EvanAndKatelyn well thats noiceeeee you guys are the best because you dont only have humour and skills there is something else about you guys that i love which i cant explain one word that could probably explain that is cool or trendy or interestnig
Just as a heads up: If you guys ever do decide to sell dice-- like fans suggested-- you should not use those molds. Those molds actually used a preexisting dice maker's dice for the master's without their consent. And most dice makers-- Dispel Dice, the maker of dice that that model was made with, included-- trademark/copyright their fonts. Because of that, it's recommended you actual 3D sculpt and print your own dice, that way there is no infringement, or you pay to use an un-trademarked/copyrighted typeface. Dispel has taken the whole a-company-is-using-my-dice-to-mass-sell-molds thing really well all things considered and has said they don't mind if people who don't know better-- like you guys--buy them and use them for personal use/practice. Just don't sell them in mass. That being said, a fellow RUclipsr Rybonator, has an entire channel dedicated to dice making if you are interested in learning more! He's actually had a video about these models and said they weren't fantastic for all the reasons you guys listed. Sorry for being a Debby Downer, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up just in case!
Karen is really sweet, but I wish so badly that she would pursue some legal action over this. At least against the company producing the molds. She's worked really hard for all of this.
I would definitely tune in for E&K D&D streams. Also, yes the dice are mesmerizing. Also, you may want more sets of them the more D&D you play. Can confirm.
*In first campaign, already has 7 sets of chessex dice* What? I need more for all the damage i plan on doing later, and I'd feel like a pleb if i have to roll the dice again if i require more of said dice then i have. It's called preparation for the future. *goes on amazon because stores are closed, finds more dice* Shiny pretty plastic thingys made pretty click clack noises. *clicks buy* Dammit, who let my inner goblin out?!
I really appreciate that you admitted you don’t know what the different dice are for. I’ve only started learning the rules of D&D over the last few months thanks to watching Dimension 20 and I still don’t understand what determines which die is used a lot of the time!
I actually got a set like that and they are very quirky but aside from that don't actually look that great. It's basically impossible to get the flower in the center so it's always off to one side and a tiny bit hard to see. Concept is indeed great tho
@@Jagdsturm not sure as I haven't made any of these yet but if you did a 50/50 pour and add the flower or whatever to the first half of the resin while it's not quite finished curing, then top off the mold with more resin you should be able to centre the flower!
@@Jagdsturm I have only tried straight pours so far as my pressure pot turned up this week. Might give it a try possibly letting the resin get to the last possible pouring point before putting it in the pressure pot?
Honestly, I've heard making your own resin dice is one of the hardest things - between the voids you guys experienced - and getting them balanced. Also - if you carry the dice with you, and want to sound cool, whip them out and say "Roll for initiative". The nerds will understand.
Love it! If you do this again, pull the plunger completely out of the syringe and cap them, then place them upright in cups and fill them by pouring into the tops *then* de-gas them in the vacuum. Replace the plunger and fill your molds. That way you won't reintroduce air while filling the syringes. Pouring in vs. drawing up the needle is also just be a faster way to fill the syringes so you don't lose so much of your resin working time.
The obvious embarrassment that every single RUclips personality has while trying to sound enthusiastic about Raid: Shadow Legends is getting to the point where it's a meme in itself.

Since I play Dungeon World, as opposed to DnD 5e or Pathfinder, 2 d6 are standard to me, aswell- given you roll 2d6 for roles rather than a d20 like I used to when I played Pathfinder
@0:34 They actually made the clock continuous through the "time travel" cut. Well done. That attention to detail is better than some Hollywood movies. lol
Those holes in the top can be prevented by cutting pipettes and leaving them in the hole in the moulds filled with some resin, so that it fills in when in the pressure pot. Common thing to do with cheap dice moulds. Would recommend watching Dark Moon Dice and Rybonator for some dice tutorials. Then if you guys really like it, to make your own masters 😁
I have these molds and I can tell you that is untrue. The 6 and 9’s both have lines underneath the number. If you WANTED to switch them, you could by filling the lines and keeping/refining the bubbles, but that’s not how the mold itself is.
Any dnd player who hasn't been knocked down to 2 brain cells because of Corona would be able to tell those bubbles are the helpful little things that keep your 9 from becoming a six that could get you killed
I have these molds and I can tell you that is untrue. The 6 and 9’s both have lines underneath the number. If you WANTED to switch them, you could by filling the lines and keeping/refining the bubbles, but those bubbles aren’t “supposed” to be there.
Some of the "voids" on dice with more than 6 faces are actually details in the molds themselves to help distinguish between 6 and 9 since they look the same without them. The first six sided die has dimples instead of digits.
HOW TO FIX YOUR TIME CRUNCH: Not sure how often you guys use resin, but you are suppose to mix your pigment and 'mix-ins' to one part of the resin so it doesn't start curing and then once it is fully mixed add the other part and mix thoroughly.
i mean you could go further and say a D-4 is a tetrahedron, a D-6 is a cube, a D-8 is an octahedron, a D-10 is called a decahedron, a D-12 is called a dodecahedron and a D-20 is called an icosahedron. just thought i'd stick a little geometry in there
See, me and my friends SHOULD know this... But it didn't stop one of my friends from forgetting how to count and using a D12 as a D20 for an entire session 😂 she and our group just thought she was having awful luck that day.
31:32 oh boy Evan has come over to the Dice Goblin dark side. also the bump/bubbles next to the 6 and the 9 are supposed to be there. that's how you tell whether it's a 6 or a 9.
"I think some of these are for D&D" I've played D&D for less than a month and I can tell you that they're all for D&D and similar rpgs, as for what you call them, D+amountofsides so a 'regular dice' is a D6
@@asunflower7993 Me and everyone else I’m playing with had only set up our characters done two practice combat sessions (we are all new to dnd) we where about to start our campaign but tier 4 for the virus interupted sadly

