    Actually, Boimler's not the one to blame for all this. Its the Curators fault for not doing more of a thorough inspection of Voyager before shipping her off to the exhibit.

    It took the ending shot of Voyager on the ground in San Francisco to get me to remember; in Endgame Future Janeway says that Voyager is a museum in her timeline “On a clear day you can see Alcatraz from here”
    Looks like that’s true for the main Trek timeline too, Nice callback!

    Boimler reaching a point where he values his connections to other people more than he values the chance to get promoted is some fine-ass character development. Season 1 Boimler was willing to leave his friends behind (albeit reluctantly) to take a promotion to the Titan. Season 4 Boimler is willing to self-sabotage because his loyalty to his friends is such that he measures his worthiness to advance by how well he supports and believes in them. Good man, Brad...

    • @poshboy4749

    • @rulerofdiscord
      @rulerofdiscord Год назад +21

      it probably has to do with the numerous modifications that had been done to the ship. I also believe that the gel pack route may have been viewed as too strategically significant to keep the ship active. Your ship is now not only vulnerable to physical attack and energy attack but also biological.

    • @hfar_in_the_sky
      @hfar_in_the_sky Год назад +11

      @@rulerofdiscord I came to the same conclusion. Because yeah, Rick is right that Voyager is a relatively new ship class. And you honestly can’t tell me that Voyager is “too old” when Starfleet still has Miranda and Excelsior class ships still in service. So Voyager being too irregular in its design after all the modifications is about the only reason I can think of

      @@rulerofdiscordnah man, every ship in the fleet has since adopted bio neural circuitry and isolinear hybrid computer systems, they decommissioned it because starfleet RnD got their hands on it and tore every non essential part from it's Hull for research. They added a stellar cartography room, the database filled with so many planets and scans, the doctor, borg enhancements done multiple times, the transphasic torpedo and the ablative shield, neelixes cooking, etc
