F1 is a disaster. I hope it’s a massive failure and Vegas backs out of the three-year contract early and NEVER thinks of extending it to the 10 year full contract.
The only winner here is F1. And in a city where the house always wins - the rare occasion has happened where an outside entity has bent the house over.
It’s horrible for locals. It’s horrible for small businesses. It’s a traffic nightmare. It’s ruined the visual appeal of Vegas.
F1 can suck it.
F1 is sucking it. Sucking cities financially dry, f1 is a business not a sport.
Can I have some cheese with that whine
How has it ruined the visual apeal of Vegas? You do realise that F1 has only built one permanent structure? The rest will be torn down and Vegas will return to "normal" within a few days.
These events always bring millions for local businesses.
This year has been disruptive because they had to repave and do construction. After this year, itll be a few days of disruption, just like every other street track in F1
@@KINGDUDE74 Fantastic! Haven’t heard that since the ‘90s!
@@dylanburston7453You tell that to folks visiting Vegas right now who can’t even enjoy a walk down the Strip.
I'm out there working every day, and F1 has destroyed the strip. Workers and tourists alike have been shit upon by both F1 and the city council people who agreed to this debacle. The casinos are going to lose their ass on this. F1 is like the Olympics. The city that agrees to host it ends up bankrupt with crumbling infrastructure.
It's actually very different to the Olympics, as F1 is paying most of the money to build the infastructure for the race, and the only permanenet construction they have made on the strip is resurfacing the road, which is actually a benefit for the Strip.
It’s going to bring 1 Billion+ every year… how is is crumbling the city’s economy and destroying it…..?….
YOU ARE NUTS, LOL F12 and vegas are a PERFECT match. WORKER BEES can be replaced
You are right. All of the money they put into this could have made Laguna Seca or Sonoma FIA certified. You know, purpose built race tracks. I think they just really wanted to drive around the sphere. But hey, the taxpayers of Nevada are shelling out to take Oakland's legendary professional teams. I don't think the government there cares about its residents.
go get a thearpist and tell her you have a poroblem with envie, when you can't afford to get a ticket...good luck...
The f1 would definitely prevent me from going to Vegas!
And if they leave the stands around balligio fountains up I will diffenately cancel my trip to Vegas in March.
As a 30-something year old who's been going to at least once or twice a year, i feel very conflicted about attending the grand prix this weekend. Its my first motor sport race and F1 race ever. I always think about the impacts that events like this affect the locals and the environment.
It’s always a cash grab, not only by the owners of f1 and some license holders, but also by the elite businesspeople of your own town
Most of the people who can afford these absurd tickets will just claim it as business expenses and basically not even pay for it any way and will have a nice tax relief for themselves
@@PandaHuntlmao you are absolutely right
City counsel they sold out
Devastating for most, cash grab for some , and max already locked-up the championship, so its an “exhibition race”
Lol love these channels and videos that are just pure complaining.. spend your life being positive about something you’re going to make yourself miserable
Total cash grab! The tourists are the ones that really got screwed spending all their hard earned money sitting in traffic getting pissed off and questioning if they'll ever come to Vegas again.
The tourists are the ones getting screwed LOSING ALL THEIR MONEY IN THE CASINOS .
You think those tourists didn't know they were setting up a race track.
@@gangoffour6690Casinos are for fun?
casinos are for losers!@@LarryL3g3nd
lol, shouldn't that be the official Vegas slogan, "Total Cash Grab",
HORRIBLE decision Vegas....horrible
This is one of the reasons, many residents, including myself are planning to leave.
Vegas has gotten too big, too commercialized , to dangerous over the past 5 years.
When i move away... i will never return to this place that shot itself in the foot... over greed !
My relatives want me to move with them to Vegas. I just can't do it. I love visiting but I dislike the crowded nonstop activity in that city.
Aside from the residents having to suffer from all of these difficulties in traffic, commuting hassles, (etc.), I also feel sorry for any tourists who have planned a vacation to Vegas only to have to endure all of this!! No Mirage Volcano. No easy way to see the Bellagio Fountain shows. Sidewalks narrowed to crawl spaces. Trees cut down and any chance to view the gondolas at the Venetian outdoor plaza is now gone as well. Tourists will be pretty upset if this becomes the "norm" every year!! A shame!
I've been an F1 fan since 1987, when I was seven years old, and this race is shaping up to be a total disaster
Ikr. Why can't they make a racetrack for F1 outside the city?? Plenty of desert out there to build on. Jeez.
