A woman shouldn’t settle for a man who isn’t Godly just because the woman is “less”. We are less than God but God treats us with great care, so anyone who has authority should be using it well as Jesus does with us.
I look through comments on post like this and I ask myself why are so many Believers not married. Why is it taking us just as long to get into marriage like those of the world who’s values do not reflect that which we believe. In my opinion more Christians who desire marriage should be married. The Bible does not call for the extra long engagements, fancy weddings, expensive rings. Paul says it’s better to marry than to burn. I can attest that it could be because God wants relationships/marriages to last and work for His Glory. He doesnt want to produce microwaveable marriages or relationships these things must be "cooked and baked" for some time that way it will have a Lasting effect in comparison to what the world is pushing out. As the gospel preached in churches goes more and more toward what we can get in this life, we're not learning it's us who need to change, so we're always looking for someone who is what we want them to be. But we don't change. As God is love and His ways are love, if we leave the true gospel by the way we live our lives, we can't expect to see love of God from others, because we're living according to feelings. I tried diligently, year after year, to try and get my ex to understand that these things were all I needed from him. Out of the 4 qualities you spoke of, I only asked for the emotional protection and for him to make me, AKA our relationship, a priority. I didn't need him to provide as I've been self-sufficient since 18. For all I sacrificed to be with him and all the love and support offered, most of the time at my own expense, what very little I asked of him should have been simple to deliver, but he couldn't be bothered. He was too busy chasing his own selfish interests, despite how damaging they were to the relationship. It took me almost 10 fruitless years to finally wake up and realize that he would never be capable of providing these basic level requirements⁷ because he simply didn't love me. Remember....actions always speak louder than words. Someome who truly loves you will want to place peace in yoir heart and will not constantly be the one dishonoring and taking advantage of it. A partner with virtue won't even blink at these 4 qualities because doing those things comes along with the territory of actually loving someone. Someone who is in a relationship purely because they don't want to be alone or they want a partner to attend to their own emotional needs, will NEVER be able to give you these things. I will never again allow someone to waste my time, my life, like that. Thank you for the reminder that I am a fiercely loyal, incredibly loving woman who has so much to offer a TRUE man of virtue. I'd like to add that men need to learn to SERIOUSLY hold back on sexual advances when perusing a woman. It's ok to let her know you think she's attractive, but if you are one week into the relationship and pressuring her for sex, you are making her feel UNSAFE and USED. Ruth didn't choose Boaz. Marriage in the OT was mostly an arrangement between men. So biblicaly speaking , a woman doesn't choose a man to marry (at least this is the vast majority case). Maybe there is an example in the Bible of where a woman gets to choose a man to marry?

Sometimes an issue can be that a lot of these girls have "prince charming" syndrome where they need to meet this perfect guy that checks all of their boxes and anything else they feel would be "settling". It is so frustrating for us guys sometimes competing with that mentality and it seems to be much more rampant in the church. I have experienced that with a recent relationship, very God centered, and did not end well due to unrealistic expectations and expected perfection. So in addition to that, I do not think someone who has never even dated or been in a relationship until 30 is a red flag, but definitely something to be curious or aware of. In my case it became obvious why she had never been in a relationship before. She was looking to date Jesus more or less.

