The weird lavender ring holder thing was absolutely made with the clear soap jelly stuff. If you watch when they grab it from the jar it squishes under their grip
Got recommended this video and decided to watch it, and I just got to say, that these two's energy is incredible I watched the whole thing because they were so fun to watch
@Masha Shubin, Do you know of a brand name for dip resin? This is the first time that I have heard of that type of resin. Edit: corrected Masha's name.
I'd love to see you guys attempt resin deco crafts. I've mainly seen Korean resin crafters do them, but they make things like magical girl compacts, mini merry-go-rounds, super ornate decked-out notebook covers, and so much more! I'd recommend Nelco Neco for the hardest and most beautiful looking crafts I have ever seen!
I've done that too! Dipping it in wood glue, and then painting it with nail polish once it dried. Seems a lot cheaper and easier than resin, although of course the curing time is longer.
You can also stick tape on one side and then put the resin on the other side and carefully peel the tape off after it's cured. That's what i always see people do
To make the phone case look nicer you could just stick the tape to the inside of the case. That way the outside, which you'll actually see, will be nice and flat and you'll have more control over the design :D
The chairman of Noodles Mr. Nood McNoddleface noted "bruh". 🤣 I love your little sponsor blocks you guys do. They're the only ones I never skip through, I really enjoy them! 😊
katelyn going "I've been training for this my entire life" and then looking hella confused at the camera when Evan agreed JHDKFASDASKDFJSAKDFKASKD yall are so entertaining effortlessly I can't
For the resin dip leaves, I've done something similar using nail polish, and it works pretty well (and a bit easier, I'd guess). Great video as always, would love to see more
for the first hack ive done that with regular old nail polish. Without the benefit of the quick curing uv resin its trickier. One thing I've found that helps is curving the wire form like a petal and in general making a tear drop shape. Making the form curved means the resin bubble ends up curved and this seems to give the resin a better chance of not popping.
i'd genuinely love to see you guys recreate the resin nail holder unsanded bottom spikey pokey murder tool thing but with proper tools and technique! :D
lol @spikey pokey murder tool. I love it. Going to try and remember that phrase for later today. My daughter an I are team tackling the kitchen so I can wreck it making bbq chicken. Will tell her later to check the chicken with a spikey pokey murder tool. Thank you for the laughs :D
I have a glove hack. It can get a bit warm, but wearing very thin cotton gloves under rubber gloves helps with putting on & taking off. I did this while working on a very sticky project.
Saw the leaf, had to do it right away, paused the video, and grabbed my uv resin. I had the same problem first shot. The second time i shined the light on the pot of resin as I was pulling the leaf out. Worked like a charm. Just gotta set it before it pops.
if you have unwanted frosty look on resin use mid grit sand paper and work your way to higher grits, then onto a polish. you can make them crystal clear.
15:00 this is actually a method that pastry chefs use to make parchment piping bags :D! You can get the point very tight/pointy that the final cone would hold water. You can make them just about any size you’d like, but they are great for small amounts of stuff/fine piping work like with chocolate or royal icing.
@@iPyromantic lol I didn't compare it, but I wanted to inform that making such a thing from parchment paper is useful in a real profession (of course done correctly). Just thought it was a fun tidbit. Btw I've worked as a pastry chef for more than a decade myself, so cheers fellow patissier!
I use a fine UV laser pointer if I am doing something that I need the resin to cure like mid drip or if I need to stop runaway. When I saw how the resin dripped down a strand of fishing line that got knocked into it I knew I had to try making fake rain for my cloud ceiling by curing the drips almost instantly. It worked shockingly well. So I figured the ring holder would be ok with the open tip since you guys have good UV lights. Gotta love when weird techniques work out.
I just wanted to suggest that for the lavender resin hack, they probably didn’t use parchment paper, I believe they used wax paper. Since wax paper has a more shiny surface and might theoretically be able to démoli the resin easier.
The frosted look is easy to correct. Just brush a thin layer of resin over the item, give it a minute to self level, then cure it. It wont be a perfect surface but it will be clear.
Try using gloss varnish spray on the ring holder. It should fill in the tiny gaps of the texture on the surface and give you a clear glass-like finish.
Fun fact I used to work in a college dining room and they had this very particular type of silverware, it bent EXTREMELY easily, I think they were aluminum or something. I don't know why they used them, but surprisingly we didn't find them bent often.
