Bo those have been around for at least 50 years. Ive seen them made of sheet metal, old road signs and a bunch of other things. He may be the first one to 3D print them, but he didnt come up with the ideal. I have one that is at least 20 years old I made. Haydels Game calls had one out 20 years ago that was the size of a credit card, made of tough plastic. A couple tips for you. Just tie a 3 foot loop in your paracord thu the hole. Then wrap it around a tree and drop the skinner thru it. No need to tie a knot every time. If you break the squirrels hind legs, it will slip deeper into the "V" and never slip out. Good luck this year.

I guess a lot more people eat cute fluffy little squirrels then I thought did, those poor little critters.

$45 bucks for something that is slower and less efficient than the traditional way of cutting through the base of the tail, holding the tail down and pulling up. No thanks! lol

Know its not for everyone but figured id share if for the people that find a use for it. I can do it without been doing it for years but this really does help. At least for me. Hope you have a great hunting season!

I hope you keep the hides, squirrel leather can be really soft and it's not hard to process. Just enough to make a knife holster or some other small pouch out of soft white leather. Also good for lanyards, or other applications where you just need a patch of leather. It's thin but strong and soft, and if you keep the tails or fur on it it can be a nice souvenir for any new hunters. Some prefer to remove all the fur as it reminds them of the mildly gruesome origins. Personally I am in between as I don't like hurting animals but I also understand why hunting isn't about hurting animals as I used to hunt a lot myself. That's why I learned to make leather, I felt if I was to kill an animal I become responsible for every part of it and making sure I get the most out of it.

@@eve_squared I’ve used squirrel leather for years to make my own handcrafted leather condoms. Don’t use them on women that have a nut allergy, trust me, don’t do it…

Ill have to admit I discard the fur however i would be interested in the process to try it out. I do keep all my squirrel tails though for the purpose of making crappie/panfish jigs they work great. And i keep the meat so most of the animal goes to good use 😁 but i definitely like your way of thinking.

Ill be honest, im only 37 but im raised by my pap whos 77 now and hes passed his old school ways down. I cant do the gimmick stuff. Shit takes an hour. Its simple. Cut around ankles pinch back cut. 2 fingers each hand. Pull apart. Head cut. Tail cut. Guts pull. Watch piss sack. Salt water bowl. Bam. 2 min. Were eatin in 30 pimp. I hate the way all new hunters are. I cant even talk hunting with people anymore. Always sellin some shit or tryna give shotty advice. Be Men again . Stay blessed. Stop wasting time

Im 38 and ill tell ya this, i have cleaned my fair share of squirrels without this thing no doubt about it. But this thing works and it works well. My back sucks and this keeps me from bending over and blowing it out. I have never skinned a squirrel like you describe however i know lots do. Grew up learning the old step on em method. Im not endorsed by this product i make no money off the sales of it. I bought it and love it and thought id share with the rest of the community. I 💯 agree there are some gimmicks out there that is just straight garbage but this sir i can 💯 say is not. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I can respect that. Hope the hunting is good for you this year 🤘

it's probably because it's made in small batches. If it were mass produced it could easily be about 20 dollars but it seems like it's just being made by one guy. If you really don't want to pay for it just take a photo and sketch out the design and reproduce it yourself.