This was announced a while back, your fault for not seeing the warning.
@@matviyk3066 tourists don't watch local vegas news in their home country.
@@chuckh4077 its only in Vegas so they can race down the strip. thats it.
People will find a way to see and record it. A fence that is blacked out? Camera on a selfie stick. Problem solved.
You bring up some valid points here buddy. The building process has been a nightmare for locals and tourists. I live it everyday. The finished product will look spectacular. After it's all said and done, I just hope it's all worth it for the city of Las Vegas and it's millions of residents who live and work in the metro area. We shall see.
I'm hopeful.
Nice work showing the construction progress here.
The construction won't happen next year, itlll just be the grandstands and walls going up and a few other things, but no months of roadworks. And with the temporary stuff, mnomone can beat F1. Prior to 2022,in Monaco practice was on a Thursday(the only race to do so), some parts were taken down and Monaco reopen on the Friday, for it all to go back into place on the saturday
@@dylanburston7453 Exactly, thanks. Far from being "hacked into two", we're seeing an unfinished construction being prematurely judged.
Should build a futuristic race track outside the city
Ikr. Makes more sense to do that.
I would be highly upset if I came to Vegas for the 1st time and had no idea this was going on
yup i was pretty disappointed. hitting Vegas again for nba tournament so i hope the construction on the strip clears up a little
I think it will reshape what the normal ebb & flow of tourism for Vegas year round. You’ll see those who love Vegas steer clear from Sept-December every year and the locals will avoid the strip for casual weekend fun as well! They may get the cash grab and influx of spending from the 1% types who are actually going to F1 cause of the high profit margins on tickets & many will come from all over the world but the die hard steady economic force of tourism for Vegas will be disrupted and F1 will leave at some point … then Vegas will have to earn the trust of those who stayed away back… It needs to be investigated who for the Vegas side of things approved and negotiated this crap & have them come out publicly and hear the outcries of those poor employees who won’t be able to get to work and get home … locals who hate this and all the many millions who will not come for months that would have!
Only a fool make travel plans without research..
Yeah being ignorant and not researching what's going on at your destination is pretty bad.
That would be me 🙈 didn’t know till recent this was going on, after I already made plans to go 🥹
Holy S**t Marc what a mess. Miss the old Vegas and the way it was. Never would have dreamed they would block casino views from tourists.
So sad to see strip in this condition. Hope they never do something stupid like this downtown
Thanks Marc.!! Last weekend my niece was visiting LV..All the pedestrian Bridges already have blinders all the way across them. No one could view any of the Casinos on The Strip!! Some guys were throwing beers on them because they were so pissed!! 🤘❤️🌮
They are ther for safety reasons. Bridges crossing permanent tracks, including COTA,mhave the same thing. Just put them up to early is all
I agree with you Marc ! FEEL there is nothing good that will come out of this F1 in vegas it's just so sad. 😢
They want to make absolute sure that nobody can see the race from an unpaid location. Money is the motivator sadly
Hi Marc, Las Vegas is so lucky to have that cool sphere. We just have an ugly boring shinny bean to look at here in Chicago. I think this whole race thing there sucks.
Marc, I was in Vegas a few weeks ago. You're right, we took a ride down the strip and thought they turned the city into a big erector set. Tried to see the sphere and was in a 45 min traffic jam cause of the construction. Couldn't get back to Downtown fast enough. You can keep the strip and that mess, If you're going to visit Vegas, Stay Downtown, Fremont St is where it's at! Thanks F1, you really know how to mess up a city!
Thanks F1? Thanks to the moron Las Vegas mayor and government
I live in Arizona and haven't been to Vegas since well before Covid. I've been getting nostalgic. So between the regular price gouging and now the destruction of the strip and side roads for F1, I can't bring myself to make the trip. I've been looking at places like Boulder Station to get out of town with instead of the strip. Right now the off strip casinos not labeled "resort" seem to be the best value. It seems even downtown is creeping up.
Sad F1 = FU F Vegas
Red Rock
I'd say Go to Laughlin instead..
You do realise only one building is permanent? Vegas hasn't been ruined at all.
@@dylanburston7453 Yes I do realize they have stated this. But how long have they been building this and how long after the race is it going to take to return to normal? What's to stop some of these temporary structures from becoming permanent?
