  • As requested - cold start videos and procedure for both the ‘64 Chevys.
    Chevelle has a roller 496ci with a Holley 950HP carb, no choke. Usually much harder to start in the cold. I was driving it maybe five days ago so that’s probably why it started so easily.
    Impala has a roller 350ci with. 650cfm Edelbrock. Started easier than I expected, too! Not sure what the “screaming” way.. perhaps a protest to the cold. Probably just a belt.

    Seeing the 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu made me happy it's been my dream to have one and one day I will.. I was 8 im now 26, I spent a lot of time sitting in my dad's and going for rides he sold it due to money we needed and I plan to get one and build it up. He had a 4 speed with a California body, firetruck red, black stripes, one day.

    Really like the car my 64 chevelle is very very similar . I was wondering what size tire you have on the rear and also what kinda of rearend and gears you have

    • @leojt9423
      @leojt9423  Год назад +1

      On the Chevelle the rear tires are 255/60/15 on a 15x8 corvette rally wheel. Rear end is the stock 3.36 gear with an Eaton LSD carrier

      @@jjeremy350 definitely can’t give up! I think it depends on the carb. I’ll flood the Chevelle if I kick it too many times on the first start

    why do you let them sit so long? My eclamino starts every morning 20 degrees twice a day. Drive them as much as you can, at least 2 times a week.

      I drive the Chevelle pretty regularly. The impala needs a alignment (badly) and needs more adjustment to the rear brakes which I replaced a few months ago. However now it’s super cold and salt on the roads here so the cars see little driving time these days.

    What a beast to cold start. A heated garage would fix that or a move to the southwest.

    Check for a parasitic draw on the Impala, battery should never go dead unless it's hooped, I have never unhooked or dealt with a dead battery in my 68 427 Biscayne in 10 years, jump in and it always has power and starts!

      Yep, gets me every time. Glad some one else relates haha. I usually have a battery tender on it but I took it off for some reason and left the key on Accessory (you can seen the ignition is clicked too far over to the left when I get it in to turn it over the first time.

      @@leojt9423 Yeah I tried one on mine.... One dead cell in an 8 year old Optima
      I have fuel injection so USUALLY it was enough to get it started, the time it died in the driveway.... That was me stalling it 😂
