I got Lock Laces for my mom's shoes and they have saved her so much time. She had a back surgery 3 years ago now where they had to put two chromium bars in her back, 24 bolts and replace the discs and can't really bend over anymore. She can put her foot up on a chair and tie her shoe quickly now. Another amazing thing she uses is the Doff N' Donner (not an as seen on tv product but under $100 USD) to put on compression hose on her legs... More people honestly need to know about it for their elderly family or people with issues. While she was recovering I had to help her put on her hose, but with the Donner, I could get both hose, socks and shoes on in 15 mins.
This is why i love your channel!!!! You are the only person who actually gives updates on products you've tried, not just a review when you first get the products. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us and for making such thorough and great reviews!!!!
Ooh, those indeed would go quite well for snow boots! Not lived in an area with snow since I was a kid back in Alaska in the 90's but something like those laces would've been great as a kid.
I bought the BeltBro after watching your video last year. I wear cargo shorts with belt loops that are one inch wide. I only use one BeltBro and it works great. I even wash the shorts with it left on and haven't had any problems. That way I don't have to put it back on after washing.
I have a similar sunglass holder in my shop that is filled with safety glasses. It's one of those things that makes them so much easier to access that I find myself wearing them more then I did before. I also have different styles, tint, etc., so depending on what I am doing they are there and easily accessible.
Dang and I remember we had to take turns to crank the ice maker during family gatherings because it was so hard! Bonus point: the kids took turn sitting on top of it because it was so old, the top of the crank (if that makes sense, not English sorry) would fly off otherwise. But after that we had ton of delicious coconut ice cream so definitely worth it! Then again it must have been because it was a big old thing that would serve over 15 people easily
Knowing how incontinent rats are, and how they walk across cans stored at factories and stores... I sure don't want the top of the can inside my drink. Bleah!
Another great video. These "Year Later" reviews really are helpful. It's nice to know what holds up after a year's worth of use. I like the moon and the UFO. Those are pretty cool. I also like those mini flashlights. Do believe I shall buy a couple of the Aurora ones. And as always, the laughs you provide are always a treasure. So, thanks for this review and for the laughs.
I love the laces. I’m a nurse and change my shoes at work and they save me a lot of time. They still look brand new even though I had them before your review.
Because of your review, I bought one of the Rovyvon flashlights, the Aurora A5x I think, with the side LEDs and glow in the dark body. I've loved it and used it pretty much daily. I actually lost it at one point and bought the A3 like you showed and then found the original a day or two later and decided to keep it because they're such great little flashlights. So thanks for the review.
SO many quality reviews. I am so happy with my ratchet belts, I can't see me ever going to another kind of belt. I do love the moon and the UFO, but I could never see myself buying it since I feel it would be a quick novelty item Unless I started a youtube interview vlog channel,' Love the flashlight reviews, I am a weird person who stashes flashlights everywhere since I can never find them when I need them. I have them everywhere so I can always find at least one when I need a flashlight, Thanks for helping improve my life even if I never actually buy a product, they're still good to know about just in case.
I have picked up the Ozark Walmart 3 pack of lanterns in the camping department. Those suckers are BRIGHT and perfect for power outtages. I should get another set; I also have the Dollar Tree versions that work decently well too. I picked up a few of the old fashed block-battery flashlights. I never thought about stashing flashlights everywhere; I have all mine in a central cupboard I can find in the dark or by the light of a cell phone. Excellent idea! Thanks!
I purchased lock laces and put them in my low hikers which I would grab in an emergency (and have!). Also good for elders when dexterity becomes an issue. Lots of the products, like the banana knife you use are really good for people who have various disabilities.
The ice cream device seems like something to give a preteen who would eagerly spend the day making ice cream for their family. Old enough to do things in the kitchen alone, young enough to not realize the scam of the experience.
I was thinking the only real benefit to using an ice cream maker is if you want a specialty blend (not available pre packaged) or possibly if you have someone in the household w food &/Or preservative allergies/sensitivities.
20:12....reminds me of my husband's levitating speaker. We are always fighting with that thing in the exact same way. One of those tools that came with the globe would be nice to have.
With cans if I don’t want the lid to go in, I squeeze the can and it gives enough room to put the tip of the knife in and pull it up. I also wash all my can lids before opening just in case.
but can you wash the underside of the opener, which then touches your clean can lid? (not sarcasm, I always think about how to clean these gadgets James reviews, some seem like they'd be nearly impossible, because of the way they're constructed...and this isn't just a germ thing, any gadget dealing with food/drink is bound to acquire residue)
My favorite series of videos ☺ The Rovyvon is actually a great flashlight. It's a well-known brand in the EDC community, you picked correctly 👍 Happy new year!
