Tuur Janssen but ur right the gas tank is not its just sheet metal but aslong as there is gas in it it wont rust unless there is water in it or its sits long without gasoline
Hey I think that you did a great job with not just the tank but the whole build ! Keep up the good work ! A friendly suggestion when putting filler on the tank cover the entire tabk to come out with a nicer finish !
Awsome. But considering the time involved may be easier to make a cool cover to go over predator tank. Kind of like plastics on street bike tank. Might give it a simular look with less hassle. Very well done though. Might be time to upgrade to tig. Less heat and warpage plus no slag. I use the flux core myself most of the time. I like to weld with the fan on me. Gas dont like that.
Looks great. I always have trouble with homemade tanks rusting up and clogging fuel lines. Seems you do too judging by your last tank. But im too cheap to buy sealer so i guess it is what it is lol
Awesome work man. I really dig your videos. Since you're always building your own fabrication tools, this video got me thinking, you should build your own English wheel would save you a lot of work in the future for builds like this one.
I stupidly told a group I was gonna make a gas tank from scratch and now I can't back out. so this video made it easier to think of a good way to do it. a lot easier than what I was originally planning.
Great job on the fabrication work. I think you are getting better. May want to invest in a set of by-metal hole saws, works great drilling in sheet metal. low RPM with drop of oil.👍

Awesome work! Not going to lie, I was having huge anxiety at the 2.09 as you were cutting towards your arm!?!?!? lol
Great job, your bike is starting to look a bit like a rat bike version of a Kawasaki 636 Ninja ! I can't wait to buy my house to have the possibility to build up my workshop (an my mini's) as well, you're truly an inspiration bro' ! Keep up the good job.
For thin stuff like that step drills are the trick, the harbor freight ones aren't the best but will do the job for awhile. None of that break through bite bs. Your wrists will thank you. I've damn near broke a finger like that lol
Not sure what software he uses, but premiere pro makes anything more than 10x a pain to speed up both video and audio. A good stop gap is audio at 10x and video at 20x...or something like that. Unfortunately that means audio video out of sync. Could just be artistic license too.
Nice job. When are you going to get away from these Briggs style engines and maybe jump into the Chinese 125cc and up engines? That 500 was a good project. But maybe break down a simple live axle go-kart and throw a SSR 125cc on it and make a sweet shifter kart. Cheap parts all around.
Should build it out of stainless steel or aluminum to avoid rust forming on the inside and contaminating the fuel, or insert some sort of bag inside it that prevents the old from contacting the walls
get rid of the plastic cap...itll look way more trick....under that huge honkin' plastic one is a metal maybe..smaller the better since its a mini bike
my tank was sealed with the resin used for fiberglassing, no idea on the brand you can get it here by the litre, but it's cheap and works well, mine was coated 2 years ago and I have't had an issue
i know what it is to weld thin metal and atleast for me it isnt a problem so i guess he can do it too. u just have to set your welder right to make it easier.
late I belive he can do it, too. But I think it's not a problem to use a tiny Bit thicker metal because it's way easier. It is a little bit havyer but that's not a problem I think.
late looks like he's using a inexpensive flux core welder, you dont have the precise voltage and amperage like you do with a High buck Miller, too much chance of burn thru with thinner metal. A tig welder would have been perfect for this
well thickest i would use for cas tank is like 1mm thick and he uses like 3mm thick metal :D allso he could made those side pieces from just one piece if he used thinner metal cus its way easier to shape
Dude. Watching you work is like watching a monkey hump a football. That should of been done with four pieces, lot less work, less welding, less grinding, way easier to blend. Your leak test, is bad idea. Got water in the tank. Now going to rust out the weld areas. Smart way is to add max 1 lbs of air and spray outside with soap and water. Btw, pressure testing with air is highly dangerous. A small weak spot even in the untouched steel can blow out.
Now that's a "tank" with that thick plate, only missing tracks and a gun tower ;)
Would take a lot to dent it.
The bike looks awesome, nice job, you might want to get some tank sealer so that the inside doesn't get all rusty
Experimental Fun it could be galvanized wich means zinc plated wich prevents rust
that was not galvized, also that would be very dangerous to weld
Tuur Janssen every piece of metal he used on the gs100 build is pretty much galvanized atleast thats wht he said
Tuur Janssen but ur right the gas tank is not its just sheet metal but aslong as there is gas in it it wont rust unless there is water in it or its sits long without gasoline
He probably used tank sealer, Im about to watch part 2 to see.
Great build defiantly one of my favorites!!
Awesone . Great job man. Just wanna say even though I don't always comment, I watch all your videos.
Oxm
Nice
I really enjoyed watching this project. I will have to give a try sometime with my everlast mig welder. I've always wanted a customized gas tank.

