In my attempt to make myself a motorcycle, I’m now going to start making my first gas tank. This is the first - of several videos, showing how I go about this part of my project.
Great videos. Thank you for posting. I wanted to share that I use a bandsaw with wood cutting blades, followed by an autobody rasp for making my foam forms. I tried using a knife as you are here and I didn't like the lack of control I had forcing the blade through it.
Thank U. That’s good advice. I will soon be starting part two of the process. Have some trouble deciding what shape and design I want… Then I might try some kind of rasp :)
Oystein, Kool Stuff ... There's Lottsa Work in this endeavor ! You can get a Foam that's fiberglass Resin compatible.... if your going to do the Tank in Vinyl Ester Resin.... or...... Exothermic Fiberglass resin . This is Alcohol and Gasoline Compatible. I Like what your doing ... Few people realize the time factor to Do This !! You can scare yourself If you keep track of the Time involved . Where are you located ? Steve
Thanks. Thanx for the tip. And yes it is very time consuming indeed! A lot of thinking, planning trying and failing before it works… I’m located in Norway, outside Oslo…
@@DeSpiteMeccanica I've been to Stavanger..... when I worked in the North Sea way back in 79 ! i want 20 of these Tank's done by Friday next week !... Only Kiddin ... CarryOn Steve
Hello. Yes I’m sorry it takes some time. I can’t decide how I want it to be. So many possibilities… :) But I will soon start to make the final shape I hope. Then I can start on the next step. It will come, but it takes a little time…
Utrolig fint prosjekt ! 👍

Can I get a blueprint for ducati 900ss frame and swing arm and fuel tank
That is going to be an endurance tank?
Hi. Sorry for the late response. Don’t know the right name for it, but its going to be a bit like the old Norton tanks.
