Keep a folded dish towel in a ziplock bag in the freezer for use as a cooling block. Works great! Thanks for your helpful video!
That's an awesome idea! Thanks so much for watching!
I replaced my pad with a silicone mat. I trimmed the corners to have it sit inside of the outline of the platen. It gives it a firmer press. I have noticed with a few of the RUclipsrs suggest this and I find it works great.
Great idea! Thank you!
I'm for some reason having trouble finding the right one. Is it the $22 one on Amazon?
@@lizdugaro1748 there are a few of them. If you type in “Silicone mat” in the search bar you will come up with a few. I’m not seeing the exact one I got but any 15”x15” mat will work. Just not the wool one. It’s silicone. And the good thing about it, is that you can use a pair of scissors to trim up the edges so it fits inside the bottom plate. On the HTVRONT, the bottom plate is raised slightly, so you have to trim it down slightly. Hope this helps. One thing I did discover tho, is when I was trying to make some ceramic coasters that are ready for sublimation. I discovered that I was getting very uneven results. I went thru a box of 12 and only a few came out perfect. I found that if I put a 10” round I got from the Dollar Tree. I outline the round with the coasters I messed up and put the coasters in the middle that I was pressing, it worked like a charm! They all came out beautiful. I have a traditional clamshell heatpress and it’s in the garage but I haven’t tried them on it yet.
Great demo. I purchased this heat press and had buyers remorse. I never started my business because I felt defeated with this press. I am so glad I found your video. It has given me hope and confidence to make custom garments. Thanks.
Sooo happy I could help! Thank you so much for watching, you got this! 🙌🙌
HTVRONT said to put a use an extra pad, and this worked for me. So all is good.
I got one from Amazon that works fairly well
Mine came two days, this video is bound to make life easier when I start to use it. Thanks so much for posting it. Thanks RUclips algorithm for bringing it up for me. 😅
Hope it does! Enjoy it!! Thanks for watching, I'm glad the algo brought you here as well 😁
I have literally spent HOURS today trying to get my HTV Autopress to work with the DTF hack! Hours!!! Everywhere I read said to heat for minutes. You said 20 seconds and I'm like, what can it hurt? It friggin worked!!!! Thank you! And, I have a pressure pillow and completely forgot about it until watching this. You rock dude!!!
So glad it worked!! Minutes in my opinion will burn it even melt the image/adhesive. It's too much! And yes, use the pressing pillow it helps tons with certain designs and transfers 🙂 glad you found my video helpful! 🙌
Thank you! This has been the most informative video I have seen so far.
Glad I could help! Be sure to check out the review and comparison I have for the second one!
So glad you showed hoodies on this. XXL are a pain to press!!! Even on its side the arms of the XXL are huge and just a pain. If this had a swing away this would be amazing. Everyone brings up the pressure the pressures the easy part! The space between the heat platen is the part that’s the pain about this thing. It’s great aside from that one big problem.
I agree! The spillout from the hoodie itself just stops it from closing at times. Also the pressure issue sucks and can get annoying. But ultimately, It is possible to increase.
Awesome job. I love my HTVRONT Auto Press. It has worked very well for me thus far. I ordered an extra mat from Amazon and for some reason, it was sent back and I got my refund. Yes, sturdy cardboard, pressing pillow, or even another mat can help. As you said all things are not created equal. That is why one has to find the sweet spot to make it work for one's own purpose.
Yup! You need to dial in your settings for your equipment! Glad you liked the video!