These videos are great points of reference however we can easily fall into this trap to expect the person we’re with to be painted EXACTLY like a Ruth or Boaz. When in actuality they may possess these qualities but over the time refinement has to happen....grace has to be given. Christ knew we were going to stumble along until we gain our footing. It’s the process of growth....sometimes we miss out on the right one not because they are the wrong one but because they don’t meet our expectations and often times it’s centered around a worldly view of love and not a Biblical view on love.
I beg to differ sir... I'll be 30 in Nov God willing and have never had a boyfriend in my life. I don't think that makes me a 'red flag' simply because I've not accustomed myself to the norms of the world. It's all really good. And you are right about everything. Boaz is a good example of a Godly man who does all these things and that passage is there for this purpose, I am sure. Boaz was rich. All women want that. I'm not slating them, it's mostly their need for security and that's OK. I do feel, however that a lot of single Christian women are looking for their "Boaz" and ignoring their Elijahs and Jeremiahs. You notice Boaz did not have very much spiritual stuff going on. It was all about his security and wealth and ability to give Ruth a really comfortable life. He was Godly, not denying that. But there are a lot of "blue collar guys", shall we say, in the Kingdom of God that are ignored. They are not rich but they are hard working and are movers and shakers for God. I think it's important that women not only look out for their own interests but for the interests of Gods kingdom. There's a sacrifice that comes with being with a guy that has a calling and sometimes it's financial. I'm definitely in that boat. I'm a RADICAL Christian. I was rejected and rejected in the church. I was a moderately successful guy. Everyone was driving new cars, I had a second-hand one (a nice one. Pristine-condition classic Mercedes). Everyone bought property and ran the corporate treadmill like a rabbit. I was self-employed but intentionally free so I could serve God. I did a lot of ministry and it cost me. But I was still easily able to provide. The kids would just not go to private schools and we would live In a moderate house (pleasant, though). But that was not good enough for them. They were being told to go for Boaz. There was a time when I began to chase money and act like this cool entrepreneur. I was going to buy this really prestigious condo with a view to die for. I was going to be this "hot bachelor" living it up. I got a finance guy to cook my books a bit so I looked richer and my bond was approved! All to impress the ladies in the church... But God stopped it. No sooner had I signed the papers than one of my big clients went Bankrupt!!! I crawled back the the estate agent and begged him to get me out of this disaster. He was cool and he did. And today, at 58, here I am, having found the woman of my dreams. But she is on the other side of the world! I have flown 3 times to the Philippines and spent a STACK of money but I found her. She is an angel from heaven. I'm trying to get the money together right now to fly her to South Africa where I live. It's happening but it's taking forever. It will happen in time. But it's tough. She's suffering missing me and all. But that money could have been spent on many things locally if a woman here had given me the time of day. Now, I'm not a beta male. I had women interested in me locally and I had some relationships that were miss wrongs and so on. I'm a passionate, driven person with a strong sense of purpose. I'm no slouch. But the dating culture here was TOXIC. I had experiences the would make your hair stand on end! CHRISTIAN women... yeah. But if Christian women were not told to shoot for Boaz all the time, but compromise for the sake of the kingdom, great things would have been achieved!

In short...a Christian should seek a partner who reflects the characteristics of Christ, not Boaz. We're called to be like Christ, not like anyone else. If you don't know what Christlike characteristics are, then you probably aren't yet ready for a spouse.

The principles are good, but I probably would’ve pulled them from Song of Songs or Ephesians 5. While being kind, I don’t see Boaz pursuing Ruth in the way you state, especially as if it were a dating relationship. My mom actually made a list of what she wanted in a man and she prayed to God for him all the time. She almost got married to a man she did not pray for. Then one day, my dad saw my mom’s picture. Then, it was like the Holy Spirit guided my dad to my mom. My dad pursued my mom then. I’m really thankful for their story because our living God answers prayers and He will prepare a spouse for you. I can attest that it could be because God wants relationships/marriages to last and work for His Glory. He doesnt want to produce microwaveable marriages or relationships these things must be "cooked and baked" for some time that way it will have a Lasting effect in comparison to what the world is pushing out. The worlds way is microwaveable and tend to not last or hold. God is INTENTIONAL and he wants things done in a specifc way. Could be the reason it seems many in the church are single. But we don't change. As God is love and His ways are love, if we leave the true gospel by the way we live our lives, we can't expect to see love of God from others, because we're living according to feelings. Some major context was missing. Bias actually didn’t make the first move. Ruth did. Ruth was the one who knew who’s field to work in. I tried diligently, year after year, to try and get my ex to understand that these things were all I needed from him.
Out of the 4 qualities you spoke of, I only asked for the emotional protection and for him to make me, AKA our relationship, a priority. I didn't need him to provide as I've been self-sufficient since 18. For all I sacrificed to be with him and all the love and support offered, most of the time at my own expense, what very little I asked of him should have been simple to deliver, but he couldn't be bothered. He was too busy chasing his own selfish interests, despite how damaging they were to the relationship.
It took me almost 10 fruitless years to finally wake up and realize that he would never be capable of providing these basic level requirements⁷ because he simply didn't love me. Remember....actions always speak louder than words. Someome who truly loves you will want to place peace in yoir heart and will not constantly be the one dishonoring and taking advantage of it.
A partner with virtue won't even blink at these 4 qualities because doing those things comes along with the territory of actually loving someone. Someone who is in a relationship purely because they don't want to be alone or they want a partner to attend to their own emotional needs, will NEVER be able to give you these things.
I will never again allow someone to waste my time, my life, like that. Thank you for the reminder that I am a fiercely loyal, incredibly loving woman who has so much to offer a TRUE man of virtue. I will never again ignore these very fundamental requirements for a healthy relationship. All I want is a partner who loves me as much as I will love them.

I'd like to add that men need to learn to SERIOUSLY hold back on sexual advances when perusing a woman. It's ok to let her know you think she's attractive, but if you are one week into the relationship and pressuring her for sex, you are making her feel UNSAFE and USED. Self control and the ability to hold back sexual desire is a quality I have yet to find in a single man yet. I want to feel loved for who I am, not my body.