None of this addresses the gouging of prices. I can afford the price hikes, but I hate being gouged. The strip isn't a gated park like Disneyland. The notion that all the restaurants are almost double the cost of off strip places insults my intelligence. It's gouging and therefore the strip properties lose value in my eyes.
I have made the same comments in other areas but basically what they're doing to the strip is transforming it to a super rich man's playground, which they've always wanted to do. The CEO of Caesar's said recently he does not want anybody but high rollers and whales on his properties. And I know Formula 1 has always been a rich man's race. If F1 is to be marginally successful all the private jets at the airport will be coming in in a week and all you have to do is go down and check to see how many are there. Prices on the strip have increased in many areas way beyond inflation. Free parking has gone away, New restaurants are pretty much all high-end. If you shop at Walmart more power to you but just remember the managers of these casinos will take your money but they really don't want you there. But to tell you the truth I live close to high-end resort casinos that want my business and that is where I've been spending my money lately. And remember if you're going to Vegas 5 to 6 months out of the year you will be looking at F1 construction on the strip for the next 10 years.
Fantastic coverage Marc. As a tourist of Vegas, we really hate they have done what they have. So sad they took trees down and the grandstands put up you can’t see anything. That’s not what Vegas is for. Nothing against F1 itself, but the Vegas strip is not the place for it. That’s only our opinion. Thanks for making g this video. Ohhhh, WE LOVE LETTYS. DID A VIDEO THERE A YEAR AGO. LOVED IT. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's exactly the place for it. They've built one permanent building, the rest will be gone a day or two after the race. Mabey people should do research and not go to a location on the same day as a massive international sporting event
Sad to see the city this way. Hope it all works out in the end. Stay safe Marc and Joe. Always stay BADASS!!!!
Locals have dubbed F-1, F-U. It's been and will remain a nightmare for locals, tourists and small businesses in their way.
Locals are a non issue to F1.
Great video. I can't believe they got all the casinos and business to agree to this mess. Maybe F1 should have just went with the XBOX/Playstation Vegas race. If I were a tourist I would be very disappointed walking the strip just to see grandstands being setup or torn down. Especially if its weeks b4 or after the event. Although I guess there is getting to be less and less to see on the strip. When I lived there 30 years ago u had the pirates, the fountains, the volcano, shows with actual show girls and all the craziness in between. From the videos I see now its just all craziness.
I really miss the 80s out here in LasVegas. I would love to be able to click my heels together and go back in time.
It's a MESS! Thanks for the update, Marc. 👊
Why build it right in the middle of the city? Craziness.
To race along the "strip". That's the whole and only reason for a race being held there. Anyone suggesting an alternative location but still in LV doesn't realise that!
@@mrtickleukonly vegas to allow that. 99% of other cities would never build a racetrack right thru downtown 😅
@@chuckh4077Yes indeed. Vegas is to be praised for it. And Monte Carlo, and Baku, and all the other street tracks. Everyone knows the downside is disruption. It's a trade-off, as with many things.
Man the barriers and lights, elsewhere outside from the paddock, will be removed every year.
Edit: Also, if F1 and the city were smart there should be some limited free tickets and discounts for locals.
If F1 was not there, I would have been in Vegas in 3 weeks. I just don’t want to deal with all the aftermath of the Grand Prix. I am an F1 fan, and this race will be amazing to watch. But, it ruins Vegas for 3 months out of the year. Every year.
This is a nightmare! I was there the week of October 16th, and they had just started doing this, the first thing they blocked was the Bellagio fountains! They don’t care about anything but making their money! Who thought it was a good idea to screw up the whole strip for months all for 1 race?! I love how they’re saying they are doing it at night so the strip is lit up, but they blocked views from everywhere, the “iconic strip view” doesn’t exist with this crap! I hope it fails and I want locals to strike! This is disrupting everything! What a nightmare!
The greed in Vegas has keep me out . Who in the hell would pay 100 to park?
Wow, what a mess. Thanks for posting this Marc. We were going to take a drive down that way, but I've seen all I need to see. Will you be recording the race live?
Marc, this Video was a Real Eye-opener !!....I'm an F1 Fan...So , I Apologize to All the Vegas Locals that had to put up with All this BS !!!....It's like the Top 1 % , wanted to have a weekend of Fun in Las Vegas, and didn't care who they....Sh..t On !.....Thank you for this Terrific and Truthful Video......Take care....
Crappy track, not a challenge for the drivers at all, i can see them changing the layout .
