I made similar candles as a child at 4H camp. Put a regular candle in the freezer for 30 minutes, take it out and grate it with a box grater on the finest side. Pour into a container and insert a wick exactly as shown on the video. Obviously you don't get "pearls" but you do get a similar product.
If not mistaken this "sand" is just the stuff they make cheap compressed candles out of. In the factory the "sand" is put into a mold and compressed into a sold candle.
Having made candles professionally, this is how raw wax is delivered... They aren't making candles, they're giving the consumer that job. I guess it saves on labor costs.

Talk about paying for fancy packaging!!!! You can get a 3 lb. bag of that same wax for $25 at local craft store. Maybe it isn't scented, but wouldn't take much to add your own scents to it. I used to buy it when it was a lot cheaper and used it as snow in some snow globe candles I made. Thanks for the review as always :).

What throws me more than the fact that it;s illegal is that they felt the need to do it on what appears to actually be a good product. $35 for a 120-hour candle is actually a great deal if the scents are also good. Lots of those higher-end candles are much more expensive and much less cool.
It's called wax snow. A large bag of it cost me about £15. It's cheap to buy, so are the wicks. So $15 for that is a disgrace considering you don't even get a container.
Why would you discard melted wax? Just remove wick while wax is melted, add new wick and pour fresh wax sand in the cavity. PS Are you sure there is enough wax sand for 30 wicks?
the f a normal candle in usa is 10 bucks now? the prices at the places where other peddlers buy their scented candless to sell to you are like 50-60 cent... 20 inch long thickboy temple pilot candles are like a 1.1 usd if not bought in bulk. 10 bucks should get you like 20 pounds of candles.
I have hard time just understanding why this product even exists outside maybe we throw away to much glass or other candle containers. Ultimately it’s still going to need a container to burn.

This is similar to a 1980s product called Wax Scents. They were more bead like, and you could choose from different scents.

A smart person went into a Michael’s and made a product with less then 5 dollars worth of items and sell it for a massive profit. Very smart.