Ruth didn't choose Boaz. Marriage in the OT was mostly an arrangement between men. So biblicaly speaking , a woman doesn't choose a man to marry (at least this is the vast majority case). Maybe there is an example in the Bible of where a woman gets to choose a man to marry?

There was something special about Boaz since he was a kinsman and had the right to perform the part of a kinsman unto her.
Nothing to do about a so-called "perfect husband" , that stupid garbage taught over and over in all those modern pathetic churches .
The kinsman thing was something coming from the LORD . It was something serious .
Boaz knew that another man could have performed this kinsman's part. So he waited until this man gave his decision to get Ruth.

If as he said in the video , Boaz had "abused" her sexually , he would have had to marry her according to the LAW of God. But he knew there was another man that could potentially be her husband . He was rational.

Sometimes an issue can be that a lot of these girls have "prince charming" syndrome where they need to meet this perfect guy that checks all of their boxes and anything else they feel would be "settling". It is so frustrating for us guys sometimes competing with that mentality and it seems to be much more rampant in the church. I have experienced that with a recent relationship, very God centered, and did not end well due to unrealistic expectations and expected perfection. So in addition to that, I do not think someone who has never even dated or been in a relationship until 30 is a red flag, but definitely something to be curious or aware of. In my case it became obvious why she had never been in a relationship before. She was looking to date Jesus more or less.

These videos are great points of reference however we can easily fall into this trap to expect the person we’re with to be painted EXACTLY like a Ruth or Boaz. When in actuality they may possess these qualities but over the time refinement has to happen....grace has to be given. Christ knew we were going to stumble along until we gain our footing. It’s the process of growth....sometimes we miss out on the right one not because they are the wrong one but because they don’t meet our expectations and often times it’s centered around a worldly view of love and not a Biblical view on love.

It's all really good. And you are right about everything. Boaz is a good example of a Godly man who does all these things and that passage is there for this purpose, I am sure.
Boaz was rich. All women want that. I'm not slating them, it's mostly their need for security and that's OK.
I do feel, however that a lot of single Christian women are looking for their "Boaz" and ignoring their Elijahs and Jeremiahs. You notice Boaz did not have very much spiritual stuff going on. It was all about his security and wealth and ability to give Ruth a really comfortable life. He was Godly, not denying that. But there are a lot of "blue collar guys", shall we say, in the Kingdom of God that are ignored. They are not rich but they are hard working and are movers and shakers for God.
I think it's important that women not only look out for their own interests but for the interests of Gods kingdom. There's a sacrifice that comes with being with a guy that has a calling and sometimes it's financial.
I'm definitely in that boat. I'm a RADICAL Christian. I was rejected and rejected in the church. I was a moderately successful guy. Everyone was driving new cars, I had a second-hand one (a nice one. Pristine-condition classic Mercedes). Everyone bought property and ran the corporate treadmill like a rabbit. I was self-employed but intentionally free so I could serve God. I did a lot of ministry and it cost me. But I was still easily able to provide. The kids would just not go to private schools and we would live In a moderate house (pleasant, though).
But that was not good enough for them. They were being told to go for Boaz.
There was a time when I began to chase money and act like this cool entrepreneur. I was going to buy this really prestigious condo with a view to die for. I was going to be this "hot bachelor" living it up. I got a finance guy to cook my books a bit so I looked richer and my bond was approved! All to impress the ladies in the church...
But God stopped it. No sooner had I signed the papers than one of my big clients went Bankrupt!!! I crawled back the the estate agent and begged him to get me out of this disaster. He was cool and he did.
And today, at 58, here I am, having found the woman of my dreams. But she is on the other side of the world! I have flown 3 times to the Philippines and spent a STACK of money but I found her. She is an angel from heaven.
I'm trying to get the money together right now to fly her to South Africa where I live. It's happening but it's taking forever. It will happen in time. But it's tough. She's suffering missing me and all.
But that money could have been spent on many things locally if a woman here had given me the time of day. Now, I'm not a beta male. I had women interested in me locally and I had some relationships that were miss wrongs and so on. I'm a passionate, driven person with a strong sense of purpose. I'm no slouch. But the dating culture here was TOXIC. I had experiences the would make your hair stand on end! CHRISTIAN women... yeah.
But if Christian women were not told to shoot for Boaz all the time, but compromise for the sake of the kingdom, great things would have been achieved!

I usually enjoy & agree with your videos but found this one to stretch the text beyond what it actually says. The principles are good, but I probably would’ve pulled them from Song of Songs or Ephesians 5. While being kind, I don’t see Boaz pursuing Ruth in the way you state, especially as if it were a dating relationship. Appreciate what you do, but wanted to provide what I hope you see as constructive criticism.