Just curious ..what was your Branch and MOS ?@@Military872
Thank you for taking the time to cover this for us. It was informative and entertaining. Love the music, too!
I agree with you. Joyce and I couldn't go to the center strip way too congested. That turn by the sphere looks super tight, almost as if all the cars will flip over. I'm upset I missed the volcano for the last time. I'm going to Letty's next time I passed it twice. I remember when Joe went years ago, but I still didn't go lol. RW sent me a F1 package for 20,000
Great review Marc!!! The Strip looks in array with all those metal grand stands. And the prices??? Wow! Man that food looked great!!! You Rock Sir!!
Marc this video is fantastic! I don’t even recognize the strip anymore 😔😔 I can’t believe what you showed us thank you so much. Wow I hope it all goes back to its original beauty! Sad to see this. Very interesting 🤨 to say the least.
This will probably be good news for Fremont Street.
Thank God we went with a dedicated track here in Austin and avoided this abomination. The reality of a street course is far different from the romanticized vision of "Just picture sleek race cars flying down the iconic Strip!" And it'll be well into January before things settle into the new 'normal', whatever that ends up being.
your lack of intelligence is only exceeded by your raging green goblin of invie...
Austin is not quite Las Vegas. The reason of Las vegas race is Las Vegas being Las Vegas. Like Monaco being Monaco is the reason of Monaco race.
LMAO, what a ignorant comment. Austin would have never been a street course.
They could reopen Monaco in less than 24hours as they used to have a day between practice and quali. The only thing that won't settle down are the idiots who move to Vegas and expect a normal life
And your track has no visual appeal at all. It's just blah.
Marc. As a out of towner. Since being here I see the destruction of the strip and major disruption for local residents. Very sad!!Shows just how money hungry casino owners are over providing the world class image of what Vegas has provided all the past years.
The USA wants some of the money spent on oil back.
If I had booked a room at the belagio I would be absolutely fuming not having the full fountain experience, imagine you had the front room paid nearly 10k for a room and that’s what you look at! Urghh… vegas build a stadium ffs!!
19:24 Joe's shirt keeps starring at me👀 Awesome video MarcI think we all can't wait for this mess to be over. How long will it take to come down w all this? I heard mid December.
So what I get from this video is if you’re not into the F1 event don’t go to Vegas during this time, obviously the prices for hotels, food bars, and what not will be astronomical. Personally, I go to Vegas twice a year to experience VEGAS sightseeing, shows, new restaurants etc. But if you are a millionaire, of course, be there because obviously Vegas is catering to you $$❤
We were there in August when the construction first started. We’ll have a decent reference point to see the difference. Now it really just seems like a corporate cash grab.
Las Vegas journal reported that there's been a 83 precent drop in room rates due to the fact that there hasn't been as big of interest in the F1 as they anticipated.
As a die hard F1 fan and a lover of Vegas, we never asked for this!
It appealed to me as someone who does not follow F1, but those ticket prices?! Hell No, I'll pass. Also it looks like a disaster as well, but I am sure the footage will be cool. I really hope Formula 1 fails in Las Vegas, tourists and locals do not want or need F1
I would have totally bought tickets if the prices weren’t so outrageously high!! Seriously it’s absolutely ridiculous!
I just don't get why people find it fun to watch cars go in circles. 😅
@@chuckh4077and what do find more interesting supreme being?
Damn....that view from the Bellagio that's crazy....I wonder how long it took to build that particular grandstand ....and how long to take it apart...great video Godfather🙌🙌🙌
I heard they won't take it apart. 😅 wthh??
Good video Marc, The best one I've seen showing close up on a lot of the construction. You saved me a trip going down there myself and seeing this Circle Jerk on the strip.
You are too awesome, John, and a great friend. Thank you.
To me,the Vegas strip is that vacation spot that you fly into, and plan on walking for the most part.If you are healthy enough to do a lot of strip walking, that's the best way to get around, with an occasional bus route or possibly an Uber.
A majority of the people are not healthy enough. This video is an example
Good Morning Marc , Just the title alone on your thumbnail. Is all that I needed know . Your opinion matters and is always spot on with anything related to Las Vegas . Your intro and the first minute was cool , and your video was awesome 👏
They could've reunited Zeppelin for a 30 day residency at the sphere and made as much as F1 money.
