slate pictures, thick wooden plaques, mousemats, keyrings, hoodies, and little patches for sewing on to jeans etc. I experimented until I got it right. I made it all for a winter artists craft fair. I have had no issues with lack of space when threading hoodies or t-shirts over the platen at all, or issues with pressure. And this machine IS substantial…I find it quite heavy to lift so it stays in the one place. I also have other brands of heat presses…I have a Magic Touch clamshell press, a Cricut Easy Press 2, Cricut Mini, Cricut mug press and the HTVront tumbler and mug press. I love all of them…but my out and out favourite is this HTVront auto press. If you do buy one then I would suggest that you spend time experimenting with it and all it can do - personally I don’t think you will be sorry. Apologies for this long reply but I hope it helps you👍
They can be tough due to the rounded edges. I tend to use a rubber pad over the top to get as much heat as possible on those curves. However, I am not the best at them at least yet!
How does this work with easysubli for cotton or dark shirts for sublimation. I used a circit press with dark shirt and easysubli and it had like a engraved area and also when i took the paper off there was some parts that were dark on the paper like the ink didnt come off
I have pressded several things... and now I get the E2 error. I unplug it, way a while, and plug it back in. That USED to work. Now I do it and set it to one of the temp modes... it jumps to 410˚ and 15 seconds. What is that all about? I'm in the middle of a run. I'm screwed.
I just purchased my auto press and the start button keeps on flashing when I’m done pressing. I cannot get it to turn off. It only turns off if I unplug it. And suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you. Just curious. I am all of a sudden having issues with lines on my butcher paper which leaves them on my laminate when pressing. I've tried with and without extra pads for more and less pressure. I cant attach an image to show you. @@AngieHolden
I have this heat press & agree with your pros & cons. I was wondering if you have done one on the new HTV ront auto mug press? Really would like to get a mug press but on fence about which one. If you have already done one & I missed it would you give me the link to it. Thanks so much for your videos. I've learned so much from you.
I have a Cricut AutoPress, Siser Heat Press, and many hand held presses at the moment. I have had others in the past to review/use but I tend to only keep a few due to space.
I just got mine. But now I worry it won’t work on Screen prints I ordered. It says heavy presser. Anyone tried it with Screen prints? Any work around????

Hello, how long have you had yours overall? I'm wondering if the pressure is still excellent over time?

Which direction do you place the hoodie when pressing? Very on edge of purchasing after seeing so many negative Amazon reviews 😭
What Transfer company do you use? or do you have your own printer? :)
I got mine a year ago pre sale and LOVE it! I added the silicone pad for better pressure on some things.
Replacing the pad for some items is a great idea!
Adding a pad increased the pressure? Or decreased the pressure? I think I need more pressure for my hoodies but not sure how

@@AngieHolden I would love the Cricut Autopress for the space from it opening, but I unfortunately do not have the real estate space.

Good to know about the mat!
You are right it’s probably good for the average crafter. But with the amount of different substrates this is useless.

