@Masha Shubin, Do you know of a brand name for dip resin? This is the first time that I have heard of that type of resin. Edit: corrected Masha's name.
The weird lavender ring holder thing was absolutely made with the clear soap jelly stuff. If you watch when they grab it from the jar it squishes under their grip
Prepandemic I was doing courses to teach ages 4 + wire wrapping, lots of kids and parents and even older people trying it out and they all bought one of my pieces at the end with a new found appreciation for how insanely hard wire wrapping is XD Kids did better than most of the parents xD
I've recently repaired (in a way) my roommate's pair of glasses using wire (kanthal, 24 gauge) and some builder gel for nails. I have to say in a way because of how I applied the wire and builder gel the glasses are NEVER going to fold shut ever again. The pair of glasses broke at the hinges of the bows and I layed down a layer of base coat around the bows (did one side at a time) and cured it. I then layed a thin layer of the builder gel and placed the wire on the wet gel and then cured that. I repeated this step for each of three of the four sides of each bow. I then layed down a layer encompassing all four sides of each bow and cured that. These steps were then repeated for the second bow. So, now the glasses are again functional as a pair of glasses but they can't fold at the bows anymore..... but at least they are functional again.....
I bought a flower comb kit from Sophie & Toffee. It was super simple to execute with the pot of "wire dip resin". It's made just for projects like these. I had zero clue this type of resin existed until I saw a review of the subscription on NerdeCrafters channel.
I've made flower crowns out of the first life hack before, but with nail polish, back in the tumblr flower crown days. They looked pretty nice with the "stems" wrapped in green floral tape!
@@schoo9256 I always bent the petals a little to give them more of a curve, so yeah, it can be a little 3d! It can be a bit harder to get the nail polish bubble to not pop, but it looked cute when you got it to work!
Maybe the spoon is meant more as a page holder than as a bookmark. Like, for example, you are following a recipe in a cookbook and you need the book to remain open to a particular page. Just an idea.
I think you might need a ladle for that 😂 not sure that spoon could keep a book from shutting, especially when it's round-side down. Bending the handle on top of the bowl might work, as then there'd be more contact between the spoon edge and the pages… or you could use a binder clip or something else more fit to propose!
@@emilyrln If you put the spoon on the top or bottom instead of the side of the book it should work. When the spoon presses down on the binding this way the book won't close, but you should use a tablespoon that is on the wider side to keep the book open enough to read.

@@Donteatacowman Its not that difficult to bend a spoon. I take spoons right from the drawer and bend them just for fun (I bend them back to their original shape after)

For the third hack they are not using parchment paper, they are probably using Freezer Paper or Wax paper both of which have one side that is really smooth.
@@jlammetje No, in this case, *the thing* being discussed is not whether the hack video was useful or not (it's obviously not, and no one is saying it is). I'd love to see you guys attempt resin deco crafts. I've mainly seen Korean resin crafters do them, but they make things like magical girl compacts, mini merry-go-rounds, super ornate decked-out notebook covers, and so much more! I actually have a bookmark spoon but they flatten the curve of the spoon and thinned it out a bit so it's not as thick. I love it! The handle is also thin with a beautiful design too.

I've done that too! Dipping it in wood glue, and then painting it with nail polish once it dried. Seems a lot cheaper and easier than resin, although of course the curing time is longer.
You can also stick tape on one side and then put the resin on the other side and carefully peel the tape off after it's cured. That's what i always see people do
I just want to say thank y’all, for helping me discover my passion and love of resin crafting. I started watching y’all about 2 months ago, and decided to try resin art with my husband soon after. I ended up showing a few pieces, such as bottle openers and “Crystal” necklaces, to my sister-in-law. She enjoyed them enough she asked if I would be willing to make decorations for her baby shower (which is in just a few hours, now), to which I gladly agreed. I got so carried away with the honor of being asked to make decorations, that I ended up also making party favors (shot glasses for each guest bag), game prizes, small medium and large (necklaces, shakers, and working Ferris wheel photo frame), as well as many decorations, all of which took over 2 gallons of resin. Of course my husband has had to help me the last few days since I may or may not have taken too much on, however it’s been an absolute blast to watch our hard work continuously improve and impress our friends and family, and I’m truly excited to see how the baby shower guests and prize winners will react when they see everything we put together for the party. 🖤💙🖤
I can't stress enough how much I absolutely heck'n love the two of you. Your personalities, how well you get along, how you can talk over each other and just seamlessly carry on, no stress. I LOVE you two! I've been addicted to watching every single one of your videos since I first discovered you a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for being such a big part of my life!!! xoxo

Oh god, that first hack takes me back- that used to be a big thing back in my highschool, except we used nailpolish. I never personally tried it, but i had friends who had who told me it worked surprisingly well.