I still dont understand why they didnt get no other support categories for racing in this event
It worries me when I still see shells for some of those suites & stands. I know construction moves fast, but that reminds me ALOT like Superbowl 45. They were still trying to add seating to At&t stadium literally hours before kickoff of the Packers vs Steelers game & alot of fans had to shuffle around or were denied entry. This is going to be a disaster of a race. Keep them away from Road America up here in Wisconsin as I could only imagine F1 wanting all of the trees cut down & what not. F1 should take a page from Indycar for street courses & keep things simple!
This may turn into f1’s Fyre Festival
Next year isn't even guaranteed YET. And I think it is only for 3 years. They are talking about 10 but with the pushback IDK if that comes close to happening...
i dont even think the f1 drivers will enjoy driving another street circuit and the fact that it will probably be the coldest f1 race
I AM SOOOOO HAPPY THAT I DON'T COME TO VEGAS UNTIL SPRING. IT REALLY LOOKS A HOTTTT MESS OUT THERE. THANKS FOR SHARING MARC👍🏼😁
Seems like a lot going on! Thank you for the stream
Even though I no longer live in Vegas, after living there for well over 20 years, Vegas will always be home to me. It seems like every single person from Vegas I have either talked to, or have seen on RUclips, agrees with you. By the way, if you thought not being able to see the fountain show at the Bellagio was a bummer, in order for the Bellagio to erect those grandstands, they had to also cut down all of the trees that were growing along the strip on that block. Those trees provided the ONLY shade around in the summertime. Have fun standing in 115 degrees while watching your next Bellagio fountain show! 🥵
The trees are going to be replaced immediately after the grandstands are dismantled. Each one of the changes the misguided people are complaining about is TEMPORARY. The ones they aren't complaining about, are permanent (no more ugly overhead cables, re-surfaced roads) and will benefit everyone.
@@mrtickleuk Cutting down all of the trees every year, just to replant them again sounds like just something else nobody thought of beforehand, and now Vegas is stuck dealing with it on a PERMANENT basis. About the time they get those grandstands taken down and have the trees replanted, and all of the other infrastructure taken down, it will be time to start all over again. Yep, that sounds mightily PERMANENT for a plan that was never thought out.
@@mrtickleukThe trees were from the Dunes golf course. They were historic. ... And there is a very small portion of the Strip that was resurfaced. Big deal. That part of the Strip is just Ubers, Taxis, Limos, and sightseers. Nobody gives a crap if it's smoother. 🤦♂️🤡
Most of that stuff will be torn down after the race. They don't leave Monaco looking like a race track year round either
I love racing but racecars belong on race tracks. This is ridiculous and if I had to bet I would say ticket sales will not be good and this never happens again.
You guys talked about Vegas like it's a national park lmao. It's a city created in desert for entertainment and money, of course it'll always go for more entertainment and more money.
Thank you all you give us - it’s a mess! You rock Marc ✨🤘✨💛
Vegas won’t recover from what it was after this.
THIS WAS A GREAT REAL-TIME VIDEO OF THE TRACK. I’M ACTUALLY SUPER EXCITED TO SEE THE F1 IN LAS VEGAS. IF I WORKED OR LIVED NEAR THE STRIP, I WOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION FOR SURE. SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THE SET UP, IT TOOK WAY LONGER. NEXT YEAR, IT SHOULD BE BETTER BUT STILL A HUGE TASK. I BELIEVE F1 HAS A 3 YEAR CONTRACT WITH LAS VEGAS, NOT 10 YEARS. I WILL FOR SURE BE WATCHING ON TV @ 10PM THURSDAY NIGHT ALONG WITH MOST OF THE EUROPEANS. WE WILL SEE WHAT THE BOTTOM LINE IS FOR THE HOTELS AND CITY WHEN THE DUST SETTLES. KEEP SAFE OUT THERE MARC……
it is 3 years with an option to extend to 10
Seeing the strip now reminds me of New York, that is the New York seen in John Carpenter's Escape From New York.
Appreciate the video and the work that went into it, Marc. 😊 Besides agreeing that this is a complete eyesore that isn't fair to locals nor the average tourist, I just can't get into F-1. It didn't go over well in Indy at the 500 track for long. I couldn't see doing all of this for Indy car either. In my opinion, the money would have been better spent on redoing or rebuilding a permanent racetrack in Vegas so there wouldn't be all this disruption with putting up a tearing down for years to come. The brains behind this need a checkup. ❤
It's private money and it would help develop the infrastructure, but you folks are whingeing about an ongoing development project this smacks of sheer ignorance, look at Melbourne Australia and Monaco to name a few they do this every year routinely wait before casting judgment...
