taking off my hat to the dance king Mr rocking shocking Baker my man this guide is awesome the people he put on DJ bam rockers revenge in I could go on even me. the DJ mighty master cee in the stony creek party crew in thanx to the person who took time out to post this rock on my brother rock on
Arthur Baker is a legend and this is one of the best bboy videos I have seen in a long time! the style, execution, moves and footwork are excellent. footwork is important as so many so called bboys these days and over the last 20 years overly complicate footwork to the point where it looks like they are on drugs...some go to that level in this video but still manage to keep some style...I would be curious to know who the 2 crews are challenging in the beginning and the bboy at the end has the EOE - Excellence Of Execution as do quite a few of the bboys in this video. well done to all and to Fredski - good job!
topgeezer I believe the b-boys in the beginning all belong to the Vagabond crew out of France. The camera angles were switched but it's all the same crew in the same battle. I think is was from a BOTY back in the early 2000s.

You wanna know why? Cuz the opportunistic Hollywood sunk it's teeth into B-Boying, and bastardized rap started to influence everybody the wrong way. Back then, rap was refreshing, and breakin was inspiring. Today, rap is insulting, and B-Boying causes more harm than good on the streets. It's all about respect, and sadly, nobody has it for each other anymore, let alone for themselves... BTW, awesome video Paarskamertje....! :)
To me back in the day Arthur Baker in the 80s was the godfather of electro Morgan Khan he respected this genre of music with soul funk underated classic albums he brought out back in the day respect to Arthur Baker respect to UKs Morgan Khan for. bringing US vibe back in the day.
I saw Arthur Baker in Bayswater,Central London where he has a bar called Elbow Room,I stopped him and told him'your a Genius man',I hope he took it as a compliment, well at least he didnt call the police.
Nice video. I grew up in Queens in the early 80's popping and breaking. Is it me or do today's B-boys NOT time/choreograph their moves to the Music? Back in the 80s THAT'S what made your moves on point. Because you picked the right song, to time your moves to. For example, go back and watch the actual battle scene from Beat Street. Every participant TIMED their moves to the song. In particular: Powerful Pexter Buck 4 Action Crazy Legs and Ken Swift. Just a thought.
I agree with your statement. I think i watched beat street about 40 times and the scene in the Roxy still gets me chickenskin 😁. Thanks for the reaction. I made it with only love for the music and the breakin
wow. i was always intot he old school bboying but this has made me rethink. some of the moves these guys did were phenomenal - top, top quality - especially the guy doing the headspin at the end. that was huge!. nice vid and nice to see a tribute to arthur baker - what a track - still sounds amazing over 25 years after it first came out. has the cleanest synth ever!. nice post. btw where is this crew from?.
arthur baker is spinning this saturday! i gota be honest though, i dont really like how the clip was of vagabonds crew. i would have prefered footage of pokemon crew, go youtube them up if u aint familiar with them.
The black guy that was doing the windmill on his head was out of this world phenomenal. Love the beat and it's still popping for real for real.
Still da best song ever and good old breakdancing. Brings me back in da days. Thank you for this.
awesome, arthur baker doesn't get enough credit, he's a true hip hop legend/pioneer even help produced bambaada's planet rock etc..
big ups to him.
Super good. Still watching it once a month at least.
Good to hear that, thanks! It's the music that does the trick :-)