6:26 Genuinely, I think that is so so beautiful. If I could make one myself, I 100% would, but I know it takes a while. You guys did amazing with that craft! GOD I love resin so much! 22:03 BYE. I'M DEAD
I do the first one a lot but i dont use resin. I use mod podge and a tiny bit of gold paint to get a dragonfly wing look. I make clay fairies and use those as the wings because it dries clear and leaves gold behind on a see through looking wing ❤️
On that first one, their resin was thicker, also, if you narrowed the leaves, or added more wire through the middle of the larger sections, it would hold better.
For Hack 3 - sand it down, make it shiny, add a tiny LED to the bottom and you have a Lavender Unicorn horn that changes color! Hack 4 -That poor phone case deserves your respect! It has been protecting your phone with it's life! (the old case, not the new one) xD
I like it un level because that way it looks like a unicorn horn so it basically just looks like you cut off a unicorns horn and then are sticking your rings on it. I like it
It’s important to remember that even an elephant can make art if you teach it to use a paintbrush. They’re bound to have some semi stable ideas rolling around in their house of madness
Takes practice to do the resin flowers but you'll get there, i struggled allot at first but then got use to it😊 you can even use those nail lights that are used in nail salons to dry gel nails Ps. I always do resin art with my bare hands cause im roo lazy to get gloves
For the first one, their resin pool was deeper, so they were able to remove the petal more or less vertically and the excess resin was able to drop off the end. Yours was so shallow that you lifted it out horizontally so the bubble was holding all the weight of the resin, including any excess which would go to the centre of the bubble. Also, they had about a dozen petals in the width of a hair slide, so they must have been quite small. They look about the size of their finger tip. They also had much less pigment, and I suspect it was liquid. Powder particles would act as a weak spot in the resin. It wasn't a 5-minute hack, but I'm sure if you'd have been able to do it much quicker if you'd paid attention. Considering how long you've been doing this, and the number of times you've failed because you didn't pay attention, I'm surprised that you've still not learnt the importance of attention to detail. For the cones, I suspect they were using wax paper, which is smooth and would demould easier. Also their cones were much more acute (thinner), so were easier to cure. That phone case (both the original and yours) was so bad. You have an excuse for doing it, but why would they choose to show off theirs? It's like a kid's painting that's so bad their mum wouldn't even put it on the fridge.
The spoon idea may be a good one if you have a book like a recipe book that keeps flooping over and you need something to keep the page open so you can go back to it. I don't know. It might be a good idea for that.

Thanks for making a new video 👍
Resin 3d printing bust's of y'all in Greek style 🗿
Hi I love your videos I cant wait to watch it when I'm out of school 😁
Hello!
I want to see your version of doing these better! :)
The weird lavender ring holder thing was absolutely made with the clear soap jelly stuff. If you watch when they grab it from the jar it squishes under their grip
either jelly soap, or it wasn't cured at all lmao
@@Egg-tu9cc it wasnt cured at all lmfaoo
That’s possible, 5minlies are capable of anything.
Got recommended this video and decided to watch it, and I just got to say, that these two's energy is incredible
I watched the whole thing because they were so fun to watch
The first hack was done with dip resin (different than normal resin). It might be fun to do a video using that.
🤯🤯 OMG. When the real life hacks are in the comments
@Masha Shubin, Do you know of a brand name for dip resin? This is the first time that I have heard of that type of resin.
Edit: corrected Masha's name.
Sophie and Toffee has an assortment of dip resin
i think you would be able to use clear uv gel too, the type for gel nails. its very thick so it should work
Also, don't pull straight up like a spoon. Have to pull at an angle.
I've had success doing the flower hack, but instead, the tutorial I followed used wood glue. It worked great!
What else did you use with the glue?
I've done that too! Dipping it in wood glue, and then painting it with nail polish once it dried. Seems a lot cheaper and easier than resin, although of course the curing time is longer.
You can also stick tape on one side and then put the resin on the other side and carefully peel the tape off after it's cured. That's what i always see people do
The first one was a popular thing to do in the 70s. You would buy a kit and make flower designs with them. So many people did it
To make the phone case look nicer you could just stick the tape to the inside of the case. That way the outside, which you'll actually see, will be nice and flat and you'll have more control over the design :D
I cannot express how thankful I am that I decided to scan the QR code for the Danger Tape Dispenser.