F1 was a debacle at IMS. Every year they requested on numerous occasions for IMS to "remove the yard of bricks" or sandblast them to track level, as it upset the balance of their cars for that tenth of a second. I was happy every time IMS told them to go eff themselves on that recommendation. Let's not even get into the confusing politics F1 has. IndyCar (Champcar to be exact) raced downtown in the early 2000s and there wasnt much to it grandstand wise or anything when you watch the videos. Plus you could SEE the race from the fences as well. Vegas & Indycar didnt and wouldnt need to do as much as all of this even if they did it on the strip. Let alone it would be a tenth of what was spent / construction costs, etc compared to F1 & would be a much better show!
Given this will be the state of the strip every fall for who knows how long, I think this time of year will be a no-go for me for the foreseeable future. Too bad because September-October was always a great time to visit.
It will only be a couple of days like this in the future,as they won't have to build the garages or do a repave. Prior to 2022, Monaco would close on Thursday for practice, open back up on Friday and then close on Saturday again
I don't know. Those grandstands in front of Bellagio don't seem like a 'couple of days' construction. I'm also guessing a repave will be in the cards a year from now. I hope you're right though.@@dylanburston7453
All of this is par for the course in a street race. Grandstand usually aren’t built until the day before. The track opens to fans. Scaffolding is what they used to build it. All very standard operations.
That sphere is unreal! So beautiful! Love it!
Thanks, Marc for the F1 update 👍
This is the best video I've seen about the race and what it has done to the strip in vagas! Just another reason to stay downtown.
Will this be permanent? Meaning will the strip be open to drive through like before after this race is over?
The track has grown on me over time, especially after seeing lecerc's battle with the red bulls.
What a mess😮Hope the Culinary Union goes on strike Friday and screws everything for F 1!
They would never even notice.
Nope . They reached a deal with all the casinos.
Seems like everything was built quick, hopefully safety standards being followed.
Looks awesome. I think this is mainly because it's the first year. the following years, won't be as bad. All the street courses had to go through this. Grandstands are temporary so they will be scaffolding. Can't believe the race is at 10pm Vegas Time. Good thing it's the City that never sleeps.
This may not be your regular style but you knocked it out of the park! This maybe the one to go viral!
Thank you for covering f1 and giving us the insight of the destruction taking place to the beautiful vegas strip. I'll have to agree with you on the shit-show!! Vegas is not my city but does have a big piece of my heart. This is very hard to see😢
What destruction? They've built one building and repaved a few roads. The barriers, th grandstands and all that are temporary
@@dylanburston7453Indeed, and two very expensive (F1 paid) temporary bridges carrying traffic! They've bent over backwards to minimise the disruption, but there is always a minimum to everything. It has to be done somehow.
Future years should go smoother if they happen. I would think the race could have happened up north incorporating LVMS and the roads around it for much, much less money and chaos. With everything blocked bystanders from viewing the race, it won't be cool for television audience having it in LV.
The sphere is the same shape as the locals😂
This kind of feels like what I think Ridge City from the Ridge Racer games would be like. It'd be awesome but the human toll is pretty staggering and gross. Thanks for the video
Your video was very insightful and informative. Thank you for taking the time to make your way through the nightmare of F1 in Las Vegas. As a local, I am extremely upset how our city has been destroyed for this f’ing race! I’m hoping this disaster NEVER comes back! Originally, we were told FI was paying for everything. Recently, I heard they went back to the city council asking for 40 million! Will that be 40 million of tax money?? If so….I have a problem with being lied to by FI and the City Council. What a huge F-Up! 😡🤬🤯
Why should F1 pay for everything when the benefit is for the local economy too? Or rather shut down Vegas to everyone except you locals, while you at it, you dont need an airport, or hotels. You don't need the world there, so get rid of the things that attract people to Vegas
Vegas F1 is a failure, I was originally quoted around $4k for a room during F1. Now with a week to go it’s complimentary and includes $650 freeplay and $250 resort credit.
