  • I used 8 rolls of 100grams yarn because I doubled my yarn. But if you are not going to double your yarn then I would recommend a round 5 rolls of 100gm and a 4.5 mm hook. It’s acrylic yarn because it easily stretches,
    This piece is a size small and so I recommend you add extras on my measurements, extra 5mm(15cm) for medium and 15mm-20mm(45cm) for plus size.
    Note that the stretch in yarn types differ. Acrylic stretches more than cotton.
    Please guys takes measurements before starting on this piece. I worked on a size small.
    I hope this tutorial helps

    I know that making things on video and explaining is so hard to do because when you know how to do something it’s hard not to miss a step for someone who doesn’t know. I make crochet dolls and blankets scarves never a sweater - I am ready to try using this as my first. When you crochet for a while you understand a lot of the things unsaid. The size of the yarn and hook WILL affect the size o the sweat- now you need to figure out where you want to increase to make a bigger sweater. I’m going to try this in the same size she’s doing it looks like she’s combining 2 size 2 yarns imma use 4/5 and see what it makes. Then I will know for my next one how much bigger or smaller I need to make it!

    • @diywithghcrochets
      @diywithghcrochets  Год назад +6

      Thank you so much for that. I tell it to people a lot of time, not in this video but other videos after seeing how things were turning out. Hook size, yarn size, yarn type… stretchy or not stretchy, and someone’s tension while crocheting affect the outcome. So I always tell them to measure themselves. Besides bust sizes are different too. I’m open to personal explaining to people Incase I have time

    • @delanisamuela4067

      So, with me being a size L, using a size 6 yarn and an 8mm hook, I would just have to follow the pattern for size small as is?

    • @diywithghcrochets
      @diywithghcrochets  9 месяцев назад

      Most important take your bust measurements. Then make sure each piece fits front and back according to your measurements

    (editing timestamps as I go)
    she starts by making the front/back panel.
    10:41 starts one sleeve
    16:13 clean up the edges of the front/back panel
    18:55 ribbing for the cuffs
    21:05 attaching the arms
    27:21 attaching the cuffs
    30:12 starting on neck piece
    32:30 attaching the turtle neck

    What I would suggest for larger sizes, is to put the chain starting from your underarm and increase or decrease according to where you want the sweater without the ribbing to end. Do the same for the sleeves. You can also measure and use those measurements on your chain with or without stretching it. I would also check when doing the increases by putting the lower part of the angle under your armpit and checking the top of the angle, or raglan fits at the shoulder. For the front and back, either measure or put on your chest and increase rows as needed.

    First off: this sweater looks amazing :) such a wonderful piece.!
    Now i want to crochet it for myself.
    But i can't even start because i don't know what to measure exactly for the bust piece because i am not a size small.
    Could you explain the measuring points to me since i definitely won't have the same numbers of rows as you have.
    For example.... in the beginning you did 25 chains. Where did you start measuring? At what point should i stop doing the increases? I'm yet not that experienced in corcheting to know what to do, right off the bat.
    I'd be so great if you could explain in the videos what measurments needs to be taken and where. So that yarn size, type etc doesn't play that much of a role in the end.
    Don't get me wrong, i don't want to offend you or anything but i am very lost right now.

    Hello!
    I need advice/help 🥺
    I just finished the sweater and I love it! Thank you so much for your tutorial which was easy to follow as a beginner 💕
    However, when I tried it on, it fits perfectly except for the underharm which is way to tight (i can put it on, but it is not very flattering nor comfortable) 😭 i was wondering if you had any idea how to fix this (easily)? Thank you so much in advance ✨✨💕

    How long is the foundation chain in cm/in?? I read the sizing instructions in the description but I'm still confused. Do we add 15 mm of stitches or 45 cm of stitches?? Or is there a point on the body where we should measure??

    • @josy_07

      I think 45cm is better bec when you have 1,5 cm is not That much just Look

    But I was wonder what weight this yarn is, and how many stitches extra the medium size would be?

      This is worsted yarn but I doubled it. Check my descriptions for details

    Could you please tell me how i´m exactly supposed to increase the stitches if i´m a size M. There is no explanation in the description and the 15cm you´re talking about are so confusing. Where am i supposed to add the 15 cm? At the base? Everywhere? Thank you in advance!

    Are those two strands of different #3 yarn, 9r two strands of sports yarn #2? We don’t have Robin yarn here, so I’m not sure what thickness you are using. The ply would help if you dont have the weight. Thanks!,

    I followed up all the instructions and was crocheting the s (same size as the video) but it turns out to be so tiny and small and I’m so exasperated right now. I didn’t knew how it’s going to be turned. Should’ve increased the size. POV:increase the size of you want to be a bigger size

    • @diywithghcrochets
      @diywithghcrochets  Год назад

      I'm so sorry to hear that. I did the video long time and didn't involve a lot of instructions. The size of hook and yarn matters too. And my tutorial was for an extra small.

    Can I do only one strand of yarn instead of doubling it? Will it turn out the same look?

    • @diywithghcrochets
      @diywithghcrochets  2 года назад

      Yes you can but I would suggest you use worsted weight or chucky but worsted as first priority. And your measurements will change. You will increase in row numbers of each piece