I definitely remember a craft kit from my youth where you made flowers using a similar method (but of course not with resin, it was like a plastic when dried)
One way to use the book mark is to use it at the top of the page, instead of the side, and have the pretty part stick "hanging" over the front cover, and having the handle on the page you are on
To make the phone case look nicer you could just stick the tape to the inside of the case. That way the outside, which you'll actually see, will be nice and flat and you'll have more control over the design :D
The chairman of Noodles Mr. Nood McNoddleface noted "bruh". 🤣 I love your little sponsor blocks you guys do. They're the only ones I never skip through, I really enjoy them! 😊
The 1st one also works with nail polish! I’ve actually done it myself a while ago. You just need to make sure the petals/leaves are small and/or narrow for it to hold
Hack #2 - the spoon "Bookmark". Drill a hole in the handle end of the spoon. Tie a piece of string to it to a tree or anywhere outside. Get any old cup/mug and use the spoon as a hook to put the cup onto. Fill the cup with bird seed or fat cakes. Did this in the garden with some old spoons and mugs. The sparkly resin will look awesome in the sunlight outside :)
i think the spoon is actually a book weight to keep a book open to a certain page. so if your cookbook keeps flopping closed, you can pin it open so you don’t have to keep flipping to get back to your recipe. still a not great version, but not as bad as treating it as a bookmark.
2:29 does anyone else sing along with resin time now? 6:25 Katelyn is having a Mulan moment 13:00 I love how Katelyn still has the Pringles earrings, lol 14:30 not even the same flower...
For things like this, you should do kina like you do the expensive vs cheap comparisons. Do the hack, then take the idea and make it better. Like, maybe at least sand and shape hack 3 to get it clear and level. And for the bookmark, either do use the idea to make it into a necklace, maybe pop the resin out of the spoon so it has a dome shape, or find something better to use as a bookmark made out of resin.
i'd genuinely love to see you guys recreate the resin nail holder unsanded bottom spikey pokey murder tool thing but with proper tools and technique! :D
lol @spikey pokey murder tool. I love it. Going to try and remember that phrase for later today. My daughter an I are team tackling the kitchen so I can wreck it making bbq chicken. Will tell her later to check the chicken with a spikey pokey murder tool. Thank you for the laughs :D
I litterally haven't watched you guys in two years. And you are.... just amazing. I'm so glad you didn't change v much and still have the same comedy!!
For the resin dip leaves, I've done something similar using nail polish, and it works pretty well (and a bit easier, I'd guess). Great video as always, would love to see more
The first one would be an amazing gift. It's like a more advanced version of knitting someone a scarf. It could be customized to their favorite color/the color that they wear the most, and the time that it takes is exactly what makes it such a nice gift.
katelyn going "I've been training for this my entire life" and then looking hella confused at the camera when Evan agreed JHDKFASDASKDFJSAKDFKASKD yall are so entertaining effortlessly I can't
Oh, I've done that first one using nail polish, it was a trend some years back to make like these flower crowns of nailpolish flowers. A thing to keep in mind is that the frame needs to be slightly bent to create the full petal effect. I think you can still find tutorials for it online, I'd love to see you guys make a resin version of it! Embrace your inner flower girls!
Sadley I've only just came across your channel the last 3 weeks, its not necessarily the sort of channel I would normaly watch, but with in just 3 weeks u guys have got me addicted lol,the amount of such cool stuff u guys do is amazing!!!!what I love the most is,the way your are with each other, rarely do u see so much love and respect in husband/wife channels, the coolest couple, the funniest couple, and the most interesting couple,i need this channel in my life right now,so thank u so much guys ❤
For the 4th hack might be improved by taping a piece of smooth laminate to the back (SPRAYED WITH MOLD RELEASE) taped to the back. Depending on the material, you might be able to smooth the cut edges with a bit of heat.