Wow thanks for sharing. What a mess. My son is going down first week in Dec and I am first week of Feb. wonder if all the stands will be down and back to normal🤷♀️
MARC F1🏎🏎 RACING IS SOO BIG AND BACKED BY POWERFUL PEOPLE'S IAM SURE THEY ARE FEELING THE CHALLENGES TO YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST RUclips'S THAT GO LIVE AND ARE THE GREATEST STRAIGHT UP PROFESSIONAL CONTENT CREATOR.THANKS FOR THE F1 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE S💯👍🏎🏎🏎 PROUD OF YOU💯👍
We have the long beach grand prix 🏎️ here it is less intrusive than the vegas F1 track they actually offered an F1 race here as the lbgp is Indy car and IMSA cars but long beach said no to F1 as it would have required the city to change infrastructure and waste hundreds of millions of dollars.
Yeah its loud and busy. But a traditional event at long Beach for "decades".
A couple of years ago I seriously considered buying a condo at the Marie Antoinette condos on Harmon/Koval. Looking at your video it looks like the high-floor units facing Harmon have some of the best views of the course.
"I look at F1 as more of a cash grab than anything else". But, isn't that the essence of Vegas?
I agree it's NOT The Strip till they remove all that mess.
Im annoyed that the got rid of the volcano.
@@Jesus.X And the grandstands are blocking Blvd. view of The Fountains
@@stevedyoutube Maybe the solution then is invisible grandstands.
@@mrtickleuk Solution is no F1.
Thanks for really showing us the F1 impact on Las Vegas. I don't think it is good either, but money talks. It has to be very disappointing for locals to have to see all this wreckage that is being done to such a wonderful city.
it's an entertainment town - they're building more entertainment.
Goes to show how greed affects us! How much more messy can it get? What a freak show!
Must be so hard having to live in a city that’s always trying to entertain you with new attractions and events. Thought and prayers….
Yup, really sad and disappointing to see everything like this. I hope it fails and it's done within 3 yrs.
Good video Marc.
I think we should see this year's Las Vegas Grand Prix as a test of what can be done better in 2024. There are so many mistakes in this year's Grand Prix...
The casinos' greed and belief that they can sell rooms for between 3~5 times what rooms normally cost in November. If they had been more realistic, there would also be more people from Europe etc. who would go to Las Vegas. In addition, the well-known casinos such as Bellagio, Venetian, Hard Rock choose to destroy what characterizes The Strip.
There has been so much negativity about F1 & Las Vegas, due to poor planning, poor communication, and far too much greed. Which has gone beyond locals & tourists, So I very much hope that there will be changes in relation to Las Vegas 2024
I very much hope Bellagio keeps its word to remove the grandstands and plant trees again.
Letty's are so good, love it
Oh no, my tourism based economy is bringing more tourism based money to the tourist city in which I choose to live in.
The LVCVA should be disbanded and jailed for allowing this. The Las Vegas Mayor and Nevada's governor should be forced to live amongst the disaster (homeless encampments) they helped create. F-1 does not care about what they destroy; the city, the disruption of public transportation many locals rely on to get to-and-from work, the routes the emergency vehicles may have to take, the blocking of the view of the strip by putting big sheets of contact paper on the pedestrian bridges (people will just tear them down), blocking the bridges will just make it dangerous to cross the Vegas streets. What about the pedestrian traffic so close to the race route and THE TIME these events are being held (late at night). What about the small businesses along this route being blocked from the foot traffic? They're already losing business because of F-1. The freeway exits to the race route roads being blocked and people being caught unaware that are driving to Las Vegas who will get confused and maybe CRASH into the barriers or try and drive around them. These roads were not meant to be traveled at 100+ MPH. My workplace is right on the route where one of the turns are! When one of these race cars wipes out, it may take two or three more with it and possibly into the store fronts that are RIGHT THERE on the roadway! This is too dangerous. Stay tuned.
If they don't make a profit in the next year, they will cancel the contract, everything will be torn down. Just have to bear it and see what happens. They will make adjustments. The track was supposed to market the Vegas landmarks not block them. You can see it better on TV with higher viewing angles but it looks terrible from street view.
Did anyone see the F1 Executives apology to the locals? I would love to say that it was very sincere and covered most all of the complaints we all have. I would much rather write that they decided to offer any unsold seats to local F1 fans free of cost, or even at a deep discount or at least a free year of F1TV. My guess is someone much higher than him had the brilliant idea to apologize to the locals, and then promote the event to them in a last ditch effort to sell tickets. It was obvious he was uncomfortable and did not plan out what he was going to say. The interview was edited, however Fox did not leave out where he put blame on casinos for the high price tag. LAME!!!
It's going to be a great race, and I think that in the coming years, it'll end up being a lot more refined.