I got mine today as Christmas present and m hubby said is for sublimation ...I have no idea what is that lol do you have any video about?
Sure try this: ruclips.net/video/LYj0vS9lOhs/видео.html
Thank you for making this video😊
My pleasure 😊
What temperature did you do the shirts on?Im new to this and wanted to start pressing shirts only.Thank you!
Generally I do shirts at 385 degrees for 55 seconds.
Thank you!
I just received mine and it worked - just made one shirt but no fan sound whatsoever. Anyone else not hearing any fan. Just concerned machine won’t last/work if fan isn’t working.
Hmmm..not sure on that!
What about doing sublimation items how good is it for them please
I found it works well for most. For heavier pressure things you may get mixed results or have to play around with how to make it work.
Do you know the correct temp and time settings for dtf and vinyl printing?
It depends on what you are pressing. Always check with their instructions.
Can you use the to sublimate also or is it just for htv prints?
I used it for sublimation in this video.
This was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Have you tried doing coasters or white boards with those auto press?
I don't think I have done either of those.
@@AngieHolden okay thank you! I’ve read reviews that there is not enough pressure for to do coasters with that autopress. I wanted your feedback!
Apologies for this long reply but I hope it helps you👍
Hey Angie (my daughters name) :).
I am trying to figure a way to put sublimation on light plate covers. Any pointers??
They can be tough due to the rounded edges. I tend to use a rubber pad over the top to get as much heat as possible on those curves. However, I am not the best at them at least yet!
@@AngieHolden do you think the lamination sheet would hurt it? I have a plastic and metal plate.
Oh I have ONLY used ones that are meant for sublimation. I haven't used regular ones with laminate.
@@AngieHolden I have looked on Amazon and can not seem to find them . Is there a way to send me a link please. ??
Would this be fine for using white toner prints?
I would NOT use this for white toner prints. You need something that can apply heavy pressure.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
How does this work with easysubli for cotton or dark shirts for sublimation. I used a circit press with dark shirt and easysubli and it had like a engraved area and also when i took the paper off there was some parts that were dark on the paper like the ink didnt come off
Polyester fabric or any fabrics really can leave lines when you press. Regardless of the press you use. This press should work for EasySubli however.
Is there any way to turn off the auto turn off feature if it sits for a bit?
I don't think so.
Great Video!
Thanks!
I have not had that error. Maybe try contacting them.
Darn, the link for the notebook is a bad link. Great review though, thanks!
Sorry changed it out! Those are selling fast as I have looked for new notebooks twice already!
I just purchased my auto press and the start button keeps on flashing when I’m done pressing. I cannot get it to turn off. It only turns off if I unplug it. And suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I haven't noticed mine doing that but I always unplug my heat presses when I am not using.
Thank you! I did get in touch with HTVront and they said that was normal. They suggested that if the flashing light bothered me, to just unplug it!! 🤣
Does it work good for making slates?
I don't like it for slate.
Which press do you think is best for doing slates?
When it comes to honest it's only a couple of people i trust, and Angie is one. So, thanks. I'll keep my swing press. 😊
Thank you so much!
How would you clean the top plate? Thank you..
That is going to be TOUGH on this press! Maybe thread a cloth through that is long enough to hold on both sides?
I haven't used that one yet at least!
What can be used to clean it?
They make a heat press cleaner.
How does the shirt look after wash?
It worked fine!
Hello do you know if this machine is good for shorts and sweat pants ??
It would work for those!
Has anyone had any issues with the garment moving when sliding under the press? that's my only concern with this.
This is the reason I do not like it! I can't see what is happening!
Just are the other heat presses you use?
I have a Cricut AutoPress, Siser Heat Press, and many hand held presses at the moment. I have had others in the past to review/use but I tend to only keep a few due to space.
I just got my HTVRont and I do not know to cut it off. The power button just blinks. I have pressed it and nothing. Can you help me please?
I actually just unplug mine as I never leave it plugged in! Maybe try pressing and holding the power button.
It is supposed to stay blinking for its plugged in
Thanks for sharing xx
So will it work with DTF transfers or not enough pressure?
I am testing some DTF now and it looks good so far!
@@AngieHoldenI wonder if they will hold up well
I just got mine. But now I worry it won’t work on Screen prints I ordered. It says heavy presser. Anyone tried it with Screen prints?
Any work around????
I have done screen prints on my Cricut AutoPress and it works fine.
Hi Angie,
I have a huge question. I have a ET 2800 printer for sublimation and i can not get it to print the exact dimension that i set it to. Please help. If any one has any feedback. Its driving me nuts.😂😂
I answered this on another video where you commented!
After I turn my press off the power button blinks, I wonder if everyone else
stay blinking?
I unplug my heat presses when not in use so I have no clue!
I love mine!
Does it work on rhinestons
It should but I have not tried it.
Can you tell me how to shut it off. It didnt shut off automatically like the manual says
You can press the power button again or unplug. I keep all of my heat presses unplugged when not in use.
@@AngieHolden I pressed the power button- won’t shut off. So I just unplugged.
I love mine.
Good job
Thanks!
Does anyone find the limitation of 99 seconds a problem? There are many things for subbing that are longer times.
I would say that is another con for me at least.
Weird, mine goes to 140secs maybe more but I'm going to see how high tomorrow
I wish the clearance is a bit bigger
Me too!!
Can someone PLEASE tell me why the switch (on) light keeps blinking non-stop, is this some type of malfunction?
Hmmmm....doesn't sound right as I have not noticed mine blinking. Does it seem to work okay?
@@AngieHolden I've had a few people say it blinks because it's still plugged in.
It won’t turn off unless you unplug it SO WEIRD !!! Def a turn off on the product
@@AngieHolden I returned it. Thanks.