You two are always here when I need you. It's been hard for the past few months but I'm really grateful bc you help me see that it is possible, you can have the job, the art and the love. Thanks Evan and Katelyn
It’s funny because a lot of these are actual crafts that actual artists make and sell it’s like they went onto Etsy and made bad life hacks out of some of the art they found on there lol
Because they get the klicks, be that because of people reacting and making fun of their content, and the ridiculous amount of money they can make with sponsors and advertising…. And apparently RUclips hasn’t banned misinformation or content that is false/fake
you two are just simply wonderfully dorky and adorable. Never stop what you do, being you... the pair of you as one... you are magic. the two of your draw people to you in such variety and care. Much loves...
I actually had a bookmark with a similar shape, sort of like a hook. It would go in parallel with the spine, and the decorated “spoon” part hooked over the edge so it was out of the way. I think it could work, but I’m not sure the craft hack intended anything more than this lol
This is my kid’s favorite show since she was 9 (she is 13 now). She absolutely loves your channels!! This is a great family friendly channel for kids and adults! *I definitely don’t sing along to resign time song with her* :/
The "spoon bending" with your mind made me laugh out loud. I'm surprised how well the leaves turned out in the first one! Good job making what was probably a fake video into something real and cool looking.
Omg! The petal technique was 10x better than what I tried as a child! There was a similar resin-like flower kit my parents found one time, but the technique was weird.... they had to be partly dried after 'basting' between the simple 1-wire frame, then VERY DELICATELY bent and shaped. The main problem here was that it was cellophane thin..... most of them broke before the final shaping. I'm glad there is a better alternative, and I wish I had this instead!
Maybe for the lavender ring holder, use wax paper instead of parchment paper so it doesn’t stick as much and maybe it would be less cloudy. I mean, the wax may melt with the resin but maybe it would work because it works for baking in 300 degrees Fahrenheit
My guess was that you'd release the resin from the spoon, flip it dome-side up, and then you have a little galaxy bubble. And you could make that a pendant, like Katelyn's guess. But, that's too good of one for those dolts in who-knows-what-country. And don't forget the mold release!
I just wanted to suggest that for the lavender resin hack, they probably didn’t use parchment paper, I believe they used wax paper. Since wax paper has a more shiny surface and might theoretically be able to démoli the resin easier.
I would love to see a video of you two covering random things in resin! (it could be called will it resin!) I love your videos and I am excited to see what you do next!
fun fact about the parchment hack, it's made in what us bakers would call a cornet bag(they didn't properly show how to shape a cornet bag) but we use it for many royal icing designs and for scripting with chocolate. You guys did great!

For the resin dip leaves, I've done something similar using nail polish, and it works pretty well (and a bit easier, I'd guess).
Great video as always, would love to see more
Also, you guys assume that they are always using UV resin, but I doubt it on most of these
Sandrartes (channel) has done some dip leaves successfully.
I've used glue and colorant and it worked great!
that handwave transition tho....
*chef's kiss*
The editing style is getting crazy awesome. Great job guys, that was give you a real personality in the middle of all the craft channels.
The first one would be an amazing gift. It's like a more advanced version of knitting someone a scarf. It could be customized to their favorite color/the color that they wear the most, and the time that it takes is exactly what makes it such a nice gift.
This channel is one of very few that I genuinely enjoy watching!
First hack was done with Dip it Fantasy Film 'glass' kit. I have the same one, its a vintage type acryllic dip resin.
katelyn going "I've been training for this my entire life" and then looking hella confused at the camera when Evan agreed JHDKFASDASKDFJSAKDFKASKD yall are so entertaining effortlessly I can't
Everytime I watch your videos, my mood goes up by like a 100. Thank you so much for posting your content and making my day better!
I used to have a craft kit like the first life hack! brought me back to my childhood haha
Absolutely love Evan. Absolutely love Katelyn. The hilarious editing as always steals the show
Sadley I've only just came across your channel the last 3 weeks, its not necessarily the sort of channel I would normaly watch, but with in just 3 weeks u guys have got me addicted lol,the amount of such cool stuff u guys do is amazing!!!!what I love the most is,the way your are with each other, rarely do u see so much love and respect in husband/wife channels, the coolest couple, the funniest couple, and the most interesting couple,i need this channel in my life right now,so thank u so much guys ❤
For the 4th hack might be improved by taping a piece of smooth laminate to the back (SPRAYED WITH MOLD RELEASE) taped to the back. Depending on the material, you might be able to smooth the cut edges with a bit of heat.