The Draft Top is a good concept that other brands have done a better job with. The best use of this is actually for taking the top off to rinse the can before it goes into the recycle or returnables bin! I use a can opener to take off the top of cans currently so I can rinse them out enough that ants and other animals don't get into the cans while they sit in the garage.
Somehow I missed the review of the sunglasses holder, I probably nodded off, but holy crap!! I have 1 pair of sunglasses & they're a clip-on to my prescription glasses 😂
I had a chip maker back in the 70's. I already had a slicer forthe potatoes and they came out perfect and it cooked enough chips for my family, it was nice for the kids.
9:25 I love my whipped belt! Your review was the reason I got it in the first place. It pulls the loops but it does it job. I just loosened it a tiny bit and it is better
I actually bought that ThruNite T2, and I still use it. I mostly use it around the house where room lights just won't reach properly. I only charged it once since I bought it shortly after the Freakin' Review that featured it, and I probably didn't even need to charge it, I just did it to be sure it wouldn't run out when I really needed it. I normally keep it on medium, which is basically 'normal cheap but decent incandescent flashlight' level of brightness. High is a bit uncomfortably bright in an enclosed space like a room if you have the misfortune of shining it on a reflective surface and it hits your eyes. Max illumination is eye searing even on just a normal dull white surface, and it does warm up pretty fast. It feels weighty, but not heavy exactly. You'd definitely notice it in your pocket anyway.
I still like the Grip6. Once I got used to it, it is very easy to adjust on the go so if you have an active job or need it doing sports it is great. Love the moon and I am shopping for a new mini flashlight-thank you.
I have been wondering his system for YEARS now. His house doesn’t look like a hoarders, yet he can go back and find many of these items sometimes years later with ease! Where and more importantly how is it organized?
@1:18 the silicone handle cover- i didn't know they even made these, im notorious for burning the ridges off of my left hand because i will absent mindedly grab the handle to stabilize the hot pan while i'm distracted, solely focused on stirring/ scraping the hot cookware w my right hand. Without knowing about these silicone handles I've actually had fabulous success at stopping the "DOH" burns simply by repurposing all of my old padded/fabric blown glass pipe holders from my herb smoking days (since i mainly vape my herbs, now.) Thx Freaking Reviews guy
I will say, the Whippy is nice for preschool/toddlers (the size for them anyway lol) Potty Training!! My daughter is tall for her age, but her waist is average, so pants that fit for length are too big in the waist. Some pants have built in elastic in the waist band, but those that don't... this style belt is great for her. She can still undo her pants herself to use the potty all on her own. Gonna use them for my son too when he gets to that stage because he's built the same so far. So people with "gotta go now issues" may like it too. Pregnancy maybe, if their maternity pants are too loose that way no buckle on baby belly and pants still stay up. idk. I got one for myself xD Use it now and then as long as the shirt is long enough to hide the stretching loops.
I really love how bad the draft top is! It seems completely unnecessary and dunks the (potentially) filthy can-top into your beverage as a bonus. Interesting from an engineering perspective, but seems like it might be better for aerospace than can opener.
Would it work better if the user were to crack open the top. then use the device. pull the top by the tab as to not have it dunk into the beverage? But at that point, it seems redundant to even use the draft top.
Of those tiny lights, I use the Olight, because it was like $12 and has two modes for such a tiny design. Using it as a zipper pull, because its just that tiny.
Most "useless" devices were originally created for those with disabilities or dexterity issues. But companies want to get as much money as possible and therefore try to market them to everyone.
For the draft top item one of my other RUclipsrs pop the tab so that you can pull the top off after using the product instead of digging it out of the drink
I bought lock laces, a ratchet belt, and an aurora flashlight because of your reviews. They're all used almost everyday and have changed my life. Thanks James!

The loud whistle would be a lot more handy in an emergency situation. I'm not surprised that you didn't continue to use it as you thankfully did not have a reason to use it
One thing I'm curious about with the draft top, it seems the way to use it would be to have the tab bend up first. That would release the air from the can so it won't foam so much, and give you a way to pull the cut part up and out. It didn't fall into the can until touched, so snatching the tab quick with fingers or being able to hook it and pull back with the little hook to 'push it in'. Otherwise, you don't know how clean the tops are, wash them first. Otherwise that's just gross :p
There's an even easier way to open a banana without squishing the ends, just open it from the bottom. You wouldn't think so, but it opens much easier that way.
