@@QR974 the voice of Mack voices a character in basically every Pixar movie, and at the end of cars they had Mack watch some of those movies and point out they all had the same voice.
I really like the message of this film, where sometimes you have to slow down and enjoy life. And that's what McQueen does after he started off as a selfish jerk. There's more to racing than just winning. Cars isn't one of the stronger Pixar films, but it's still an enjoyable time, and definitely one I always rewatch!
31:39 Yes, sadly Joe Ranft passed away in a car crash during the production. This film along with Corpse Bride is dedicated in his memory. He also voiced Lenny and Wheezy from Toy Story, Heimlich from A Bugs Life, Jacques from Finding Nemo, and Red in Cars
He was a writer, animator, and voice actor on The Brave Little Toaster, a movie I really like. Rewatching it, it’s amazing how much they reused in the Toy Story movies.
There's actually a book that detailed Lightning's backstory and origins as a racer. His real name is Montgomery, and he learned to race at an Racing Academy where the top student would receive a sponsorship. During his time there, McQueen befriended another car named Carl, and the two often spent their time racing each other in friendly competitions. Before the final race of the year, in which would determine who would graduate and earn the sponsorship, Carl told McQueen there was a problem with his car parts (I don't remember exactly what it was) and urged him to remove it to avoid any crashes. However, this was a lie as McQueen was in perfect condition, and this removal made McQueen slower and allowed Carl to overtake him and win the race, and Carl earned the sponsorship, and McQueen felt betrayed by the one who he thought was his friend, and after that, McQueen came to believe that he could only depend on himself and didn't need anyone to avoid suffering another betrayal, which explains his self-confidence and lack of teamwork skills at the beginning of the movie. After graduating and racing on the minor leagues, McQueen was fired from his sponsor, Smell Swell Deodorizer in favor of another young rookie racer named Sammy Smelter, whose poor racing fit the image of Smell Swell better, according to the representative who fired McQueen. Mack, who had overheard McQueen's termination, approached him and offered to take McQueen to Boston to meet for a job opportunity with Rust-eze, who had been looking, with little success, for a new spokescar. During their trip, McQueen and Mack became fast friends. Upon their arrival in Boston, Rusty and Dusty Rust-eze offered a sponsorship to McQueen. Though he was initially hesitant due to the sponsor's humiliating demeanor, McQueen ONLY agreed if Rust-eze allowed Mack to become his driver, which they allowed, and that's how McQueen and Mack came to work together.
Strip Weathers is voiced by a legend racer Richard Petty aka The King himself, he is an American former stock car racing driver who competed from 1958 to 1992 in the former NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup Series, included winning the Daytona 500 a record seven times and winning a record 27 races in one season in 1967, and His Character Weathers is an anthropomorphic version of Petty's 1970 Plymouth Superbird, sporting the same shade of blue and Petty's racing number, 43 and is also a fictionalized version of him, and Richard petty's late wife Lynda Petty also voiced Lynda Weathers in the film
My uncle raced against the king. They shared a hospital room after a wreck one time and the king offered my uncle headache powders. He didn't just do commercials for goodys, he was a costumer. True story
The whole design of Radiator Springs was inspired by the director plus others traveling Route 66 and taking inspiration directly from landmarks/buildings. One example is the Wigwam Hotel which are teepees, but in this movie they were cones.
The reason why doc wanted McQueen to get out of the court, was because doc WAS a race car himself, and his crash in 54 really stopped his racing career, when he tried to get back to racing, they told him “your history” and they moved on to the next rookie standing in line. So doc keeps that, to remember never to go back.
A lot of people dog this one for some reason, no, it's not masterpiece level, but I think it's pretty charming if nothing else. The ending is moving to me because McQueen saved the King's legacy. His career would have ended on a tragic note, and McQueen winning would have overshadowed the whole thing. Instead he helped the King finish with dignity, and his selfless act makes it a day that everyone will remember forever, but for the best reasons now.
I think part of the reason it gets alot of the dislike it does is because they insisted on making it a franchise rather than leaving it to this one film

The "Stanley" statue in Radiator Springs was based on a real car that actually existed. (Yes, steam powered cars were once a thing). If you ever visit the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO (which was the inspiration for "The Shining"), you can learn about the fascinating history of the Stanley Steamer automobile.

I adore this movie and I adore you guys! Am I on the hot mom list for Curtis yet? 😂
I listen to Real Gone and Life is a Highway regularly to this day. Such great songs!
I always feel Chick Hicks should if not serving jail time for attempted murder at least be banned from the racing circuit for his causing those crashes.
One of the best Pixar movies ever!!! I still remember seeing it in the theaters as a kid
This was my childhood!❤ I love this and the sequel so much.
So happy to see this masterpiece
The "Stanley" statue in Radiator Springs was based on a real car that actually existed. (Yes, steam powered cars were once a thing). If you ever visit the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO (which was the inspiration for "The Shining"), you can learn about the fascinating history of the Stanley Steamer automobile.
Appropriate timing since it’s the 75th anniversary of NASCAR and the 30th anniversary of my home state of NH hosting race weekend for NASCAR at the Loudon Speedway!
I know nothing about NASCAR, btw, other than I’m not into it but it’s been all over the news here so I’ve osmosed it haha!
I remember everytime I watch this movie at my uncle's house when I was a kid, he and my cousin are a fans of this movie and I always hear them screaming each other back and forth on who's gonna get a better Car 🤣🤣🤣
Yesss my boys watching a classic get ready to rev them cars i hope you carry this on all three 😁
Love the cars trilogy. Glad to see you guys finally react to the first (and best, in my opinion).
I think you two missed one last cut scene. Those two mini vans were driving in the desert off road lol.
YAYYYYYYY FINALLY ANOTHER CARS REACTION VIDEO WITHOUT ALL LOWERCASE AUTO-GENERATED CAPTIONS!!!
I remember seeing this in theaters and just the rumble and sounds of the cars at the theater was loud but awesome. I even had the soundtrack
Either they drink Hella Red Bulls, or do some booger sugar because these people are always hyper😂
License to drive is a great film grab some snacks sit back and enjoy the ride 🎉**
You two are living the dream. My favorite day at school was always when we got to watch movies. I never thought it could be a career choice though! I was also the class clown which fits you two perfectly 😆
I low key love y’all’s goofy random intros