Thank you for your demo, it is the best. AWESOME demo!! I have watched so many so I could decide to buy or not buy and yours answered all my questions, you showed the hoodie not just talked about it and the pressing pillow too. I needed up buying the heat press after watching your video 😃
Just got this press myself can’t wait to use it!! I think the pressure and the clearance problems are really the only downfalls from what I’ve watched and heard about so far. This is more of a luxury press then your regular clamp down with more clearance and being able to adjust the pressure. But at the end of the day the press comes with a good amount of features and is beginner friendly in my opinion. Overall I feel you’re getting a good press for a solid price it’s just more about the luxury of the press to me 🤷🏾♂️
Its a great press for sure. The pressure hasn't really been a problem for me. It sucks yea not be able to control it, but its definitely got its place in the heatpress game. I do think for the price, its a definite bang for your buck. I LOVE the fact that it heats up so quick! 😁
It definitely sucks not being able to control the pressure. Sure if you only plan on doing shirts. But I make over 50 different different blanks. And for this press it’s useless. I’m going back to my swing arm. I only bought this for a 2nd one for my business. Bad decision for sure.
Thanks for such a clean, easy to understand video. You answered my question exactly, as I was struggling to press DTF and screen prints with my htvront. I was super frustrated and considering returning. Thank you for your help!!
No problem! Super happy I could help! :)
Your demonstration is absolutely awesome👍. Thank you for an outstanding video demonstrating the HYVRont. You given me tips on how to make pressure adjustments without damaging the heatpress. Plus, I like you stay on focus and didn’t rambled off the subject.😎
Thank you so much for the kind words! It truly means a lot. I'm glad you found my video helpful
Thank you for this! I'm currently waiting for my press to be delivered and can't wait to try it out!
I still use it for quick hobby jobs all the time 🙂 been holding up well!
@NekoPrints I normally press screen printed transfers and htv so I definitely needed to know this hack. Hopefully it'll work for me. If not I still got my swing away that's been my work horse for the past 2+ years. Thank you again! You got yourself a new subscriber! 🤙🏾
@@BIGJZS appreciate that so much thank you! Best wishes to you on your venture 🙌🙌
Great video! Really like the auto heat press! Really a good helper for crafters!
Thanks so much for watching!
I just bought mine, i have taken the pad off and replaced it with a Teflon cover. But sideways works for me too
Have 6ou checked out the 2nd version?
No I literally just upgraded to the older 15x15
Thanks for that video. Just got my machine today. Going to try that pressing idea.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video, I just got my press but haven't set it up yet. This gives me more peace of mind on how it can be used. Would like to see a demo with sublimation!
Here's one! The video isn't about that specifically, but I show it done 😊
Thank you so much! So glad I came across your TikTok!
Thanks so much for watching! Im glad I could help!
I have the COOLING BLOCK, I love it. It cools it really quick. I bought off Amazon. Too keep cold I leave in my windowsill, but I'm in Michigan and it's winter right now 😀
Ooooo I'll look into getting one! I'm in Miami so it's always super hot lol I might have to stick it in the fridge 😂
Yep that’s my plan for the summer. In the fridge. Omg I love Miami. I wanna move there 😃
We wanna move out! 😂 It's soooooo expensive it's insane and it's getting worse 😢. It's great to visit but for living it's way different
I bought sample blocks of counter tops and the work great!!! Homedepot, Menards, etc.
To cool my transfers, I use a stone coaster I picked up from a thrift store, I have two so I rotate them to get the design cooler faster.
That's a good idea. I've heard that the cooling blocks most companies sell are simply just tiles
Thanks for this video! I jst got my HTV auto press the other day and pulled it out last night and was wondering if the pressure cld be adjusted! Thanks again for the tips!!
No problem 👍Glad I could help!
Thanks for the tutorial! Want get the HTVRONT auto heat press!
I still use it for my smaller jobs. I have the link in my description if you're interested in it! :)
Great video! I'm considering buying this, and this is one of the more informative videos on the press that I've seen.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you found it helpful 😁❤️
Thank you for this it was really helpful. You answered all my questions and concerns i had within the first ten minutes so im lucky i stumbled across your channel because now i know its not for me. I plan on doing alot of hoodies and the fabric bunching up at the back will be a nightmare when doing lots of items. You saved me from wasting my money purchasing this so thank you.