I tip my hat to y'all.
The worst thing ever is when you can’t do something so you finally ask for help then they do it in under .5 seconds 😭 so embarrassing
The chairman of Noodles Mr. Nood McNoddleface noted "bruh". 🤣 I love your little sponsor blocks you guys do. They're the only ones I never skip through, I really enjoy them! 😊
seing how you two interact with each other always makes me feel so happy and calm. thank you for your content 🥰
greetings from Germany
katelyn going "I've been training for this my entire life" and then looking hella confused at the camera when Evan agreed JHDKFASDASKDFJSAKDFKASKD yall are so entertaining effortlessly I can't
With this thumbnail I thought they finally made crack resin
Evan and Katelyn's ad reads are a genuine joy to watch
I have never seen anyone use a bookmark on the side of a book before, that was a very unique experience for me
I actually did sneering similar to me phone case years ago but with gel polish on the outside, it came out so cute!
The do gets me every time
Resin time, resin time,Do do do do ,resin time!
My aunt used to make whole bouquets using the first technique. Her tulips were sooo pretty.
For the resin dip leaves, I've done something similar using nail polish, and it works pretty well (and a bit easier, I'd guess).
Great video as always, would love to see more
Also, you guys assume that they are always using UV resin, but I doubt it on most of these
Sandrartes (channel) has done some dip leaves successfully.
I've used glue and colorant and it worked great!
for the first hack ive done that with regular old nail polish. Without the benefit of the quick curing uv resin its trickier. Came here to second the spikey-pokey-murder tool!
I have a glove hack. It can get a bit warm, but wearing very thin cotton gloves under rubber gloves helps with putting on & taking off. I did this while working on a very sticky project.
The resident evil door clip made me laugh way too hard. I almost choked on my dinner.
😂😂😂😂 im dieing over Katelyn bending the spoon in post
Saw the leaf, had to do it right away, paused the video, and grabbed my uv resin. I had the same problem first shot. The second time i shined the light on the pot of resin as I was pulling the leaf out. Worked like a charm. Just gotta set it before it pops.
I actually scanned the danger tape dispenser buy here code at the very end of the video and was not disappointed. The edits are amazing as always!
The flowers you can do with nailpolish! Works even better ;)
if you have unwanted frosty look on resin use mid grit sand paper and work your way to higher grits, then onto a polish. you can make them crystal clear.

As a pastry cook I'm honestly insulted that you would compare what Five Minute Crafts did to an actual cornet. 😅

2:22 i absolutely love when you edit evan and make him so *w i d e*

Honest I love you guys so much. I used to watch you a couple years back and I’m so glad I found y’all again :]

13:13 the only channel where ads are more funny than the video
"I want to be saltier" I'm going to be using this from now on in my daily life lol
T-Shirt design? :)
Did someone call NerdECrafter?
who dat @Kat
The first one looks amazing.
The first one I have only seen done with nail polish… turned out great!
The frosted look is easy to correct. Just brush a thin layer of resin over the item, give it a minute to self level, then cure it. It wont be a perfect surface but it will be clear.
Make joobie a space suit please
I honestly thought the spoon would be a necklace!🤣🤣🤣
I've seen the flower petal one around for years, but with nail polish
Try using gloss varnish spray on the ring holder. It should fill in the tiny gaps of the texture on the surface and give you a clear glass-like finish.
The spoon one wasn’t a book mark. When you read big books it can hold the pages down so they don’t fill up. Hands-free reading!
For the lavender in the cone, would a transparent plastic sheet work better? It would be smooth and it would let the UV light through.
I vaguely recall a kit back in the 90s that produced some thing similar to hack 1
Fun fact I used to work in a college dining room and they had this very particular type of silverware, it bent EXTREMELY easily, I think they were aluminum or something. I don't know why they used them, but surprisingly we didn't find them bent often.
You could hook the bookmark to the top of the book so it is less likely to slip off. :O)
6:26
Genuinely, I think that is so so beautiful. If I could make one myself, I 100% would, but I know it takes a while. You guys did amazing with that craft! GOD I love resin so much!
22:03 BYE. I'M DEAD
the leaf one ...nail polish works to ...paint over wax paper
Eagerly awaiting part 3!!!!!
