I know this is old video but this guy is a genius spent 12 hrs going through everything on my cub cadet found this and 20 mins later I was mowing thanks man!!!!
My Troy Mustang zero turn quit right in the middle of mowing the field. Felt sure the PTO overheated and failed but thanks to your video I FOUND THE REVERSE SWITCH BAD FOR NO reason. I put a jumper in the switch's plug till I have time to repair it, if ever. Saved messsing with the pto clutch. Thank you for taking the time to make such a useful videoi.
That's pretty ingenious cuz that's the biggest problem with the Cub Cadet that shaft drive is one hell of a mower but all all safety switches and all that stuff man I mean I've had him just literally quit running because of safety switch issue and that is very good to know good information thank you
Good video, I have several cub cadets that I have put toggle switches on the PTO. But those Toggle switches don't seem to last very long before they burn up and stop working. I ended up using the original switch and just used 2 different different prongs and haven't had a problem since. ( I was using 20amp and 30amp switchs.) Also the switches where not water resistant and out of all the toggles I used I believe at least one feel victim to rust. I also hooked the toggle up to both the positive side and the negative sides to see if that was the problem. But it didn't matter it still went through toggles. This also could have been a isolated incident. Who knows
That wiring nightmare needs to be completely removed and the whole thing rewired without that mess, that's ridiculous, and a bunch of failure parts waiting to happen. Never had an issue with the electric PTO in my old GT6000 in the 21 years it was operational...seems those new systems are just pure garbage...glad my current lawn tractor has a manual cable engaged mower deck. My tractor however, has a hydraulic clutch that engages the PTO for mid and rear engagements, I simply throw a lever, nice thing is being hydraulic clutch engagement, its an easy engagement, not a sudden shock load, which makes it better for slip clutches and shear pins. My tractor has a 60" mid mount mower, thing sounds like a jet airplane when its running, but it does an extremely good job at mowing, figured that big of a mower deck it would really cause scalping issues, because my 42" mower on my lawn tractor does in certain areas. With gas hitting $5/gal in my area this morning, the Dewalt battery powered push mower is looking like a much better solution, rather quickly...and sooner than later I think I will re-landscape my property into a much smaller yard to take care of LOL.
Thanks! I did have a bad PTO clutch coil; so I replaced it and did as you suggested on the new PTO switch I had replaced, I removed it & wired in a toggle switch & bypassed all of the junk wiring If it fails in the future, I will do as you have done, rip it out & eliminate all the janky stuff
Ha ha I tore out all those wires and used 2 toggles and a push button for starter like 4 wires .. no fuse no stupid safety switches , if I buy a new mower I'll do again day 1
Have a cub 2000 series, clicks at the relay but don't even try to engage the starter. Any idea? I have 2 kids as well as bad health and 5 broke ribs...ribs courtesy of the wife's car falling on my chest with me under it....long story short her car is Christine from the movie reborn. Any knowledge would be great as health and kids are keeping me from being able to diagnose it myself and need it fixed asap once my ribs let me move better. Ignition switch is brand new and was also part of the prob battery is showing 12.9v so Im pretty sure that's not the problem. Also where is the solenoid location on the 2000 series?
This was very informative. Thank you! I have this exact mower. In the battery compartment, at the bottom, there are 2 separate gray push buttons. Do you know what precisely these 2 buttons do?
hey man, I could really use your help. I have a craftsman LT2000 and the mower deck belt slips off shortly after I engage the mower blade. Why is this? I tried changing the belt, no resolve. Today I tried installing two new pullies as well as another new belt. The new pullies wont spin freely like the old ones when they are tightened down. Seems like my problems are mounting up. Could you share some of your wisdom and point me in the right direction?
I unplugged thebplug, clipped the yellow wire, and ran the 2 orange wires together. The mower runs, but it still cuts off when i let off the brake pedal. I tried putting the seat wires together, but it still cuts off when i let off the brake all the way. Do you have any idea what that is, or how to bypass it?
I have the Cub Cadet 2135 (2000 Series) Mower I am having issues with the PTO shutting off during a mowing. If I let it cool off, it may re-start. The clutch is a two year old Ox Clutch, looks good, no noise. I bypassed the 'New' PTO switch because it didn't fix the issue. I used the toggle switch method.. blue to ground, red to toggle, then to battery. PTO will come on but will shut down,, after 10 minutes, the red wire on the wiring Harness plug on the clutch also melted & lost power after the third attempt (yes I had replaced the blown 25 amp with a 35 amp fuse) What should the ohm reading on this magnet coil be?
Well you’re not disconnecting the alternator. You’re just hot wiring the clutch with this method. So no need to worry about that. All that still functions
Dude, I have a 1440 that has Indak toggle style switch. The switch finally took a poop. It would be awesome if you could explain that to me. I just need to know which wire is which.
I have the exact same mower same. color wiring harness everything the same. I have followed the instructions to hotwire the PTO switch. When I turn on my toggle switch it still does not engage the blades (it tries) and shuts down the engine. I cannot figure out what I have missed.
😆 all good idea unless your still under warranty, bad idea then because warranty becomes void. So ... that in mind 👌 only do this when warranty has run out.😉👍
Got a cub cadet 1554 and pto stopped working.. Clutch is showing grounded (reads like 0.02 ohms) so borrowed another off someone.. Only plugged the one i borrowed in to see if it would engage but won't.. The borrowed one reads 2.8 ohms.. Still won't engage.. Did put a new pto switch on it.. I'm lost now on next thing to do..
at 2:25 you say connect to this red wire at front of engine. Are you saying splice into red wire or cut, connect to one end? Then you say ground the green wire...it looks like a blue wire..confused..
Having a 2007 SCUB CADET WITH WIRING/STEERING/FRONT WHEELS WITH NO BEARINGS/DECK BOLTS BETWEEN PLATES THAT COLLECT SLUDG/OIL LEAKED FOR YEARS+++ this was very helpful since it was FREE on the side of the road👍😱😱27 hp. Koehler is a Great motor! the rest of it has been a POS ENGENDERED IN THE DARK! so THANKS Trying to get wiring or anything SCUB CADET CHARGE'S TO TELL U OIL LIGHT ON add oil THAT'S ALL THEY WANT U TO KNOW! anything else hunt on u tube and any parts from them? oh CHINESE 💩💩
Agreed at that point it becomes a will not sell. This is the 4th one in 2 years to be like this. Figured with those numbers I am not the only one that just needs to mow my lawn.

