- Filmed with a Panasonic GH5 camera - amzn.to/3eN0Op2 1969 Chevelle. One of my favorite muscle cars. Has a GM performance parts cam in it, with lunati lifters and edelbrock heads. Originally a 396 BBC, now sports a Blueprints Engines 454 LS6 crate engine. This Malibu Chevelle also has some kind of electronically controlled exhaust cutouts as well. Nothing like the sound of a big cam V8 with long tube headers and an open exhaust. Awesome big Cam idle sound.

My uncle (RIP) had a few Chevelles in his time including a 69 SS 396 4 speed and a 73 SS 454 4 speed, I’ll never forget when I was 17 and he tossed me the keys for the first time. Good that was a fun car.

Oh, man, what a car...When I was in body shop one of my classmates had a car just like this. We painted it orange, with two big black stripes. He gave me a lift to my home town, Elberton, Georgia, about 50 miles away from Athens Tech, in Athens, Georgia. If this cam doesn't doesn't give you a buzz, you had better check your ears, and your pulse :)

When I was a kid in 1973, I owned a 1970 Chevelle Super Sport 396 / 375 horsepower four Speed. It cost me $800. Of course $800 was real money 45 years ago for a 17 year old.

buisyman they sound the same with big cammes in them trust me.ive grew up around race cars and no matter what engine you have ls or 350 with a big cam they mostly sound the same. Idk about lawnmowers but I know they have a little different sound but not much at all.
It's the exhaust system they use today. borla touring exhaust seem to be popular, but I think it sounds kind of like crap. Especially when you put it on a car like mine. My car came from the factory with borla touring exhaust on it. Kind of sounds like crap to me. Too loud.Boxer engines can sound so much better with something different. Same with modern exhaust systems. You'd be better off pulling the muffler and just running straight pipe from the catalytic converter.

Had a 69 my senior yr in high school.had a 454 3/4 cam and an 800 Holley double pumper.was sweet for going fast but didn't get past many gas pumps haha.wish I had it back
Really high lift but not a huge duration. Perfect for a street car with a good top end. Really like the e cutouts lifesaver from the cops.
Thank God for 4 core aluminum radiators and electric fans because thats the longest dam light i have ever seen☺
