Thank you for the very comprehensive review Angie. I have liked the look of this as an upgrade from my Cricut Easypress, and your comments have confirmed for me that this is what I would like to get. The cons you mention are very sensible but won't be an issue for me. However, like the lady who commented from Australia, it's just not available in the UK yet.
I also have a swing away press and I like it but would love to have a clam shell press .. as long as you have enough space behind it so when you put your item on the press you don't burn your hand on the top half.

I pre ordered this at a great price, however my control pad does not beep when finished, so I have to stand with it the whole time. Tried to file a warranty since it never worked when I received it, but can’t get any response from HTV Ront

It is a new press so it may be a while!
I do like the HTVRont press, still waiting for this one to become available in Australia

Maybe a different mat or something thicker would help!

I haven't but I would probably do it sideways so the hood is off of one side and the pocket or waist is off of the other side.

I bought my warranty from Square Trade for my heat press
I bought the mini 3. Was disappointed when I saw Teflon coating, which means I cannot use it at my house because I don’t want to kill my parrots.
I am not familiar with that one.