Something you should also do, if you do a full bypass you should put a fuse in line.

Great video. Worked like a charm. My mower is running better than ever now!
This was the most helpful video I’ve seen! And it’s the exact model I’ve been struggling with
im having this problem and i followed the video and still have the problem
Thanks, that was great info. more bypass videos please.👍
Worked Perfect! Thank You
You sir are a genius!
Great video as usual. Now, if you could only come up with a way to bypass all of this pollen!
Agreed!!!
Great video.
OMG. Thank you so VERY much. Now a subscriber.
10:17am -my 2021 XT1 50” 20 amp fuse blows when I engage the pto for the blades & shuts the tractor off. The tractor only has 65 hours on it.

Check out my Craftsman deck rebuild video it has tons of tips and tricks in it.
thanks Bro - i sure needed this info - have the same mower

2-4. Mine reads 3.3
With everything bypassed how do you hook the stator up so it back charges the battery?

Stuck deck pulley or spindle.
Hello, where the heck is the safety switch for the brake pedal?
What about a Murray riding mower would it be the same yellow wire on that brand of mower
😆 all good idea unless your still under warranty, bad idea then because warranty becomes void. So ... that in mind 👌 only do this when warranty has run out.😉👍
True, but mine is 27 years old. Same Hydo & same engine, but on it's 4th fuel pump-
Worked for me! Thanks!!
What gauge wire did you use please.
@@markheineman7757 I’m pretty sure I used 14 gage wire.
Gauge!

Find that little black relay he showed in the video and tap on it. Sometimes they get stuck. Fixed mine...for now.
Thank You and I will tell others how to but shop will not do it
Toes cost money to

You can cut it and connect to the end you cut. Then connect the other wire (it’s blue) to ground. Done.
Great,,Thank You so much.
Thanks!
Thank ypu for ypur help
any one know why a kohler v-tiwn 25hp in a gt5000 craftsman would bog down when turning on the pto switch like dying bog down
Probably just running on one cylinder
@@terrymassey7619 thank you but it ate a seal and died :-(

Sadly, that "SAFTEY BYPASS" is what we call a LIABILITY...

Yes Sir and no way in hell will I do it. Don’t mind telling them how to temp bypass it with outside wire and toggle switch
Almost.... all of your kill sw except the seat
Just put something between the contacts or cut the wires.
