    I do DTF printing and press my prints @ 150°C for 10 seconds.
    The reason for cold pealing is for the melted glue to cool as to not come off the fabric when peeling.
    The shorter press time avoids the bubbles in your prints.
    The powder glue actually starts boiling after a maximum of 15 seconds and causes the bubbles you see in the Gnomes hats.
    A second press is done with silicone paper to set the print.
    Hope this helps 😉

      @@engelavanwyk7731 I am new to this and learning a lot, can you tell me what you mean with a second press? do you mean after its pressed 10 seconds, cools and peels that you press it again with the silicone paper only? also if you mentioned the powder boils after 15 seconds should it be heated on the heat plate before being pressed? I've seen this done in a couple videos.

    If you put the Teflon sheet back over it and press again for 5 to 10 seconds I think you will see a large difference. Dtf actually requires two presses. One like you did and another to finish it, after the second you will see the gloss factor will be much more intense. Love watching.

      It does matter what color shirt you use, I find I still go back to ppd transfer for black or dark. If doing a color print there is no cutting and weeding. The colors change depending on the color of the shirt. Wish dtf workes all all colors but it doesn't. Have you tried ppd transfer paper. You have to cut it around the design if you don't want the square look. But no problem with the cut and pr8nt software and cutters, press 13 seconds and done, no second press. Colors are true and use the dark shirt paper, it works on all color shirts, no mirroring.

    I would only suggest using the DTF sublimation hack if you have a large, well-ventilated work area. I did the DTF sublimation hack with a different brand DTF powder - and in my small house, it caused me to have breathing issues. It doesn't have a smell, so be cautious or use protective equipment.

    Delonda, I just stumbled upon your video. Thank you thank you thank you! Long story but I’ll try to make it short. I’ve been following many coaches as I try to take my business to new heights. Someone recommended I get an Epson ET 15000 to do eco solvent dtf prints. I ordered it the same day. I let my cousin whose been in business longer than me talk me out of doing DTF but I couldn’t get the hang of regular sublimation. So now I’ve had my printer two months ($762) and haven’t used it since my first try with photoshop. The color that printed wasn’t the color on the laptop screen. BUUUUT you just gave me hope. I love Microsoft. I help others with the software virtually. I’m going to give it another try now using your method.

    Excellent instructional video. Things to notice that viewers should be aware:
    1. substituting other products other than what you have demonstrated simply induces more variables that will alter the outcomes.
    2. INK tracking WILL occur. Your printer was printing at a very, very, slow speed allowing ink to dry more completely. But tracking WILL occur eventually.
    3. Wet ink is what attracts the adhesive powder to bond to the image. The 'whiter' the result of the powdering process the better the adhesive coating will be and therefore the durability of the print on the cotton substrate.
    4. Yes, this is a costly (comparative) method to hack incompatible methods. However, consider the full cost of doing a proper print on cotton, especially black fabric. In comparison, the hack you demonstrated is a CHEAP way to print on black cotton with an acceptable soft feel.
    5. Put that press on a cart with wheels. If doing multiple garments, being outdoors during the pressing (curing) of the DTF transfer will prove to be a very wise action. Every DTF system makes it clear in bold red letters that ventilation is a process REQUIREMENT. There is no amount of chemical gases that are safe to inhale. I find the humidity within the garments and the chemicals related to the origin of the garments outgas during the pre-press such significant levels of unknown gasses that ventilating in the press area is a major concern if doing 10 or more garments in a row.
    I do intend to acquire the products you have demonstrated and take my own DFT journey. I will modify my printer to insure those rollers do not track ink onto subsequent prints. I don't think those exit rollers are essential. Keep up the awesome instructional work you do.

      @JimSweeneyMMP 2 года назад +1

      To note- your comment about “whiter” powder is not correct. Only white ink will do this. You will never do this hack successfully on a dark or black shirt. The powder is just glue. It cures transparent. Also since the stretchy powder glue has no stretchy white ink to bind to, it will eventually crack and fail (tests show a 15% loss of color after the first wash, and cracking at 8-10 washes. This is not not a via commercial application. For personal use, sure. The video though was outstanding as I’m sure you’ll agree. And thank you for your comment about proper ventilation. We have entire ventilation systems to extract the smoke, which contains glycol.

    • @JimSweeneyMMP
      @JimSweeneyMMP 2 года назад +1

      I meant not a viable commercial application. Also your tracking wheel comment is on point. And to add: for those that have printers without a straight exit tray, a straight exit is vital to avoid scratching. You’ll need to build something.

    I've been using HTV backing for my sublimation t's. This is a game changer because I really don't like the feel of the backing on cotton t's. I'm going to be changing my process, thanks to you. You really explain the process better than other vids I've watched. Thank you so much!

    I tried the tape method, and the stack of paper, did not work for me. So what I did was tape regular printing paper and use doubles sided tape and tape them both together and it work. I was not giving up on this project. Thanks again for your help. Keep the videos coming

    Very good tutorial. First time watching anything about DTF. I will be trying. Yes extra steps, but easier and more cost effective and more color variety to be able to not have to just press on white polyester!!! Thanks for taking the time!!!❤