So glad I could help you make an informed decision! If I may suggest a press, I use the Heat Press Nation Signature Series. 3 years strong now and I love it. shrsl.com/44mub
They also offer it in smaller sizes
I use my medium Cricut heat mat for added pressure.
I've never used a Cricut press! I have used a similar handheld one though
You can also put it at an angle by putting the hood and one arm out of either the far left or far right corner.
You can, but it can get tougher with bigger sizes like XL and XXL
Thank you. Great demo and hacks. I'm wondering if I can swap out the soft mat with a wool pad for a harder surface for doing sublimation on things like wind spinners and coasters.
You should be able to, or you can also try adding a second mat under it.
Thank you@@NekoPrints
Can you please make a video on Preferred HTV brands.
I find your videos super helpful.
Thank you!
So glad you do, Thank you for watching! Yes I'll put that one on my list to do! 😁
Thank you for this video I just got this press today. It did not work until I used two pieces of cardboard and slid it underneath the PAD as you suggested now it works perfectly. I see someone in the comments said they replace the pad with a silicone mat. Which I'm going to try also thank you so much. I surely was going to return this. I wonder why they don't make the machine pressure adjustable?
Glad you found the video helpful! Honestly, I have no clue. That was my first thought. I really wish it could have at least 3 different pressure settings for light, medium, and heavy. That would make this press soooooooo much better!
@@NekoPrints I think sunpress does have pressure settings and it's like the HTVront heat press plus I think their slid out come out alittle further as well.
New to your channel. Thanks for the demo as I just ordered this heat press and the info will come in handy!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad I could help! 😊
So we don't need to put parchment or butcher paper over the dtf print before pressing? I just want to double check before I try my first DTF press at home, I ordered a ready to press dtf transfer from etsy. Thank you so much for your video!
I usually don't. But sometimes if a transfer has a bit of extra adhesive on the top, it will transfer over to your platen and make it a bit sticky. The brands I use don't have that problem so I don't have that problem. But you can also feel it. If you feel a bit of graininess on the top of the transfer, then be sure to use a cover sheet.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help!! @@NekoPrints
Great video. I’m looking to purchase one of these machines. Right now I’m using someone’s clam shell press and it doesn’t seem to regulate the temp correctly. I haven’t started doing shirts yet. Right now I’m doing sublimation on felt air fresheners and I think the pressure I’ve used is too much as they seem to flatten. And the neoprene can koozies flatten even more. I kept loosening the knob on this machine but the digital read out just keeps saying 5P which I have interpreted to mean 5 lbs. so I think it’s time to purchase something of my own and take this monster back to it’s owner. Thank you again for a great video.
Looks like it's time for a new press! Glad you enjoyed :) Hope you find the right press for you!
I print customer orders from home using the 16 x 20 HPN Signature Series Auto Open With Pull Out Drawer that I bought 2 yrs ago (love it). I'd like to print on-site at craft shows. I've done two so far and moving that heat press is a bear. It may not be good for it either. Do you think the HTVRont would meet my needs at a craft fair with the heat pillow? I use sublimation prints and the DTF prints. The DTF prints are the favs by my customers. Thanks.
I actually thought about using it for craft fairs myself since I also have that same exact HPN press! It is light enough to carry, especially compared to the HPN one. So I have used it for both sublimation and DTF. Some people can't get it to work with DTF, but I have never had a problem. I just usually double-press and give a finishing post-press as well. That being said, I have a new press similar to this one coming really soon, which I'll be making a video on. It's the same size and everything, except with adjustable pressure. I''d say about a month or so before the video releases in case you want a second option 🙂
This would be my 1st press and I want to get one that is really good and reliable BUT is a moderate entry level press that can do hoodies equally as much as t-shirts. Any recommendations?
Please can you tell how to press a polo shirt? Because of the buttons?
I always use a pressing pillow amzn.to/3TcaWfp
I have had such a hard time with screen prints. Dtf hasn’t been an issue. Looks like you did 320, 20 seconds and I wasn’t going that long, I’ll try it!
