    Well my car had a problem with the thin wires in the relay connector. The metal wire in the insulators had corroded out of existence because of water wicking into the wire insulator. When the wire was touched the conductors broke inside the wire. Replacing about 5 inches of wires on both pink and brown fixed the fan no go situation. The rest was the exhaust check valve stuck problem.

    Good information on the fuses, ie switching the high beam, for the average guy at home trying to go through the process of elimination and does not have scanners to turn pumps on/off etc, lucky to have a code reader and clear code

    This guy is misleading. First, as someone else mentioned, the air flow is from the air intake hose to the check valve. The correct test is to disconnect the air hose going into the check valve when the engine is stone cold (the system only works for 30-60 seconds). While you do that also disconnect the electrical connector to the check valve, test it for voltage (should be around 14v, the voltage from the alternator when running). Turn on the engine and feel if air is blowing out the air hose, then connect the electrical connector and listen if the check valve solenoid clicks, meaning it is opening (after 30-60 seconds it should click again to close because the power to it goes off). If no air blows, the pump is not working, problem is either the pump or the relay next to the pump electrical connector.
    In my 2004 Envoy the check valve didn't work, it was stuck open. The pump also failed to go on, it could have been ruined by the exhaust backing up from the open check valve. Both parts need replacement. The whole secondary air injection system is stupid, because it is only there to heat up the catalytic converter a minute sooner. Some cars don't even have it, but if you have it and it doesn't work, you can't pass emissions.

    my 2001 chevy s10 with the 4.3L has the P 0410 code only , it has low miles too , only 90,000 .

    Hi there! I was taking the rear hose off, and while moving a bit out of the way to remove the nuts, I heard a small crack and saw that the hose had snapped off. Any suggestions? Thank you! I have a 2007 Blazer.

    You do not have to diagnose that code with a cold engine,all you need is a scan tool that can command the components off and on

    I have the same problem with my 04 trailblazer. I bought a new smog (air) pump and it works. I clear the code and it came back on. Now I checked all everything and it's all good I may do the wd40. But when the pump is on I put my hand down and I can fill air. Is that the pump just working or is that a line not connected very well and it's why I'm filling the air circulating

      And my valve should I pull the hoes off and make sure it's not stuck. As in will I fill the air push out if so?

      Its a tricky problem, the wd40 helped for a few weeks, but the light eventually came back on.

      My check air valve was completely stuck. So I bought a new one and put on. So far so good

      The code identifies a problem in the circuit, not necessarily a bad part.

      Yes. Disconnect the power from the check valve, it will remain closed, but you may not be able to pass emissions if you get a P410 or P300 code.

    You are wrong. The air is pumbing to the cathelitic converter not in the intake

    I think you should delete this video. It's misleading and I'll informed content. Nobody should spray wd or anything that will get to the catalytic converters and do damage. Then your really into the wallet. The fresh air goes into the upstream part of the exhaust at the manifold . Not into the intake manifold. The air filter I take does that. Lol