I really appreciate this video! Ever since quarantine, my friends and I created a discord group so we can all keep in touch with each other, play games and watch movies. We just recently started a D&D campaign! Thanks Evan, Katelyn and Joob! I cant wait to see your next Minecraft stream when you finish raiding the Woodland Mansion :)
Critical Role actually has a whole series of videos called handbooker helper that is just teaching you basics of DND! Also I love these dice! The green and yellow look super radioactive and the the pink and white are so pretty 🥺 also having to fill voids in dice in molds like that seems common from what I've seen in dice making videos so it's not you guys's fault it's nuts a common thing
The "bubble" on the 9 side was not a bubble. It was part of the mold. That lil dude is there to let you know which side of the number is the bottom, so you don't get your nines confused with your sixes. Some sets use a dot right there and some use a line under the number.
Any TableTop Role Playing game: Make character sheet. Need some level of physical description, skill levels for all skills in world, and an inventory. Role pretty dice for stats. Role pretty dice to see how well everything you try works. Have person who knows story and tries to keep the rest of the idiots (because the players are always idiots. It's funner that way) in line. Have fun. Also, look up real DND 5e for reference.
Honestly, lately you turned into one of my favorite youtube channels, and i'm always excited when you upload a new video! Lots of love to you guys and keep doing this awesome!!!
You guys add so much joy to my day. I love your humor and the way Katelyn puts the videos together, just ugh * chef's kiss*. Keep being awesome, you're doing way more than just making projects. Also, Evan's nervous giggles are everything. What's gonna happen, don't know, but we'll have fun and learn something new!! I found you guys because my 11 year old daughter watches you guys. We want to make all the things resin now hahaha
"someone tell us how to play D&D" Oh honey... You're in for a lot more than you even know. First, you need enough people to play. You'll want at least two other people. You absolutely should have a somewhat experienced dungeon master and a party of 3 players or more. The dungeon master will tell you the things you can or can't do and you learn through playing. There isn't any enjoyment to be had from reading the player's hamdbook alone. It's not exactly light reading. Not that you'd even consider it but... I'D LOVE TO SHOW YALL HOW TO PLAY >~
I've always been curious about it but i still am confused by the entire concept. It's basically a board game with mythical creatures right? Like mages, orcs, healers iggg?? and they... fight stuff? each turn?

Hey Evan and Katlyn!! I think you guys should do HUGE resin letters that have LEDs in/behind them. Preferably E&K!! I think that would be so cool and it would be a cute decoration!!!
Some constructive tips from someone who works with syringes all day long. When you draw up the liquid/resin the first time, draw up a few cc's and then push it back out. This will get rid of most of the air in the hub. Look for larger gauge needles, as large as will fit. Keep the molds level . You're going to want to fill it up all in one go, if possible. Avoid pulling the needle out and putting it back in. If you want multiple colors, try drawing up multiple colors. Or, draw up the second color in a different syringe. Inject the first color from syringe #1, then leave the needle from the first color in the mold (unscrewing the luer lock) and then screw syringe #2 on to the needle. Think about using vibration or small impacts to dislodge bubbles, maybe a massager, electric toothbrush or whatever you find in the back of Evan's sock drawer ; p
When Katelyn asked if Evan had opened the package already, I was really hoping the lights would turn off and you would just see Evan covered in fluorescent colors

@@asunflower7993 that's awesome congrats!! How was your first campaign game? I've been playing tabletop RPGs for about 6 years, but just started playing D&D about 3 years ago. Started with Shadowrun which I highly suggest, it's like Cyberpunk meets D&D, because it's future with cyberware but in a world of magic and dwarves, elves, trolls, etc. Having cyber removes mana if you're a magic user so you've got to find the line between wanting cyberware or not if you're a caster.

Was just coming down into the comments to mention Rybonator, Dice goblins unite! LOL

another cool dice idea: transparent resin with flowers inside!
also: the thumbnail and the dice are GORGEOUS!

Those holes in the top can be prevented by cutting pipettes and leaving them in the hole in the moulds filled with some resin, so that it fills in when in the pressure pot. Yerp.

But they already have the lines??
dxianav there’s no lines cuz they replaced lines with bubbles!
I have these molds and I can tell you that is untrue. The 6 and 9’s both have lines underneath the number. If you WANTED to switch them, you could by filling the lines and keeping/refining the bubbles, but that’s not how the mold itself is.

“Step 3: Fill the molds with syringes.”

the “bubble” on the 9 is supposed to be there to differentiate the 9 from the 6
Laughing Stauck the moment they were talking about those ‘bubbles’ I came here to see if anyone else caught it 😭
Any dnd player who hasn't been knocked down to 2 brain cells because of Corona would be able to tell those bubbles are the helpful little things that keep your 9 from becoming a six that could get you killed

"someone tell us how to play D&D"
Oh honey...

Think about using vibration or small impacts to dislodge bubbles, maybe a massager, electric toothbrush or whatever you find in the back of Evan's sock drawer