Maybe also try a bit more pressure! 😊
The pressing pillows work phenomenally. Also, I pealed it from the corner which helped. Hope you can get it working!
So i am confused, from video it looks good for DTF, but in comments it is not 🫠
I used easy press with DTF but the print gets wrinkled after wash. Is it because of loose press of Easy Press, and will buying this presser solve this problem??
I use it for DTF all the time and it's worked for me. But I use other media options as well, so I prefer a heavy duty heat press. I have videos on my tiktok of me pressing dtf with this press
Hey dude thanks for the content, I love that it is usually 10 mins or less. Makes it real easy to consume! I have some questions, if you can help that would be great! I am about to start a small business 10-20 t shirts a week and durability and ease of use is really important to me would you recommend:
1. DTF as an approach or heat transfer paper
2. This press with a pillow for now before I upgrade
3. What DTF printer would you suggest on a budget before upgrading?
Thanks dude! video liked and channel subbed!
Glad you u enjoy and find it helpful! To answer your questions:
1. What kind of heat transfer paper? If it's ink jet transfer paper, I tend to stay away. DTF is where it's at. Heat transfer Vinyl is also really good.
2. If you're using it for a business, go with a more heavy duty press. It's better all around and provides better pressure. You can find one priced similarly to this one here: amzn.to/43MDLlN
I made a video on it if you want to check it out. I'm also giving one away!
3. On a budget for a dtf printer, I'd say your best bet is to convert one. Otherwise you can check out this bundle:
www.heattransferwarehouse.com/uninet-dtf-100-a3-sheet-printer-supply-bundle/?aff=36
Hope this helps!
@@NekoPrints I appreciate your insight Neko. Thanks! I have decided to like to say go for something slightly more heavy duty. Also going to go for DTF as it seems the most user friendly as HTV needs cutting/weeding which feels very annoying for higher quantity orders. Your input was the deciding factor!
@@edwinchan6521 super glad I could help! Remember with dtf, if you don't have a powder shaker and dryer, you will have to be doing that manually. Just keep that in mind. Happy I could help!
What's your favorite all around heat press if you only have room for one?
Hands down the HPN Signature Series. This is the one I have. I've had it ever since I decided to take printing shirts seriously and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Thanks for watching!
What is used to clean the machine?
I wipe the top with a damp towel. But the platen I've never cleaned
My HVTRont auto heat press won't close. Do you have a hack for that? It worked perfect for the last 11 months until today.
Unfortunately no I'm sorry :(
Have you tried reaching out to HTVRont?
Thank u for this, my htvront press arrives tmrw
You're welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
How do you know if you need to use more pressure on DTF? Just by looking to see the fibers through the transfer? Great video!
Thanks so much! That's my way of doing it. Also, if it peels off when you're peeling the carrier
Have you tried this press with aPlastisol Transfer? I am going to to try to up the pressure with the hacks, but not sure if it will be enough.
It's worked a few times it's hit or miss really. Works best if you add extra pressure
I just got this press Thursday and I am having issues pressing full sheet DTF transfers. I tried adding more pressure and tried increasing temp. And it still didn't work correctly. 😢
Try double pressing it and when you peel, make sure to fold it over rather than pulling up
This heat press is why you want to get stuff from Amazon. Cuss with Amazon you can return it. Unlike myself, you ordered it from the company website and now I'm out $300. I need some of the pink stuff, so my tummy will feel better. Oh thank you for the video, it was kind of you.
Have you tried contacting customer service? I've heard a lot of people have problems getting in contact with them. And I agree, Amazon would be an easier solution for returns
Absolutely excellent walk through! Thank you so much :) 😊
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
I replaced my mat with a rubber press mat and it works great for my screen printing
Oh wow that sounds like an awesome idea! Thanks! I gotta check that out 🙌🙌
@@NekoPrintsthe credit goes to Made with Marilyn ,I saw it on her RUclips channel 😊
Thanks for the great video.