I love the uv curing resins, it's so cool,
"I went to HEB" - ahhhh a man of great taste I see!
For Hack 3 - sand it down, make it shiny, add a tiny LED to the bottom and you have a Lavender Unicorn horn that changes color! Hack 4 -That poor phone case deserves your respect! It has been protecting your phone with it's life! (the old case, not the new one) xD
I would've been yelling at Even or even my partner for doing what he did in the resin spoon book mark.
Katelyn, I am deeply interested in knowing more about the pants you're wearing. They're so cute! I need them in my wardrobe.
So much fun!
Thé resin spoons you could make into napkin holders possibly, that’s what I though when I saw them lol
4:00 "theres a lot of not in focus on that one!" umm i think the captions were meant to say "progress" not "not in focus"
I like it un level because that way it looks like a unicorn horn so it basically just looks like you cut off a unicorns horn and then are sticking your rings on it. I like it
Not a resin idea, but!! I would actually love to see you guys trying to make cosplay pieces with foam and/or 3D printing
I was thinking the spoon would make a great hanger for hand towels and such. Just drill a hole in the handle and screw it to a wall or cabinet.
you can do the leaf thing with wood glue and paint
Instead of using the red tape you should use resin tape, its specifically designed for UV resin's higher temp and doesnt curl or melt
The spoon I think is supposed to be a paper weight, like when you want to hold a page open in a book 😸
It’s important to remember that even an elephant can make art if you teach it to use a paintbrush. They’re bound to have some semi stable ideas rolling around in their house of madness
I think the spoon was for holding a page down because they always go somewhere
Takes practice to do the resin flowers but you'll get there, i struggled allot at first but then got use to it😊 you can even use those nail lights that are used in nail salons to dry gel nails
Ps. I always do resin art with my bare hands cause im roo lazy to get gloves
The acrylic you put on your nails is just UV resin. And that gets on your skin the whole time.
What is that amazing holder thing with the spoon?
I've been subscribed October 1 2022 this is the first video I ever watched of yours. Hi kevins❤❤
The first "hack" was just cellophane/fairy film over wire which is a real technique used by cosplayers and doll customizers who make fairy wings.
What is the handheld thing you used to cure the resin? On the first part, the leaf hair piece.
nevermind I now see it is UV resin, cured with a UV
Would waxed paper work better than parchment paper? I've never looked closely, lol, but I think it's a much smoother surface?
looooove u testing life hacks
So I’ve been using resin for a while now and I reacted the same way when I watched those videos.
If you added another layer of resin on the cone, would it be shiny?
For the first one, their resin pool was deeper, so they were able to remove the petal more or less vertically and the excess resin was able to drop off the end. Yours was so shallow that you lifted it out horizontally so the bubble was holding all the weight of the resin, including any excess which would go to the centre of the bubble. I think the spoon could work... if you make it flat with a mallet :3
The spoon idea may be a good one if you have a book like a recipe book that keeps flooping over and you need something to keep the page open so you can go back to it. I don't know. It might be a good idea for that.
The spoon bookmark might work if the spoon was flattened.... I wanna see them do it
The spoon bookmark is for a cookbook so the page is kept open
I think that spoon book thing was supposed to be something to hold your book open to the page you're reading instead of being a bookmark.
I feel like with the flowers they needed to be held so that gravity isn't pushing the centre
The resin phone case didn’t turn out that bad! It looks kind of nice actually 👀
To be fair I think the “bookmark” is actually supposed to be a book clip to hold open a paperback
I scanned the QR code at the end and was not disappointed
I have a question.
What happens if you drip a drop of uv resin from a height in a strong uv environment.
Would it harden on the way down?
I suspect that you could polish the ring holder
i think the spoon bookmark might be to keep the book open so u can read it more easy
Disclaimer with uv resin,
If you use a non see through container to mold uv resin it wont be flat and it will warp where the edges are
i think the flower spike one might have been wax paper? I don't really know anything about resin though.
I want to see how you would do the 5-minute crafts.
The spoon one could be good as a paperweight, maybe?
Wow 2 out of 4 worked! Too bad the spoon was so pretty for something so pointless lol
For the first hack, I think they were flower petals, not leaves? 🤣
Couldn’t you make the leaves and tape the back and use uv resin and then peel of the tape after curing it?
It was definitely jewelry wire, which is way softer and thiner.
