      YES!!!! My husband had left a candle going overnight & then he went to work without blowing it out…. The candle had been sitting on a glass vanity. Well the glass vanity busted, causing the candle to fall thru and shatter into pieces. Very close to an all out fire happening. (I was asleep when all this happened but I heard the glass breaking, luckily)

    Hi Evan and Katelyn! Wow! We are flattered that you chose Foton Pearled Candles to highlight and demonstrate! Thank you so much for taking the time to review our product! We would love to take a second to clarify a few things for you all and the viewers.
    1. Good news, we are not drop shippers! :) We are proudly made in the USA, a family owned business in Fort Smith, Arkansas where we produce all our products in-house! While there are other alternatives out there, we stand behind our product (and the price) knowing that we offer the highest quality ingredients. Our pearls are made from highly purified, plant-based wax (no paraffin, phthalates or parabens), non-toxic, clean burning, readily biodegradable and compostable as well as kid/pet safe. We believe in the statement, “you get what you pay for”, and aim to provide high-quality, nontoxic candles to our consumers.
    2. We do want to make it clear that we did not invent this type of candle nor claim to have! Many of us remember the sand candles from the 90s (which are simple paraffin beads), and we saw it as a way to potentially refill old candle jars to create a more sustainable way to enjoy candles. We improved on the composition and packaging, creating a plant-based version that’s nontoxic and has a longer burn time with consistent flames, and called our new and improved version, Pearled Candles. Our pearls actually burn longer than traditional candles with our 18 oz candle providing up to 120 hours of burn time! We also taught the world how pearled candles can be used to refill old candle jars, can be refreshed to look brand new every time you use it, and how they’re safer by self-extinguishing when knocked over or accidentally left burning. Love seeing you experience the safety aspect first-hand!
    3. In regards to safety instructions, with the floating candles, we do recommend a minimum layer of 2 inches of pearls to keep the wick from reaching the water. The 1” of space should be between the bottom of the wick and the container you use. This way the wick will self-extinguish by just falling over before the heat reaches the container for safety.
    Again, we are so thankful you took the time out to do such an in-depth review of our products and glad you enjoyed using your imagination with Foton!

      From a professional candle maker, your product looks amazing and the only reason the second option is cheaper is because it's paraffin wax, your definitely are priced appropriately for what you sell. Paraffin is incredibly toxic, especially for small pets like cats, I do NOT recommend using it, and honestly don't know how it's even legal. For those who don't know paraffin wax is made of crude oil, the same stuff that makes plastic and gasoline. When you burn paraffin wax it releases harmful chemicals (ex. carcinogenic benzene and toluene) that have been linked to causing lung cancer and asthma.

    Orbeez were originally designed with agriculture in mind. The idea is that you put them into the soil of a region that doesn’t frequently get rainfall. When it does rain, they swell up, and then they slowly release the water back out into the soil.
    You can use them in house plants too.

    • @DreadKyller
      @DreadKyller 8 месяцев назад +63

      Yes because the Orbeez will totally burn with the water around them. The Orbeez would need to almost fully dehydrate before they could actually start burning, and by that point it'd be really difficult to keep the candle going if it was at the water level. The candle would stop burning far before the Orbeez likely even get warm.

As per their website. I didn't see any certifications or anything that could prove the veracity of these claims.. but at face-value: not drop-shipped.

    Apparently to make granulated wax you just spray melted paraffin wax into a container, probably using something like a paint gun the wax cools and it makes the beads. It doesn't seem that hard to make, you'd just need a nozzle that won't clog with the solidified wax. Fun video guys.

    • @BJCMXY
      @BJCMXY 7 месяцев назад +2

      Perhaps a modification of a 3D printer nozzle would help prevent clogging, and a variation on the water based conveyors that are used for fruits and vegetables, that way you just leave the sprayer in place, and collect the wax by scooping it up from the other end.

    one of the first candle making videos i ever watched was about how to make the drip effect with solid candles! You pour in layers (like regular) and then take a very hot metal stick and poke down in basically the same way! or you can also pour in layers, remove the shape of the drip you want from your first layer, pour your second layer, etc.
    Not as easy as the beads but!! still possible!

    I'm glad y'all always take the needed safety precautions. Recently, a guy I had went to high school with and his new wife were making candles and somehow one exploded into flames and he jumped on top of her to save her from the flames, and they both lived but with severe burns on a huge percentage of their bodies. He was very brave for what he did. I don't know how or why it happened, but it has made me fearful to make candles.

    I didn’t even know this was a “trend” 😂 I was trying to find something like this in 2012 for my wedding and nobody had anything. I ended up making them myself by using a cheap cheese grater and a regular candle and it worked tremendously.

  • @lcc8042
    @lcc8042 8 месяцев назад +13

    On the candles that have liquid in them, I would put a layer of melted wax to separate the two. The beads won’t sink in to water if there is something between them.
    I think that this is a project that needs repeating, especially if y’all are going to try and find cheaper beads.
    🤔 Maybe a buy vs DYI: get a blender (and/or different methods of making wax beads) and bought wax. Then make different projects with each kind.
    **thoughts on pentagram candle:
    -I would have drawn/traced/etched a pattern/dent/trench then poured the wax out.
    -would have been cool to pour melted black wax as the pentagram
    -the crouching guy was totally running away from the summoned flame. He wasn’t a true believer, when the flame appeared he was like “uh, NOPE” 😂😂😂
    Totally love y’all, Evan and Katelyn, can’t wait till your next video/project/stream.

    • @mwater_moon2865
      @mwater_moon2865 7 месяцев назад +1

      Also, with the pentagram candle, while the trench would likely help, what they really needed to control where the wax is going a bit better than the squeezy bottle would be a smoother flow. For that I highly recommend cutting a straw at an angle (or even better, use a slushie straw). And the whole vibration thing is exactly what we do with powered enamels and glass when we need to control a line so Evan had a good idea.

    So I've figured out how to make this stuff. You use a device called a granulator, and it mists hot wax into the air so that that wax cools into small crystals, and then a drum spinning around the mister collects the granulated wax, and pushes it out one end of the drum so that it can be collected. This thing takes up a lot of space, and I don't believe it's feasible to do the same thing for an at home application. You would need a pump that can handle the wax, misters that can spray the wax fine enough that it cools inside the diameter of your drum (Recommend the drum for better collection although you could remove it and use like a large tarp underneath the mister), a motor to move said drum, a collection point and shoot to collect the wax. If made here in the US I could see how this would be an expensive product. It's a niece product, with little application on large scale, and requires semiprofessional equipment to create. I think I could make something to make this stuff, but sadly I don't have the money nor patience to do it.

    Drawing a circle around the five points creates a symbol referred to as the pentacle, which is used widely by Wiccans and in paganism, or as a sign of life and connections. The word "pentagram" refers only to the five-pointed star, not the surrounding circle of a pentacle.