Thank you for watching 🙏🙂
Once the machine turns off does the light always blink?
Yes, I noticed that also. Mine also is blinking.
Yes it does
It’s just to show that it is plugged in.
Did my 1st shirt and idk what went wrong idk if the detergent j used I did a Scarface shirt and the black on his vest turned like brownish color the rest of the image is fine maybe I didn’t heat press that part rite idk ugh
You need to keep testing to find out what went wrong. It's part of the process. To many factors to consider when asking online
Love you video!! What time and temp did you use for the different projects you demonstrated on this video? TIA!
Thanks so much! I don't remember what I pressed haha but for the most part:
DTF prints - 320f for 25 seconds
Sublimation - 400f for 40-45 seconds
HTV - 300-310f for 15-20 seconds (I also always try to add more pressure if I decide to use this press for HTV)
Thanks!! Do you cure your dtf prints with this press and if so what temp and approximate time! TIA
Thankyou 🤩
Thanks for watching!
Where can I get the pillow
These are the ones I use amzn.to/3uxzFSh
What is the cover you are using? Butcher paper, silicone or teflon?
I use kraft paper
@@NekoPrintsThank you for your answer. I tried the white butcher paper and it seemed to pull some of the ink off. Has that happened to you?
No problem, and yes it has. When that's happened it's when I use wax paper or cookie sheets. They work with HTV, but with dtf or screen print transfers it sticks to the design and ruins it unfortunately. Stick to kraft paper it works great and is super cheap
Thank you!
My press starting making popping noise when first heat up have any ideas why this could be happening
That's normal from what I remember. It's the heat expanding the pieces of plastic and all of it adjusting under the heat. It should go away after some use.
Do you ever notice if there is uneven temperature? I'm looking for a heat press burned myself out looking. Do you think this would be a good small business press? Thanks
I haven't had any issues with uneven pressure. All my sublimation prints come out pretty good. But that being said, I really only use it for sublimation. If you want a better press that's best for all around use, check out the one I use the heat press nation signature series
shrsl.com/3x078
I am planning to use this HTVRONT with inkjet sublimation paper. (Sublimation Transfer) Would it be effective?
Yes it will! I use all the time to sublimate. But remember, Inkjet and sublimation are 2 completely different things. "inkjet sublimation" is usually just marketing for inkjet transfer paper.
I have heard that the DTF transfers only last maybe a couple of washes with this because the pressure isn't strong enough. Any thoughts? I'm thinking about returning mine, but I would prefer not to if it will work with DTF.
I usually double press and press again after I remove the carrier. Tbh I still wear most of the shirts I pressed with this press using DTF. It's been well over a few months and 2 or 3+ washes a month
Ive had my HTVRONT for a few months love it for sublimation, someone ask Me to make 50 shirts with DTF and I did not knowing* much about it, they wrinkled after wash was told because of not enough pressure, really could’ve used this video like 2 weeks ago lol thank you
can you do white toner press with the HTVRONT
Releasing a video today on just that!
awesome @@NekoPrints
Can you recalibrate the temperature? I've had this machine for a year now and noticing there cold spots on my products after pressing. Im freakin out!
Unfortunately no. If you're still within the year, you might be able to contact them for a warranty replacement. The heating element might be having problems.
@@NekoPrints I'll do just that! Thank you for getting back to me and for your suggestion!
Great video! Well paced an informative
Thanks so much! Glad you found it helpful
Hi, how many time can you try pressing if you see the design is not peeling... like if i do it many times will something happen? Will it crack or something when washing? 🙈
The most I've ever done has been 4 or 5 times and the shirt was still good. But that would probably also depend on the type of transfer. Htv, screen print, dtf, etc.
Can it press pvc ?
Like what kind of product? I'll test it out
Solid video
Thanks for watching!
