Candy does not decompose. It just gets stale, because of the sugar. Bacteria can’t effect sugar

pillow enthusiast ants won’t eat hard candy. It was made on winter, by the time and season comes the candy will be stale, they won’t get to it
They can add a layer of resin on top of the candy and it'll save it for as long as they need it
they should have coated the candy with resin.
I spent at least 6 ish hours making a gingerbread village, complete with a giant tree in the center, and me and my family fully plan on devouring it on Christmas Day.
Unfortunately, someone has been sneaking bits (we all know it's my older brother).
I always love to eat it after.

I have never built a Gingerbread house.... (and never eaten one).... It's been on my "bucket list" for years.
My grandfather was the chemist who invented two part epoxy resin. I really wish he was still around to see this. Resin gingerbread houses was definitely an unexpected outcome of his invention.
I think he would have approved :)

Thanks for the funny video and the beautiful gingerbread-houses! The mystery-thing at 16.06: is the side view of a type of sled called "Hörnerschlitten". It is very common in the Alps and other European mountain areas. You can ride it for fun as well as transport hay, crops or wood from high up the mountain down into the valley.
I liked Evan's more. It's more of a traditional gingerbread house to me and the fact that it is built in resin means that it should stand the test of time.

when i was a kid when we made ginger bread houses of course we used cake icing so like 2 days after christmas i would pick off the candies (parents didnt care they made 2 houses so sister and i had 1 to pick candy from ) and the houses were made christmas eve morning so wasnt out long

18:13 I have no idea if anyone will see this who needs this info but White Chocolate's or Candy melts for actual gingerbread houses you want food based amd/or edible. Melt them and have a little pot or dish ready. You can dip edges in or paint. Then hold your pieces together while it cools. Because its a small amount that will happen quickly. Once its set it will be nice and firm for holding things togehter. If you want it fancier after you can go over it in icing. Added bonus you can stick it in the fridge sfter assembly so your surface is nice and cool for applying icing.

I feel like Katelyn's mold was a Hansel and Gretel theme mold.
I know it's a little late but I work on a food truck and I have that problem with gloves also. I keep a little bag of cornstarch on the truck for when I can't get gloves on. You only need a tiny bit.

I made one out of sugar cookie dough (I can't have molasses, so no gingerbread for me) and I took it to work to let all the employees eat it, and no one would touch any of it till I punched a big hole in the roof and made it obviously damaged/destroyed. No one wanted to be the first one to wreck it!
We made, and ate our gingerbread house in the same day

I might need to make my own resin xmas house! I've never been somebody who eats gingerbread houses 'cause they're way too freaking hard by then and sometimes you just want to make a masterpiece you can keep. Also, reuseable decoration for the win!
Totally need to do a redo on this with the same orginal design ideas. BUT use mica powders and dust the mold with the mica powders which will allow you to have you stripes that you both wanted on your roofs.