Your channel is one of the few that I don't skip the sponsor parts because you make them so entertaining.
I actually scanned the danger tape dispenser buy here code at the very end of the video and was not disappointed. The edits are amazing as always!
I agree with Katelyn about the spoon being a necklace pendant, it just seems better than a bookmark.
You two are always here when I need you. It's been hard for the past few months but I'm really grateful bc you help me see that it is possible, you can have the job, the art and the love. Thanks Evan and Katelyn
I actually did sneering similar to me phone case years ago but with gel polish on the outside, it came out so cute!
5:10 i call that the scanimation effect. i love that you used it.
It’s funny because a lot of these are actual crafts that actual artists make and sell it’s like they went onto Etsy and made bad life hacks out of some of the art they found on there lol
Why does 5 minute crafts still... do what they do...
Edit: Dang das a lot of comments XD
Money
Because your watching a video about their video... Aka interaction lol
They want cash lol
Because apparently it works so they won’t stop till it doesn’t work anymore :/
Because they get the klicks, be that because of people reacting and making fun of their content, and the ridiculous amount of money they can make with sponsors and advertising…. And apparently RUclips hasn’t banned misinformation or content that is false/fake
What a fun and fresh couple! You two made a perfect match in this craft!
2:22 i absolutely love when you edit evan and make him so *w i d e*
you two are just simply wonderfully dorky and adorable.
Ad segment was so good, love the forbidden cookie
This is my kid’s favorite show since she was 9 (she is 13 now). She absolutely loves your channels!! This is a great family friendly channel for kids and adults!
*I definitely don’t sing along to resign time song with her* :/
Her 5 minute hacks voice was so good I didn't realize it was an ad until she said squarespace! XD
The "spoon bending" with your mind made me laugh out loud. I'm surprised how well the leaves turned out in the first one! Good job making what was probably a fake video into something real and cool looking.
the editing in this video is absolutely hilarious - its great in the other videos, but this one is somethin special-
THIS IS SOOO COOOL cant wait till i start my resin journey
Honestly a detailed version of the phone case could be a fun minisode!
The animated breath of air Evan takes after that evil laugh 🤣🤣🤣 you guys always make my day :)
Notification of another E&K video:
ME LITERALLY RUNNING TO WATCH IT 🏃🏃🏃
~RESINating~
I can't believe it's been 2 years since I first saw this video! You guys are awesome! Keep up the amazing work! I love all your projects you do!
A flexible silicone mould would still make the demoulding process easier than a rigid metal spoon
My aunt used to make whole bouquets using the first technique. Her tulips were sooo pretty.
Evan switching out his cat hears for demon horns is just… Perfectly matched with his chaos
I love the "120 Minute EvanKatelyn" thing they added in 12:45
I just wanted to suggest that for the lavender resin hack, they probably didn’t use parchment paper, I believe they used wax paper. Since wax paper has a more shiny surface and might theoretically be able to démoli the resin easier.
I've never seen anyone more disappointed that a hack has worked.
I would love to see a video of you two covering random things in resin! (it could be called will it resin!) I love your videos and I am excited to see what you do next!
Not only do I watch your videos when they first come out, I also watch all your videos on loop while I sleep. They brighten my day and dreams
For the ring holder experiment ... I'd guess a waxed parchment paper would end up more clear?
the wax would probably melt onto the resin...
One thing we've actually done before that worked well on concrete molds was transparency sheets, since they're shiny! that might work
@@EvanAndKatelyn rock resin!!!
You guys are the only ones that make me smile and laugh the whole time
As a librarian, I cannot condone the use of the spoon bookmark 😅
fun fact about the parchment hack, it's made in what us bakers would call a cornet bag(they didn't properly show how to shape a cornet bag) but we use it for many royal icing designs and for scripting with chocolate. You guys did great!
Evan: Bend the spoon with just your mind.
Katelyn: Looks intently at spoon.
Me: There is no spoon.
I just realized how old this reference is. Now I feel old.
You're right! There is no spoon, only Zuul. *sage nod*
Dear God they've done it again! In all seriousness i love watching your guys' videos, keep on being awesome