Looking to purchase - can the HTV quality print screen print heat transfers
Sorry are you asking if it can press HTV or screen print transfers? In either case, it can but it needs a bit more pressure to properly press them.
Do you know why I get wrinkles in the Dtf after the final press and how to fix that ?
try stretching the garment and making sure it's all flat prior to the second press. Also make sure you're using the appropriate heat and time when initially pressing. I usually use 320f for 20-30 seconds. The second press should also only be 4 or 5 seconds
What temp did you set it to for the htvront vinyl to the tee? I had edges still. Didn't see did you try on a hoodie too with the vinyl? I'm for some reason having an issue with pressing my sons hoodie and his tee. Both don't have tags so I can't set Temps.🙄
I had it at 320 I believe. That's usually what I use for vinyl, but I never really use vinyl with this press. I use it mainly for sublimation. You can try putting a thick pad under the pressing matt to increase the pressure a bit
I want to do license plates and other sub straights, have you done anything other than clothing
Does the press close when it cools down or is it always open?
It's always open
I do more sublimation than vinyl. Would the results be similar to DTF?
I've had some pretty good results with sublimating tshirts. Haven't tried much else though to sublimate like slabs or hard material.
Help with puff vinyl on this press?
Maybe using a pressing pillow? Or something a bit more firm for added pressure. Pressing pillow might have uneven spots.
I’m interested in buying a press immediately but want to be able to press 2XL, 3XL hoodies regularly. With the side press, do you think I would run into a lot of problems?
If you're looking to do a lot of hoodies both 2 and 3 XL, I would not go with this press. Id go with a 16 x 20 at least. Check out the walapress heat presses from heat transfer warehouse. The link should be in the description
You say not all DTF transfers are created equally...Would you share your favorite brands? Please and thank you!!
I love TKO Sales DTF transfers! They're my go to! You can try them and use my code NEKOPRINTS for 10% off your first order 😊
Hello......When I go to turn off the machine, why does the Power Light or (Switch) Light continue to flash?
Thanks!
Mine does the same thing. Its just how it was made
Wow….thank you for the quick response. Have you checked with the Manufacturer? It just seems odd. I would think it would cause premature wear on the light.
Thanks again!🙏🏼
@@asinnerunderconstruction5104 I haven't, but everyone has the same flashing light. It's really never bothered me but then I again I never thought about it putting early wear on the light. Good point!
It only blinks to show that it is still plugged in.
Have you had any issues of your machine just beeping and the R light just flashing? I can use it one time and all goes well but then when I try to press another shirt and I press the R button to lower the heat plate it just beeps over and over the R blinks and the heat plate will not lower. When I first got the press I didn’t have any issues it’s not even two months old and now it’s having this issue. If I unplug the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes or so then I can press again but one time only and then I have the same issue. HTVRONT will not respond to me.
Hi there, I actually have not encountered that issue. Only if the platen isn't pushed all the way in but that's the only reason I can think of.
@@NekoPrints thank you so much for getting back to me! I actually figured it out last night. Apparently I was being an idiot and not realizing I wasn’t pushing the tray all the way in. It was one of those 🤦♀️ moments
When i press vinyl with this sometimes it peels do you have any tips to make it transfer better?
Use a pressing pillow. Or try adding another pad under. That helps increase pressure
@@NekoPrints do you have any recommendations cause right now i use a Soply 15" x 15” Thick mat and it works alright but im looking for better solutions
So you do recommend it for dtf? I love that machine but ppl say they peel faster when washing
Not specifically for Dtf. I'm gonna make one last video on it soon. But if you want to do Dtf solely or the majority, na. If it's every oncr in a while sure
@@NekoPrints yes I will be doing dtf only I guess I will keep looking for another hear press. Thank you for the response.
@@abnergonzales244 no problem! Check out the walapress from heat transfer warehouse
I have a cooling stone!!! I love it!!!
Nice!! I really need to get one 😂
So not recommended for DTF? Ugh I was wanting to add a second press that was automatic.
