So refreshing see a young person and female at that learning a craft rather than just wanting to be a "social media influencer". I started as a tool maker and fabricator, miss being able to work in a proper workshop

Thats right, its nice to see young girl who is making stuff wich require thinking. Social media are cancer, many girls are chasing likes instead do something more productive.

I loved seeing a young woman in a metal fabrication trade, well done you 👍. I was watching your technique, there are some improvements you can make, like all comments take as much of it as you want. First, your dobbing the filler wire, when you should be feeding it in. Feeding will allow you to better control you weld pool/puddle size and temperature. Also feeding reduces the possibility of tungsten inclusion/contamination. Second, i could see when you're welding you're just holding the torch. Im sure you've noticed the weight of that lead when you trying to get certain positions. Wrap the torch lead around your arm a few times, allowing for a little slack at your wrist, this will allow you to freely move your hand and torch as required and your arm will take the weight of the lead. Third, when your cutting metal and creating dust, especially aluminium, put a damn respirator on! You're a talented young woman, dont go wrecking your lungs. I was a welder for 15 years, i moved on to become a aircraft engineer and still do the odd job. The biggest thing i learned in tig weld was patients, dont be in a rush, set yourself up and youll put out a good weld. Fyi it might be a good idea to purge your tanks with some agron before fully welding; better and more uniformed penetration. If youve ever got some questions just shoot me a message and ill do my best to answer. Keep up the awesome vids

Nice consistent looking welds - you are very talented one :) One hint for you - if you doing any aluminium (or 316 welding equip yourself with ventilated welding helmet or fume extractor at least. Fumes of aluminium are extremely poisonous. Beside lungs damage you can suffer from neurological issiues (problems with concentration, regres of cognitive functions), major hair loss and lower bone density. Also auminium vapors can cause infertility.

I watch tons of welding videos and it troubles me how most people do not prep a weld like you so excellently did.. Most people do not gap their welds. you try to point out that they can't achieve complete joint penetration without a proper gap and you get dismissed..
I took welding in college and the women were better than most men. it's all about dexterity..
    outstanding job !!!

Very nice but just some helpful tips when welding Aluminium.
1 .Always clean your weld joints throughly even if it's new metal as the more of the oxide layer you can remove the better your welds are.
2.Always handle the clean metal with nitrile gloves or a pair of tig gloves only used for Aluminium welding.
The reason I say this is oil from your hands or any contaminates from the work shop can get into your weld.
3.Wipe your filler rods down with acetone and your weld area for cleanness.
These are observations and you may of done this off camera but I would include this as people that weld take note of this.

Beth, nice work, I'd suggest 10-15 more amperage on the edge-to-edge outside corners so their crown of those welds were flatter (like the lap joints of extrusion to side wall welds) and at the ends of the sidewall laps- wouldn't a slower back out of the pedal help reduce the crater shown in the welds? I prefer to use a vixen file on sheared edges so there's less dross to float off in the cover gas. Have you section-sawn a tube to plate weld to see if you're soaking/penetrating the weld too far into the ID? Very a nice job, critiques to help refine your trade; hope you acid etch the resultant tank to avoid mill scale 'flowering'? Suggest you move to the Optrel hood- much preferred!