I know I’m late to the party, but this is one cool build. Great job and thanks for sharing and the insight. 👍
Que buen trabajo quedo exelente el tanque saludos desde Corrientes.
Impressive gas tank build. You are going along nicely. Bravo.
BAD ASS DUDE!! Matches the bike perfect.
Nice looking tank! Metal may be a bit thick but whatever works.
Your fabrication skill progression has impressed me a lot. Keep up the good work man!
The channel art is beautiful! Great work!
Looks great. I always have trouble with homemade tanks rusting up and clogging fuel lines. Seems you do too judging by your last tank. But im too cheap to buy sealer so i guess it is what it is lol
Im liking the new angles of the project, and great job on the gas tank looks good
I am impressed by how you made this gas tank. The log metal shaping tool is on point.
+rather B welding what gauge sheet metal did you use? Great looking tank btw!
The tank looks like an old BSA tank. Very cool!
I like the way u edited it this time and the tank look awesome on that bike!
hey man...tank looks great. one suggestion.... SMILE once in a while! show us you enjoy what you're doing. keep it up.
muito bom. imagino o trabalho que deu fazer esse deposito. está muito mesmo
Great video, wicked metal work! Hope you study engineering, you seem to be a natural! Keep it up !
Awesome job, and I may not comment, but I watch almost all your videos. Keep up the great work.
Good stuff!
Good stuff man.

Very good work indeed- not an easy task at all - good for you
Spends 5 hours+ on a gas tank, uses a crap cap
true, bro
Nice tank.
You are an absolute artist
Looks awesome
Very nice tank! Please paint the frame red. Polish the tank and clear coat it. It looks like a Hodaka trail bike.
Great job on the fabrication work. I think you are getting better.

Awesome work! Not going to lie, I was having huge anxiety at the 2.09 as you were cutting towards your arm!?!?!? lol
could also hydro form one from sheet metal using a pressure washer
Love the projects
Love it👌
Muito bom seu trabalho parabéns.
great looking tank
Nice work on the gas tank
good job on fabing up the tank, but your going to need to use a good two part epoxy sealer inside that tank.
What a masterpiece!
you need to buy some gas tank sealer to put in that new gas tank so it doesnt trash your fuel like the other tank did. keep up the geat videos!
I am from india.. ...Great job
Great job, your bike is starting to look a bit like a rat bike version of a Kawasaki 636 Ninja ! I can't wait to buy my house to have the possibility to build up my workshop (an my mini's) as well, you're truly an inspiration bro' ! Keep up the good job.
You should invest in an English wheel and air hammer.
This is something I want to get into. I've got an everlast welder and plasma cutter. I just need to find myself a treen trunk
Is your welder a true mig, or a flux core? If so pretty impressive. Imagine what you could do with a tig welder.
For thin stuff like that step drills are the trick, the harbor freight ones aren't the best but will do the job for awhile. None of that break through bite bs. Your wrists will thank you. I've damn near broke a finger like that lol
did anyone notice the audio is way off some times
Spencer wells yea

My first time on this RUclips channel and I was very impressed with what I've seen so I'm going to Subscribe now. ❤️ Hello
Dude, You Should Be Employed For Big Bucks, Straight OCC choppers Going on in Your Shed
Nice.. bike frame is of iron or steel, pipe?
Do you find Mig welding cheaper the Ark welding ?
P.S what your doing is Kick Ass
Nice job. When are you going to get away from these Briggs style engines and maybe jump into the Chinese 125cc and up engines? That 500 was a good project. But maybe break down a simple live axle go-kart and throw a SSR 125cc on it and make a sweet shifter kart. Cheap parts all around.
Gas tank looks pretty thick
@15:28 why not just buy a damn hole saw seems like a better idea! its called work smarter not harder just saying nice job on the tank btw

Chris you fellow ,Golden hands!
The best....👍👍👍
Show a video of you ridding it
You are like me but ten times better.like your work keep it up
don"t know why the link came up
I want to make petrol tank for my bike can i make it with using atc welding
Nice vid but what do u keep the inside from rusting
sealer
Keep it Filled up with petrol chuck a magnet next to the outlet 👌 those sealers are junk. Ethanol eats it and it start to flake off worse than rust
Looks to be 10-12 gauge?
my tank was sealed with the resin used for fiberglassing, no idea on the brand you can get it here by the litre, but it's cheap and works well, mine was coated 2 years ago and I have't had an issue
why u using so thick metal? alltought great video and great product

Next time slightly chamfer the edges so weld goes below level. When you clean the welds you won't be taking all the weld off
I don't know much about welding but why do the places next to your welds get white after you welded that part?
Jeroen Osse could be a layer of galv burning off (zinc?
very good nice
Armored tank dude! weighed about 60 kg. hahah
You need a plasma cutter.
You've got a perficly bad stick welder and u use the mig
you should get into doing some hydo forming.
Invest into some circle saws
hand crafted fuel tank that made seal it please
15:28 whats the song called?
Show !!!!!!!
geometry was his favorite class in high school.Ha Ha!
i think it istime for you to start building real cars, Hot Rods and more...
You need a breather hole on top of it
thats built in to the caps in generator engines (atleast 80% of the time)
Ian Duijsens yeah but not on this one. The tank that the cap came off had a separate breather hole next to it
o okay didnt see that
Он чё, бронированный?!!
RatherBwelding please if you read this make your own homemade car
that works
What is your job
you can do how to's!
Your audio never sped up with video its playing real time while the picture is sped up
Yeehaw
Cringe moment with the angle grinder I was waiting for it to jump and go into you arm/hand. Buy a clamp dude great video tho.

Another tank thats going to put rust in your fuel system AWESOME