If you're pressing the majority Dtf I wouldn't recommend it. It can do it, but solid images. More detailed images with smaller pieces don't work as well
Ok thanks. So disappointing. I was hoping to save some time and my back from from using my clamshell for 50 plus shirts at a time.
Have you used this press to sublimate on slate pieces?
No I haven't
Have you noticed the temperature randomly dropping? On three separate occasions I had it set to 315 and after pressing one or two items with the extra pressing pillow the temperature suddenly dropped to 304 and the green button started flashing orange again.
I've had that happen when the garment is cold usually. But it heats back up fairly quick. Prepressing can help
Does anyone know how to clean the heat plate? I tried to use the wrong material and it melted a little on there.
never tried! Maybe flipping over?
Can you heat press caps with it?
Not with this press
@@NekoPrints thanks
have u tried sublimating a keycap on the htvront
I actually haven't! I'll try it out 👌
@@NekoPrints do you have any idea how to imprint it on keycaps?
As long as the cap is flat you might be able to use a sublimation htv?
Amazing machine good content 🙌🏿🔥🔥💰💰
It's a good machine with its drawbacks 🙌
Do you know if there is a way to clean it ?? I accidentally pressed it with dtf film on to cure now its stuck to my plate.
Because of the position it could be tough, but I'd pull out the bottom plate as far out as possible and wipe it down while hot. I usually wear a thick glove and use a damp towel go clean off any adhesive gunk left over with my bigger press. Maybe turning it off after it heats up and turning it upside down? Lol that's all I can think of 😅😅
Can I use this for blank canvasses?
It would depend on how you want to print them
Anyone knows answers to those 2 questions. 1. the manual mentions something about "cooldown" but no info about how to start it, i can switch it off then it cools down, but is there something else? 2. the manual mentions that after cooldown when the cooldown is initiated and the start button starts to blink green the press can be lowered, thats how it was shipped. any idea how to do this? when i turn it off it cools down but cannot lower the plate and nothing blinks green. Thanks
The plate I don't think can be lowered when it's off. Cooling down really just happens when it turns off
I questioned if adding a pad would increase the pressure or if it just stops when it hits a specific force. The not so scientific approach was to place a thin 10x10 shipping scale on the drawer without the pad, it measured 126 lbs of down force. then place the scale on top of the pad and measured 106 lbs.. The final test was with two pads, the scale was about 1/16" from the platen, it measured 62 lbs. of force and didn't over drive the motor (it stopped after compress a small amount). Assuming this is driven by a DC motor, this makes sense and matches the torque curve.
So it's counter intuitive, a 1/4" mat mat rather than a 3/8" mat may provide higher pressure than a thicker mat. as I said, not scientific, just observations. Thanks for the video.
That's interesting because while I have better results with certain media, others aren't as good. DTF works well with pads for me, while htv is a hit or miss
@@NekoPrints I've had pretty good results with both. I checked temp on mine using a thermocouple and it runs a few degrees cool, so I adjust heat and duration.
Thanks again for doing the videos and the inspiration.
What is DTF?
Direct To Film printing. It's a type of full color transfer. You can try it out from FM Expressions and use my code NEKO10 for 10% off your first order 😀
Unfortunately mine does not automatically release and I have only had it for a month. My garment ends up burning because it doesn't release. No help from customer service.
So sorry to hear that! Does it open at least with the button? Did you buy it directly from HTVRont or on Amazon
All the cooling block is is a floor tile.
I've been hearing that a lot! I might come out with my own brand with 2-floor tiles. Double the cooling power😂
I don't understand, if it is auto pressure - won't it stop pressing down sooner if you use things to make it go up higher?
No, from what I noticed, the auto pressure kicks in after it it thinks it reached a certain depth. Then it adjusts. So it goes down, stops at its dedicated spot, then adjusts
Is that butcher paper you're using?
I use kraft paper
thank u!!
You're welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
